I'm 45 years old. $14,500, and I'm retired. This video has inspired me greatly in many ways that I remember my past of how I struggled with many things in life to be where I am today!!!!

I joined the navy in 1966. I'm from Georgia and went to boot camp in San Diego California. I saw my first small truck there. It was a Datsun. I thought they were neat.

Not all Corvair pickups had side ramps.

I don't understand why the author of this video thought that "round" headlights were somehow unique to small pickups and automobiles. At one time, U.S. laws specifically required that headlights be round in shape. From 1940 until 1956, two 7" diameter sealed beam bulbs were permitted (one on each side). Beginning in 1957, four 5.75" diameter bulbs (one "low beam", one "high beam" on each side) were permitted. It wasn't until 1975 that rectangular bulbs were allowed. Composite headlamp assemblies weren't allowed until 1984.

Your AI narrator got a little drunk there at about the 42:39 mark. 😂

Also at 13:33. I am in Asia at the moment. Was waiting for the locals sitting nearby to perk up and start asking where they could find an Econoline, lol.

I put a 1275 GT engine and front suspension/brakes on my Mini pickup. A lengthened RG40 exhaust was needed. Cut the fuel tank and baffled it and welded it up. Did add as seen in the video a roll cage. Used scaffolding poles bent n welded. With 45° strengthening supports. Helps with shudder when cornering.

Turning the Corvair into a truck wasn't a well thought-out idea. I would just love having to unload all my cargo on the side of the road just to access the engine.

It’s amazing how much incorrect information can be found on the internet, including most of this video. The rampside was discontinued in 1964. Most of the pictures that were shown were modified vehicles including one that was electric! There never was a production electric Corvair. You really should do some research before you post your video, but I guess you just want views and don’t care about accuracy.

Nothing can be done today to bring back the small trucks of yesteryear. If you're lucky to have one keep it you may need it later.

The idea of this video is GOOD - but unfortunately the result is NOT GOOD.
In addition to the fact that many of the cars are not among the smallest pick ups at all, there are many incorrect years and other incorrect information - and why have you chosen video clips of cars that are EITHER in a very bad condition OR heavily modified? Try again - and next time please remember the very important DKW Schnellaster!!

I don't know what's going on with your narrator, but it sounds like occasionally switching to what sounds a bit like Mandarin and then when he's talking about the mini pickup variant sounded like he had a stroke...
