Excited for the upcoming reviews and you ever watch Phil throw he's like a two-finger thrower and he throws it right where the stem meets the dart crazy
I love Phil Taylor darts, the length however isn’t 47,1 but 41,17 I believe… also the video shows Phil throwing a Gen4 model (Legacy World Champion Limited Edition) I believe he never used Gen 5 or higher in the PDC. The Vapor S flights are to small for my taste so I use a Vapor flight. Now I am still using his unicorn phase 5 darts with slikstick stem and pear flights as my matchdarts. Thanks for yet another fun video to watch and looking forward to the Gen 8 review.
Yeah, I got a bit dyslexic when it came to the length. I even paused when I said it because I was thinking 47mm wasn't really short. Oops 😂 The video clip was just random. I do recall he was supposed to use different sets for each match but he stuck with only 2. You could see the number on some of the close up shots.
Great review as always. I actually won a set of the Gen 1 Power 95 darts directly from Target on Facebook several years back. They came with those super small custom flights he uses. The flight and shaft were the first thing I replaced. I shot 2 seasons of league with that setup!
Thanks! I probably should have tried a different flight and stem combo just to get them to fly a bit more consistent but I can't really complain about my 5 turns there. Better than about 90% of my videos... even with the odd angles of entry. I'll take it 😂😂
I own the Phil Taylor Gen 3 (24g), Legacy (Gen 4, 26g) and just ordered the Gen 5's in 26grams. I have been using my Gen 3's (with full sized No. 6 flights) and my original RVB 95's in 25g lately. I kept the Legacy's on used in their box, but I do open it every now and then to give them an admiring look. LOL! The grip, similar to my RVB95's attracted me to these even if they're years old...
I threw a 7.8 thick darts… best accuracy I’ve ever gotten, when I was off on thin darts. They where the one80 G 23g from Amazon. They’re the budget phil Taylor’s in my opinion.
I have had the 24g version for a couple of weeks now, my scoring has improved, and my throw is far better. The stems and flights I have changed, I use extra short stems and kite flights. I found the small flights made mine go different angles, but dead straight with my setup. I am hitting a few 180's a day and changed my stance, hold and throw to accommodate the shortness of these. Overall and excellent dart and as I said, I am playing far better darts now.
I play with these darts, I use a long stem and standard flight they fly pretty good. I could never use those tiny flights my darts would go every direction. As you mentioned the nitrate coating on the back doesn't last too long but still my go to set of darts! Great video as always 👍
A great looking dart I definitely think the issue you were having with the darts was down to the setup those flights are unforgiving changing that would make a big difference I think
Playing with the Gen 2 i have also realized how bizarre the angle can get But im experimenting with trying to force it to get the angles because it has helped me get through to the T20 with a dart in the way more often than i would with any other darts In my opinion, it can probably be mastered, depending on your throw type (mine is close to phil taylor's style, standing sideways looking down the shoulder, maybe that is what helps me)
Thank you, im currently contemplating the gen 10s or these via Amazon that are currently going for £76, they was £123 just recently but i like to obsessively collect things so i might get both in the long run 🙃😂
@@WorldwideDarts Oh damn i made the move and went for the gen 5s just after I posted this message but thank you for that I'll check them out next time and also thank you for the content, much appreciated.
I throw the Harrows Ace darts very well! I’ve moved off of the to more professional darts but every now and then I’ll throw the ACE darts (wide rubber coated brass darts) and still hit with great accuracy. I can’t explain it. It just happens.
I've experienced the same weird darts angle with the Unicorn Phase 5 (pretty close shape)...i guess that's come from the balance between the huge front barrel, the massive grip and the tiny rear flight...
It's the grip design that caught my attention initially; seems very inviting to hold & throw. Then there's the nice barrel ends, and good looking points. Nice set of darts; though i'd still prefer, personally, straight barrel types. Btw, it always delight me to see you throw different design of darts where you seem to be unbothered by their varying weights, maintaining your consistency of throw over them. I wonder how you do it. I mean, i've always use 24grams & would always have wayward throws should i switch to sets with lesser grams. Anyway, another nice vid, Sir. Thank you.
