    I saw sandbox do this with the Albany symphony. I’ve been surveying all the recordings of this piece and some of them are not super rhythmically locked in. I was listening to this one and upon hearing the start of the second movement exclaimed to myself “wow, why does this sound so good?” Then I realised it was Sandbox and wasn’t surprised anymore.
    I must say, I think of the four versions the orchestra one is best written. The climax of the second movement is much more exciting than in this sinfonietta version and the immediate introduction of piccolos in the first movement is effective. This is still obviously an excellent performance, though - Sandbox doesn’t play with just anyone.

    Love this! The piano is a bit too strong in this mix when it comes in but other than that, lovely
