Good morning Fresh Baked my son who is autistic really loved this ride. We want our next trip to Disneyland to be during Christmas time. Thank you for giveing us this adventure. We all enjoy watching your videos.
I always enjoy the *HM Holiday Overlay;* they do better and better every year, I love the gingerbread house, glad they put a 50 on it; to remind us of *HM Fifty Anniversary.*
I see that the nutcracker's mouth isn't synced to Madame Leota's spiel this year. I wonder if that's intentional or if it just wasn't working for you guys.
Thank you so much for sharing this video. The Haunted Mansion is my favorite ride at Disney but I have never seen the overlay at Halloween/Christmas. Not sure if I will be able to make it back to Disneyland so you help me be able to see what I have missed. Thank you so much. ❤❤
I loved the video for some reason I get more of a Christmas feeling rather Halloween in my opinion, I wish Disney could have left the nightmare before Christmas decorations for Christmas time.
What was the line like for you? I was there today and it never dipped below 50 minutes. I had some time to kill while my friends were in DCA so I finally got in line. 70 minute wait... It almost felt like they were loading slower than usual. Great ride, tho. The gingerbread smell during the ballroom scene... Smelled SO GOOD.
Just curious if anyone else noticed that in the "Dueling Portraits" in the ballroom, you can no longer see their pistols.... Wonder if it's due to the overlay or a PC move by Disney. Hmmm...
Wait, why are all the characters out in the loading bay. I thought the whole concept was that it was supposed to be like an event calendar with only one present opened each day.
Has the area been decorated outside of the Trail entrance too? I was trying to look for Halloween Time coverage from other vloggers and bloggers yesterday (I was sooo hoping Fresh Baked would have done a live stream). I saw a whole lot of food, and a few new little bits of decor in Cars Land and on Buena Vista Street. But I did not stick around long enough to see if anyone wandered over to the Grizzly Peak area. I know that the giant bear was holding a trick or treat bucket last year.
@@sherrye9156 The Redwood Creek Trail itself will blow your mind! It is AWESOME! The Disney Designers went over the top to bring us Family Friendly Halloween atmosfere!! I don't want to spoil the surprise for you, but it is a must see! I could never do it justice by describing what lurks in the forest. Also you must take a walk through the back side of Grizzly too. Over the bridge crossing the waterfall, and then on through to the water mill. Oh, and yes! The bear has his Mickey candy bucket too!
@@rhondasantos573 Thank you for the info! That sounds absolutely amazing, and I can't wait to get back to the parks! Halloween Time is my second favorite season at Disneyland Resort -- second only to the Holiday/Christmas season -- but I always want Disney to do more with Halloween... add more decor, more of everything, in more areas. I've been so pleased with what they have been doing with the season for the last couple of years, adding more decor in California Adventure, at the 3 hotels and in Downtown Disney. Grizzly Peak in general is an area just begging for some Halloween fun -- especially fog and spooky lights at night -- so anything they can add to that land would be a plus. I am one of the few who was sad when the old Big Thunder Ranch/Roundup in Disneyland had to close to make way for Galaxy's Edge, because that was a great location for Halloween and Christmas decor (and Spring/Easter too). So when Disney started putting Christmas decorations on the Challenge Trail, I thought that was a big step in the right direction, and I have been waiting for them to apply the same attention to the Trail for Halloween too!
Approximately 4 months, give or take a few days. It opens on the first day of Halloween Time every year -- so always within the first week or two of September -- and it closes on the last day of the Holiday/Christmas season, which is usually in early January. The specific calendar dates change from year to year but, this time around, Haunted Mansion Holiday runs from September 6th, 2019 - January 6th, 2020.
David Antunez Yeah, I know. What I mean is that usually they close down the HM so they can put up the overlay. It seems like they didn’t do it this year.
They will be back in February where they belong. But if you pay attention, The Hitchhiking Ghosts are in the ballroom scene hanging out by the Gingerbread Haunted Mansion.
I've only been on this once 3 years ago. Could you always see the Hatbox ghost? Or is this a nod to his popularity and the 50th anniversary of HM? I love that he is there. He always should be. Dualing paintings in ballroom? I feel like they don't normally leave that either? Anyone?
I also love that our favorite ghosts are by the haunted Mansion gingerbread house. They should never try to completely eliminate the actual HM during HMH. I'm sad I won't be able to ride original 1st week of November, but at least this year's HMH doesn't banish Gus, Ezra, and Phineus, nor Hatbox ghost. Haven't flown to California in 3 years. Went on Tower of Terror last time. Sigh.
I honestly like to think of it as actually rather heartwarming. Jack's ideas for Christmas aren't very good for Humans, but are perfect for Ghosts! (also, before you leave the stretching room, make sure to look up. They do make sure to show that the Ghost Host is still uh, "hanging around" if it were, in the attic.
I appreciate the detail of how you can still see how the Ghost Host’s body “hanging around” in the attic.
Honestly this is actually kinda heartwarming. Jack’s ideas of Christmas may not be very good for Humans, but are perfect for Ghosts!