that happens with me with certain flights and stem length i use a 25 grams with pear flights shouldn't work really but best feel for me and i tried them all
I almost think that if I used my stems and flights they would have flown a bit better but I certainly can't complain about the 5 turns I had. Better than usual.
Thanks for the review, I've been after a set of these, as you said it's such a shame a nice looking dart gets scuffed up so easily, such a short dart too, I think with a longer stem & different flight set up, they probably throw a bit better, Great video as always 👍
I have also these darts (in 22g), I had my best leg with them (11 darts). It's really difficult to throw with them. I am not using them, because I like longer darts, I am used to hold the dart with 4 fingers, it's not possible with these.
Awesome nice 180 I was thinking of purchasing a set but was worried about the weight and shape now at that price I think I'll hold off...but I do like a lot of target products
What's your opinion about these stems? They look nifty, but is there a practical benefit to them? I watched your review on a variety of plastic stems, but I haven't yet seen the purpose of these addressed. Also, what's your take on the Swiss points?
These stems hold the flight incredibly well. You never have to worry about the flights popping off so that's a bonus. On the downside they're heavy! About 2.3 grams per stem. So I'm definitely not a fan of that. I'm on the fence with the Swiss points. At first I hated them and thought it was a massive gimmick. But they do offer some benefits. You can change to many different points if you want. For example, at home you could use a smooth silver or black point and then when you go to a tourney or league you could switch to a slightly more aggressive point if the boards are bad.
Great review as all ways. Yes its to bad that dart cost so much. And as soon as you throw them, they get scuff up. Ever think the one dart that weighed .08 more could have been the dart that was up and kicking out could have been a problem? Well nice review anyways.
Thanks Paul. Yeah, good point about the one oddball dart. But it was happening with all darts for the entire 5 minutes I was warming up. All 3 darts would sometimes be pointed in different directions and that is extremely odd for me. Usually my darts go in dead straight no matter what darts i'm reviewing. Every so often I come across a set of darts that gives me a hard time for whatever reason. The last ones I recall doing that were the Gerwyn Price darts. I couldn't throw them to save my life. What's strange with these darts is they still somehow went straight and scored well. I don't throw too much better than I did in this video. It's rare when I average something like this over 5 or 6 turns for a video
Like yourself my darts land flat. Phil is obviously the king of this style of play so I've tried 2 or 3 of his bomber style darts through the years but just like they did for you, they just fly in at every angle possible no matter what I do, very strange and very annoying. So its a straight long barrell all the way for me lol
@@paddykeefer6345 mardle said its a misconceived notion that Phil lobbed the dart, may have looked that way on tv but he reckons he threw it hard and straight, maybe a slight rise but not enough to define as a lob but you are right in that worldwide and I prob throw it a tad harder than the great one did, resulting in the funny angles of entry👍
Try standing back farther to see if it helps I have a heavy set of tank darts and for some reason if I stand like a foot back I can hit bull's eyes all day 😆
I have a giant wall right behind me. Hell, I'm already about an inch too close to the board as it is. Hopefully moving in the next year or so and the new place is HUGE!! So much room 👍🏻

my dad bought these and based on what l saw on the webshop l thought its a waste of money. turned out completely different in real life than l anticipated. completely love it. threw more triple 20s in the first 10 minute sessioin with it, than in my last week with my regular ones. only downside is that l have relatively high bounce out rate due to its sometimes weird angles, so its risky to group (maybe different flight/shaft would solve this). but throwing these is like 3 times more fun, than my other darts

I throw on the same way only with straight shape darts...👍
That is a sweet looking set of darts!

the grip and colors remember me at the barneys, always nice darts, thanks for the review

Taylor switched to those larger vapor flights for a reason. His darts were hanging down too much before.

Anyone else notice his throw style is kinda weird like he forces a left eye dominate throw?
Great video showing the good and the not so…

My guess is the weight of the dart barrel is pushing it up “after” impact.
Yeah, it was just bizarre. Every so often I run into a dart that just doesn't fly right. The last one I remember was the Gerwyn Price darts.
