So far it has been good I don’t see any issues with performance, but yeah, it is filled with technology, which is a pinpoint at some point of time, and I would like to address that in the next video. Running is not an issue. It’s smooth and steady, but the tech side creates problem.
Both are different segment. I was driving Civic from 15 years and was looking for a change. I will Not be able to answer this question i’d suggest reach out to an expert of cars.
What about the power delivery? Many say it is grossly underpowered, especially on highways & hills. Secondly, most users say the rear seats are uncomfortable for long drives. Is this true ?
My family never questioned about discomfort of rear seats. I’d say I am still to test it on hills so no comments on that yet but I feel it’s decent. I owned Honda Civic prior to this car and power was amazing since that was 1800 cc and I would say I used to crib a lot when I used to get stuck in Delhi traffic and that I could not drive more than 50KMPH / 60KMPH as the travel speed restrictions on Delhi roads, but I feel this is the good for 80% of my drive which is in city and rest 20% or 30%. Whatever we want to calculate on hills I think I’ll be OK.
@@WithSameerBhutani Thank you. I was bothered about just two things with Astor. Mileage & the lack of power, especially while overtaking on highways & while climbing uphill with four people inside. I intend buying the manual transmission, only to ensure, that I get adequate power while required. In the CVT variant, Iam told, that there is some lag in power generation & its transmission to the wheels. What about mileage in city ? If you could clarify.
Mileage in the city is from 6.5 to 18.5. If I have to explain better if I have covered less distance, for example my home to office which is 5 km I have seen average varies from 6.5 to 9 however, when I go on long rides, I’ve seen it going till 18.5 and I have the recorded videos of that so that makes my overall 12.5 at max. About overtaking yes I tried taking a truck and another truck was coming from the other side and I felt that I may crash but never happened but yeah, I feel little bit lower compared to my other car or compared to the cars out there. But 1500 cc is what I opted and I am ready to give away that overtaking power. It all depends what you opt for.
@@WithSameerBhutani For a MT, 6.5 kmpl in city is too less. I was expecting atleast 9-10 kmpl in city conditions. Secondly, one needs decent/adequate power on highways. It is not for racing. But at the same time, one needs some power while overtaking. It is just not possible to drive on highways without having to overtake at one time or the other, especially on one or two lane highways. One more thing what I can't understand about Astor is, despite the engine being underpowered, why is the mileage so less ?
Yes, they offer android car play and apple car play with wires function only. There are many third-party devices which makes it wireless, so I think you can opt for that.
Astor has a big problem. The controls of AC and other functions are in the infotainment itself. I want to keep the car for more than 5 years, if the system breaks, i cannot even replace it with a cheaper one. I'll have to pay more than 50k to replace. The hector's unit costs 80k. Paying so much for a stereo for a 5-6 year old car is stupid. Also, in all other cars, i can install another stereo, not in this because the ac and other functions will not work then. There is no info on spare part prices as well. I've heard they are very expensive unnecessarily. No price is provided online. What if 5-6 years down the line, the stereo breaks, won't be able to use the AC then. No one will buy the car when they come to know the stereo can't be changed and they are stuck with 5-7 year old tech whereas they can upgrade in another car if they want. This car feels like a use and throw product because of this. I cancelled the car because of this. The extended warranty is only for 5 years, beyond that one will have to pay to buy but availability of this exact model stereo is also in question. if car is discontinued, spares might take long, the car will be unusable in that case. In any other old car, i can get a latest or a cheap android installed in 5-6 years time, not in this.
Good point out, however, the AC can be controlled from long press of buttons also. Even I want to keep the car for not less than 8 years from now. So far this car runs good but yes I feel less power.
