Great review as always, thank you :-) The center tunnel in the rear is all batteries. The footwell in the rear is a carve-out so that legs are supported and your feet are not wedged under the seat. So only those footwells are carved out, the rest is batteries ;-)
Hopefully next time you go to Europe they'll be nice and let you drive the cars. That's what they're for right? What a lovely car Paul. Can I make a request? Can you show us getting into the car? I for one have a problem entering lower cars and this interests me to see.
You should make the title like "porche technician talks about Porche Taycan cross turismo" , cuz i had no idea that you were one. Plus It would bring in a lot more people to watch your videos.
Testers aren't explaining what the height of the underfloor battery must have on the cabin layout, you looked uncomfortable sitting with your knees up toward the roof. Your explanation of the Taycan on the test track was very good.
Having sat in the back of the Taycan XT and a Tesla Model 3, I can tell you that the Taycan is a much nicer and more comfy place to sit. The cut away batteries in the floor to form the foot garage make it much more suitable for longer journies than the Mod 3 which feels like a medieval torture device by comparison. 👍🏻
A good looking spec.... Only seen in the Porsche world... White on white... But I prefer the GTS Sport Wagon... But this is cool too.... It's performance is insane... 2.2 seconds or even 2 seconds... And it's much better than the Tesla model S in quality
For me the Cross 4S is the sweetspot for the off-road / out of town version, nice alternative to a Cross Country or A6 Allroad And the GTS version for urban / motorway / track conditions and a great alternative to an RS6 Avant In the Cross I’ve ordered the Compass instead of Track-Timer and the Burmester is even better than the Bose, but it’s a pity they both reduce the bout space by about 50litres It’s very tempting to get a fully loaded Jag I-Pace for less than half the price, but it’s twice the car 🚙👍🏻
It’s not capacitive touch on the screen that allows you to “feel” the tapping. It’s haptic feedback like on an iPhone. Resistive touch is what older phones (pre-2007) had where pressure was required to operate the screen touch. Smartphone mirroring shows exactly what you see on your Phone screen, on the external display such as when mirroring to your TV. CarPlay shows a variation of the screen with only certain apps in a certain format. It’s not mirrored. So just call it CarPlay (or Android Auto).
I would never want to detail those wheels. I do my wheels daily when weather prevails. The sad realism is all cars look great when spotless. Reality is only 4X4 Trucks, Jeeps, Rally Cars look ok when dirty.
FYi those fake wheel arch vents are because of the power-operated charging port doors. On cars with the manually-operated charging doors, the wheel arch vents are real. So the side of your car can get good and dirty :)
Now those are some tiny coffee cups. Reminds me of 1980’s coffee TOGO. If you see the Ridiculous Sized Drinks Americans walk around with on the daily and think nothing of spending $7 for a Coffee drinks. And most get several through out the day! They wonder where the added weight comes from.
@@Robert-cu9bm true, there were no birds in Falcons or naval officers in Commodores. However when it come to cars I generally thought the word turbo meant something. It’s like we are back in the 80s & labelling something as a turbo means it is hot stuff.
It's funny how EVs are all about power management and maximizing the battery's effective range... but then went ahead and waste energy with 4 screens, powered seat, powered door handle, powered charging port door, etc.
@@Robert-cu9bm That comment isn't useful. You need to do some research about how such things actually work. There seems to be a lack of knowledge and scepticism from people who haven't used or owned such vehicles. I live in Norway, and own 2 electric vehicles. Seems expoensive for what you get tbh, few software issues, range anxiety etc. Rather buy a 911 (if I had the money) while gas cars are still around. But they need to start somewhere, this car is going to be sick in 5-10 years.

Paul, enjoy your reviews. Please stick to Metric, as I am 58yo Australian, and only, was educated in METRIC. So I don't understand, when you talk in any other measurement. You appear to be younger than me, so don't know why you would give other metrics???? The Metric system was introduced in 1974, in Australia. So

I wouldn’t, I think they’re a great car, it made other manufacturers accelerate their programs once they saw how popular they were. I think it’s time for Tesla to focus on the more important work of residential solar tech and further development of the powerwall, show power companies that it’s their best chance of making profit as fossil fuel profits diminish.
It is INCOMPLETE when there is no review on range and charging test. Kind of useless really. Don’t need to hear ride quality. It’s Porsche. It is expected to be good.
I love the design, but I favour the normal Taycan more. Brilliant review none the less. Kudos to you and the team.

I get mine around June - and ticked so many boxes 🤭 can’t wait!
Holy hell, I hadn’t even realised these had arrived yet, wow.
This is my favourite Porsche, as far as design goes. It’s stunning in that colour combo too.
Been in Aus since October 👍

White with White Wheels is a good looking spec.
just to clarify the taycan does not share a platform with the panamera. it has its own bespoke ev platform.
You’re right - sorry about that!
Nice Videos Paul
Awesome car and loved rims 👍👍🔥🔥
Finally a solution for passengers that can't reach for the center display three centimetres away!
Buying soon.

Can you do a review of the Audi Q5 and one of the Porsche Macan?

When r u doing xc40 full electric review
Nice car but I hate all the screens. Touch screen controls are a stupid idea in a car yet they keep doing it.
Confusing, it’s called a turbo but it does not have an engine or a turbo?

In what world is this car even trying to compete with the roadster? That's like comparing a Volvo estate car to a Ferrari.
