DK64's like a prog rock song from the 70s. Really long and with a lot of different parts, sometimes you come back to a specific part a few times, sometimes it meanders around, mostly it sounds good but you tend to zone out because of the length, you're rarely sure whether you're nearing the end or not. Actually the base game has the option to turn cutscenes on or off. It's on by default, and you have to manually turn it off. I think the hack may have turned cutscenes off by default.

I 100% agree on his stance that the graphical emphasis on gaming is making it too expensive. It does little to add to the experience at this point. In fact, it doesn't really add to it all. Ryan Stiles i also enjoyed, who was a friend of Colin's before the show. Occasionally you'd get comedians who wouldn't know what to do but overall the improv was a lark. Like one time a young Rory Bremner was on and didn't say much but he's a political satirist and impressionist. Clive Anderson hasn't changed a bit, which is weird considering the show finished in 99' the same year DK64 released. The Drew Carey USA version was like a continuation i guess, started in 98'. Drew Carey can show up at your house in one of the original Sims expansion packs, if you have a party. I didn't mean to read like a wiki page 😂
It's part of the randomizer framework that this "Vanilla Game But Better" preset uses. It's just there to save time waiting for the animation to finish. It turns what takes 4-5 seconds to only take about half a second.
I didn't get to see Queen (in their original form) live. They are my favorite band, so that would have been awesome! However, I DID get to see Queen+Adam Lambert twice, and it was amazing! Adam does a fantastic job, and in his own way but still fits with their music well, and is very respectful of Freddie's legacy.

Hear me out, as a massive Kingdom Hearts fan, genuinely my favorite thing is to watch people just rip it a new one making fun of it during a first playthrough. I don't really enjoy watching people playing the game taking it extremely seriously because... I already play the games taking them seriously on my own time. Even then i still laugh at the absurdity and thats all part of the appeal. The OneyPlays playthrough of Kingdom Hearts 1 is some of the funniest shit i've ever seen. They don't "get it" like a super fan gets it, and that's awesome. But I still reapect Vinny for choosing not to give it a try. I also turn down trying media things that people tell me I HAVE to watch/play for similar reasons.

Because nobody moves a big console game to silly little handheld titles. Especially not every console, which would cost close to a thousand dollars for their presumable audience to keep up with. And a web browser game only available in Japan. Surely they'd just have the whole story easy to follow when 3 finally comes out, right? Like, what company would expect that of a kid's game with Disney characters? Surely the random Deviantart inflation stuff is just people's OCs with silly names like Aqua, surely they haven't introduced 90 percent of the lore in a way that most of their initial audience would never see... right???? So watching Vinny get lost would be cathartic and fun.
I actually love dk64, but I hate gloomy gallon, but I love the stage boss puff-toss. The stage is just too big, and I get easily lost easily and mini games like maze. I never made it to fungi forest or ice cavern level. I have seen people like joel play ice cavern. It looks bigger and tougher than the gloomy gallon, never issue with bananas, and i think I would have like both creepy castle and fungi forest but this level and the open world golden bananas and mini games.
It would be fun, but also consider that he doesn't have an encyclopedic knowledge of the game and every possible location for bananas/items. I think it could be successful if he had a guiding hand, like someone who frequently does the randomizers, otherwise the stream could grind to a halt based on how lucky Vin gets with where Kongs and Moves generate

This game is notorious for wasting your time backtracking to switch characters. A significant portion of your time playing ends up being traveling to and from the character swap barrels.
And another brainbuster is, why play a randomizer that removes cutscenes from the game that might show you what to do or where to go? This playthrough is basically "chat what now?" the game. Only because "dis camera is baed I need randomizer chat plz give me safefile I need the GUD CAMERA!"
Because some games have aged not so gracefully. A little bit of quality of life is always appreciated, especially for older games. As long as these mods don't change the vanilla experience too much and just improve the experience, it's fine.
