    I just tried this and it turned out GORGEOUS (I spray painted it gold). So fun and relaxing. I'm amazed at how you figured out the folds to end up with this. Well done and thank you!

      oh fab that would be brilliant. remember shorter books will give you smaller pot body they make it look more like a teapot. and my spout is a bit low too my sister used to work in a cafe she said if the spout is low you cant fill the pot up or it comes out the spout and burns you before you fill it up ha ha ha

      If you turn it UPSIDE DOWN it becomes the hot air balloon. This is a very popular fold. Try the doll fold this makes a stunning gift.

    • @AlisonRussellsCrochetChannel
      @AlisonRussellsCrochetChannel  6 лет назад

      Sherrie, this fold also makes the hot air balloon if you turn it upside down. and the mouse if you only fold half the amount. The mouse is better if you use a very small paperback like a Mills and Boon type book.

    Thank you for taking the time to show us this. Very clear description. My daughter is turning 30 next year and wants a Alice in wonderland themed party and I think these would make lovely table decorations. Need to find your T Cup one now.

    • @AlisonRussellsCrochetChannel
      @AlisonRussellsCrochetChannel  8 лет назад

      The tea cup is easy just a bit fiddly to fold at the end as it gets tight. If you do the hollow cup Iv found the more pages you do the better it looks so do at least 50 more than what I said. I need to edit that one to tell people because mine went a bit limp after a few weeks. ha ha ha ha

    • @AlisonRussellsCrochetChannel
      @AlisonRussellsCrochetChannel  8 лет назад +2

      yes I did struggle a bit. Sometimes depending on the paper you need less folds, sometimes a bit more if its thin paper. I think 90% of people struggle at the end of every book fold. I have a lot of book folding friends and I am in a good few facebook groups and most if not all struggle with the last dozen or so folds.

      almost all on my channel especially the object folded ones like the teapots, balloon, doll, candles and cups don't have patterns you just need to demonstrate the page fold. Only the heart has a pattern you can download book folding patters on google for free too. There are a few free ones in the files on my craft group Type into Facebook search the word Craftytwunts you will find the free craft group I run.

    • @AlisonRussellsCrochetChannel
      @AlisonRussellsCrochetChannel  8 лет назад

      no i just drew it on paper until i was happy with the shape then cut a few out and glued them together or cut it out in card. Ha ha ha I has 20 odd bits of paper until i got what i wanted. but sadly i did not keep the pattern try google tea pot spout and tea pot handle drawings. you might get lucky there.

    • @AlisonRussellsCrochetChannel
      @AlisonRussellsCrochetChannel  6 лет назад

      If the book is 23cm the body of the pot will be 23cm I may have said inches instead of cm Ha ha I'm 55 and my brain still tries to work on imperial the old measurements in the UK.

    • @AlisonRussellsCrochetChannel
      @AlisonRussellsCrochetChannel  3 года назад

      yes the height of the book will determine the height of the finished pot, shorter books will make small dumpy tea pots tall ones will make it more like a Victorian coffee pot. just keep folding until you are happy with it.

      I tell everyone you can use any book so the height is up to you and fold until you are happy with it that's the best way as lots of books have diffrent thicknesses of paper so some will need less folds some more. The best thing to do is choose your book and fold until you are happy with it.
