I am a mother of two; just doing my best to raise Godly children and find joy doing it. I am a busy wife as I strive to make intentional parenting my goal while making my relationship with my husband my priority. My passion is teaching and I find myself hoarding most teaching/office supplies in my closets. I love to teach the Gospel of Jesus Christ, my kiddos, and History. All my other interests can fit nicely into one word: Pinterest. I love baking, decorating, dreaming, making, free fun printables, motivational quotes, tips, tricks, and ideas by the millions. Lastly, I have an unwavering testimony of Jesus Christ and base my entire life around His Gospel; The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. This channel is dedicated first to my husband who is my better half and to my mother who inspired it all.
Thanks for Watching!
Great review. I think it will be a very helpful video for those wanting to have a peek before purchasing.
Thanks for your video is very helpful! 👍👍👍👍👍💕
You're welcome! I'm glad it was helpful!
Thank you for sharing about the printing service! So many times I've looked at these purchasable printables but the printing at home or office store seems so expensive! This printing service guy mentioned sounds affordable!
It was so helpful from you liked it ,you described the curriculum very well pros and cons thank you so much for very good review.good luck .
Thanks so much for your comment. Glad I could help a little
Really great review and thank you for going in depth it helps when deciding whether this is the right way for us. I was wondering you mentioned you did 3 days a week instead of 5, about how many of the activities did you do in a day then? And how long did it take? Also since you said you only did 3 days, on the other days were you doing something different or were those days just a break?
Hello friend! You're so welcome. Great questions. So I did maybe 3 or 4 activities a day with this curriculum. And on the other days we did nothing "school" related. I mean, we did life. And on some days that would mean playing in the kitchen, but other times it meant mom had chores and errands so, that's what we did. :)
With the Printing company u use when u put in a order for 1700 pages in color its says $114.00 how do u do it to get it for around 25-50 and have color prints?
Good point. I forgot to mention. I don't actually print every single page out. I just picked out the letter sets and the lesson plans to bring down my cost.
I think I only had around 1,000 copies total when I was done.
So it's possible to only print out what you will use? I was wondering this before I purchased. I won't need to print everything... Also can you only print a month at time?
Maybe instead of doing all of the activities every week, it could be rotated so that it's not so repetitive. Combining is a good idea too, I am looking at buying this and the one from The Measured Mom.
It’s true. I’ve learned so much in the last few years since I filmed this video. Spreading it out makes the activities last a lot longer and not seem so repetitive! It’s still a great product and I am using it again with my 3rd child now.
She has the math set too.
Hello! I know that each child is different, but in your opinion would this curriculum be suitable for a 2 year old? Or should I wait til my son turns 3 to start? Did you use a specific curriculum when your children were 2 years old?
You know your child best! I have started mine when they were/are 2 because it is such a hands on, game like introduction to the alphabet. You can easily pick and choose your activities and leave out the ones that are a little too difficult. I don't really add another "curriculum" to this other than just fun games for numbers and letters.
you can buy this as a computer cd too.
Its true! And, if you have a great color printer, you can print them at home as well. I love HP Insta Ink for this kind of stuff!
I needed to buy a good printer. thanks for the suggestion
What is the c.d for??
Also i noticed the website offers a Pre-K 4 program how do i choose between the two?
My son will be 4 in May, he knows his colors however does not know the alphabet, numbers.
Jade. Honestly, I didn't love the K4 program. I'll need to do a product review of this program. The Letters of the Week is GREAT for beginning preschooling. I start my kids YOUNG! (It's the teacher in me) And I love this program. The K4 was a no brainer purchase because I love the Letters of the Week so much. I planned to use it this year with my 4 year old but found that I was never going to the curriculum for work. it is just not as cute to look at and just didn't do what I wanted it to do.
I would recommend the Letters of the Week for your 4 year old. It'll teach him the alphabet and numbers in a super fun and super cute way. AANNDD its easy for you to organize "school time" because the work is really done for you!
What were some of the issues you had with the K4 curriculum? Did you feel it prepared your child for kindergarden?
Here ya go Jade. I made a video for K4 to help explain it a little. Hope this helps. ruclips.net/video/J3cUaJCVbZk/видео.html
thank you so much!!
I’m going to search her page, but can you add the link to her video you mentioned? You said it would be included or in the “i” but I don’t see it here. Thank you!
Grace Obe well well, aren't I silly. I never noticed and this is a year old!!! Thanks for the heads up. Her website is here.store.confessionsofahomeschooler.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=70_71&products_id=180
Can i use this curriculum in kindergarten for teaching kg 1 ?
Sure! If your students do not know the alphabet or their sounds, or the numbers 1-10 this is a great teaching tool for that. Once your students know these skills you’ll need to find a different resource as this curriculum really doesn’t develop into pre reading or kindergarten math at all.
how much does this curriculum cost to laminate the worksheets?
how long does it take to prep the work before starting?
I purchased a laminator for about $30 and then laminated on some of the pages. The laminator pockets can be purchased on Amazon for a reasonable price. To try and stretch the number of pockets I was using, I did laminate few of the pages on just one side. Truthfully, I got laminated almost everything for one letter, and then realized that everything didn't need to be laminated and was pretty picky and what was and was not laminated.
Set up can take a while. I sat on the floor for probably 6 hours over several nights to prep one month worth of work. (4 letters). It's time consuming for sure. After that I just prepped the week of. Much more manageable that way. And I was laminating less so it only took about an hour.
I hope that helps.
Full Purpose And Heart. thank you. your review has helped me out so much!!
Not a fan of the COAH products. Unlike other homeschool products, you aren't automatically included in the updates and are expected to pay again if she updates the product at all. Won't purchase again. Bought the curriculum and no longer have access to it. Very frustrating and disappointing. Huge waste of money for us.
There are a lot of curriculums out there. It's true. One of the blessings of homeschooling is finding what works for you, right? It's all a trial and error. I too have spent money on curriculum that didn't work well for my kids. It's just life. I appreciate that there are affordable options out there for new homeschooling families. :)
