- Welcome or welcome back! ❤️
It's time for chapter 2 of the dissertation! I talk all about my research related to vlogs, embodiment, and feminism, focusing especially on audience awareness. I share what I'm reading and how I'm thinking about applying it to my dissertation chapter. I also share some ~feelings~ about comparison and rejection.

I absolutely love listening to you talk about your research! We can get super stuck in our own research interests, so listening to yours is super fun (also because it's a very interesting research topic in itself!)
Also the date outfit was so cute!!

What a great vlog, Sarah! I often analyze human activity on Twitter and how there is somewhat of an invisibility factor on that platform. My observation deduces that people aren't aware of their posted quips because they can't physically see their audience in front of them and often don't think about the message's potential reach. Is that an embodiment factor? Even with public profiles, individuals seem to believe they're posting in a vacuum. The consequent "Oh, I didn't know this would take off" posts are fascinating.
Thanks for watching! Yes! It’s fascinating!
I had no idea rhet/comp research at the PhD level could touch on sociology, social psychology, and qualitative probability and statistics. Very interesting research.
I strongly feel that you are always calm LUCKY YOU!!
I can assure it’s the celexa & hydroxizine combo! 🥲
@@SarahFischerVlogsno matter what wish you best 😊
I'm doing my masters right now and I am literally so scared about the dissertation part since I consider myself the most social-anxiety-filled person ever. ;__; but your videos are inspiring!
Thank you so much!
Good luck with the masters!
OMG! That winery outfit was sooooo cute!! No idea you had a boyfriend too, congratulations 🥰
oooh just saw the next clip... he cute!!
Hahaha 🥰
It’s always so tricky when you are “competing” with your friends for awards/fellowships. Always bittersweet.
bittersweet exactly! Some time away has turned it more sweet than bitter!
I really enjoy these vlogs a lot and find them motivating! Thank you for all your honesty! I’m researching Victorian literature and I’m interested in the concept of embodiment especially the “becoming aware of one own’s body” and was wondering if you have any sources you would recommend to get into this theory. Thank you! 😊
Thanks so much for watching! The people I cite are mostly in Rhetoric and Composition, but Abby Knoblauch would be a great place to start :)
@@SarahFischerVlogs Thank you so much for you reply and help! 💖 I really appreciate it! Good luck with everything! 😊
They’ll likely have you apply the coupon code online to think you’re getting a deal but will in reality recoup that cost by altering your shipping cost. 😂
omg this makes sense!
I also ask myself, “Am I doing too many new things?” and I’m just writing an undergraduate thesis…
writing is so hard :')
I want to be an English community college professor. I will hopefully start my masters degree this summer. My question is do you need a state teaching certification like k-12 teachers or no? I have my bachelors in education but teaching k-12 wasn’t for me and I would rather teach adults.
Ooooh this is a good question that I do not know the answer to!
To teach community college, you don’t need a state teaching license. The practices will help, but the masters degree within the content area or masters plus 18 graduate hours in the content area.