I always love seeing what little things they add to the Christmas decorations every year
It stays around waaayyyyyy too long I’m so happy to see it go every year and go back to the OG mansion
I always enjoy the *HM Holiday Overlay;* they do better and better every year, I love the gingerbread house, glad they put a 50 on it; to remind us of *HM Fifty Anniversary.*
My favorite rendition of this ride!!! I love counting all the vampire teddies!
I love this years ride. I haven't been in like 4 years so thx for sharing this with us. The Gingerbread House this year is awesome.
The gingerbread house is amazing this year :)
Good ride through. I can almost smell the gingerbread.
This was an absolutely amazing job filming this, David! It's the best filming of the gingerbread house I've seen! Excellent!!! xoxo
The ginger bread house this year is amazing!!
The ghosts on it even disappear and reappear as you move past them!
disney needs to make more movies based around Halloween. There's never enough
Love this video. Decorating with Nightmare Before Christmas for Halloween.

The queue music is the best isnt it
Please don't remove this video. This is the best version of HMH ever.
I like the new jack dialogue in the graveyard
Gingerbread house is extra meta this year, I see. 😃
I see that the nutcracker's mouth isn't synced to Madame Leota's spiel this year. I wonder if that's intentional or if it just wasn't working for you guys.
Oh my the video quality is outstanding! I’m so ready for my trip next month!! Thank you for posting! 🖤🧡🖤🧡

Went on it last night. Was so good! I love all the little details.
I loved the video for some reason I get more of a Christmas feeling rather Halloween in my opinion, I wish Disney could have left the nightmare before Christmas decorations for Christmas time.

Hello Fresh Baked!
Thank god for Florida
Good morning from French Camp ca!! I always get so sad when leaving the Haunted Mansion lol😂
Hey Fresh Baked!!
Wait, why are all the characters out in the loading bay. I thought the whole concept was that it was supposed to be like an event calendar with only one present opened each day.
I like this but much prefer the original version thank god for WDW keeping the original
I AM DYING FOR YOU TO SEE REDWOOD CREEK TRAIL!!! IT IS AMAZING !!!

does anyone know how long is this overlay is generally up for?

Until early January
thx guys! i'm headed out there in November and was curious which version I'd get.
at night the ride line seem longer n i can smell the ginger now
The Haunted Mansion's 50th anniversary this year
I wish they wouldn’t have kept the howling werewolf. It ruined it for me but I still enjoyed it
I swear this ride popped out of nowhere. Did they even close down Haunted Mansion?
This is the haunted mansion its an overlay
David Antunez Yeah, I know. What I mean is that usually they close down the HM so they can put up the overlay. It seems like they didn’t do it this year.
Hey FreshBaked! You guys gonna be there tomorrow, September 8th?

Me and my boyfriend will be there on Wednesday.
was this video shot recently or an older one
This is Sept 6. This year. That's why the gingerbread house said 50th anniversary (for Haunted Mansion).
WHERE IS THE BRIDE AND THE HITCHHIKING GHOST 😕
They will be back in February where they belong.
But if you pay attention, The Hitchhiking Ghosts are in the ballroom scene hanging out by the Gingerbread Haunted Mansion.

Ever since his addition in 2k15, the hatbox ghost has been featured in the holiday overlay as well. The duelling portraits have always been left in
I like the original better. But this version might be less scary for kids.
I agree I don’t really like the overlay
I was hoping due to the 50th and the cut backs, they wouldn’t do it this year.
Same
Ugh

I'm so glad that Magic Kingdom doesn't do this. The 50th anniversary of haunted mansion and they disrespect it
HATE this version of the Haunted Mansion
Dang
I prefer the original
