Phenomenal interview. I'm starting radiology residency next year and have been thinking a lot about my future career. One major decision is private practice (where volume is king) versus academic. Hearing him talk about the importance of taking your time is now pushing me toward academic.
Thank you, and congrats on starting radiology residency soon! I’m glad he was able to help you figure out more of your specific career niche. Good luck on your journey!
Would be great if you interviewed some of the younger radiologists. Oldies always have the inferiority complex to other clinical specialities, cause radiology was not as important during their learning years. Radiology now is very different and requires you to know MORE than your other referring departments.
Hey Bro ☺️ I'm ur new Subscriber and I loved ur a day in the life video...and I saw u on many other of my fav medical RUclipsrs...and I'm also a med student so I was so happy to have found ur channel... I needed some study inspiration and ideas for my channel too ( hehe😋😋)
Sophie So I just interviewed a PA, and I’ll have the interview up soon, but he said the category is pretty open. You might want to check with specific goal schools to see if they have specific qualifications, but that should work!
By extension, isn't clinical decision making even easier than imaging diagnosis, will computers take over clinical decision making? you'd only need the skill of surgeons to carry out surgeries that the algorithm deems fit and for maybe a new branch to emerge and take up all procedures that the computer suggests? medicine would go extinct. interventional radiology would survive. and by further extension, only departments actively doing physical work on patients would survive it. if you disagree cause you think clinical decision making is more difficult, think about patterns in blood tests vs imaging patterns for AI? which do you think is easier? if an AI can be trained for imaging diagnosis(which btw does require clinical knowledge to a great degree), you can bet your ass it can be trained for doing most other doctor's jobs. Can you imagine if we add robots to this? I doubt anyone would even have a job.

wow. beautiful interview. thank you so much
No problem, thanks for watching!
was really getting into the subject as of recent, this came out just in time! I really have no idea what specialty to choose now ugh..
music.saves. us. I knowww, the struggle is real. I’ve been going back and forth a lot lately.
@@DrAdnan same here. this man has got some wisdom to share indeed!
music.saves. us. I agree- that’s one reason I like interviewing experienced doctors who are passionate about their field
Maybe instead of just specialties you can do topical interviews, like future of your field, impact of possible M4A, etc
Great idea! I’ve been thinking of ways to incorporate that, and will work on it.

Oldies always have the inferiority complex to other clinical specialities, cause radiology was not as important during their learning years. That’s an interesting take. It would be nice to see the difference between the generations, I agree
He is very excited.
drramksa91 He’s very passionate about radiology

NZ FITNESS Ayy, one of my gym bro’s is an MRI tech too! 👊
Jesus loves you (:
I hope so :)
Yes He does!!
Aren't computers gonna take over this stuff?
It’ll probably take many decades at least, unless there’s a lucky breakthrough
Naw man. You need a very conscious being overlooking imaging to diagnose diseases. Their job is definitely one of the hardest
No, especially since interventional radiology will take over more and more surgical procedures.
