There are cheaper ones on the market. I think I said it in the video but the main reason I went with this one was because it’s designed to be put in the truck instead of under the hood or somewhere else outside the car. You can get regular generic surge tanks on eBay for less than $200 if that isn’t a concern. 👍
@@BadLuckGarage ya I was looking at the eBay dual one for $225. Dual 450s should do 1750 HP at the crank which is about 1230 HP to the wheels. I do not think I would ever go over that.
Yes yes yes thank u you are so right on the fittings they been doing this for years. And you always give a honest review on what you bye . Gr8 vid 👍 shod be no problem fitting it that I can see . Famous last words😠😂😁 Take care love from the uk🇬🇧
yeah they are better in the hatch space to keep the fuel temps down... Id only be concerned about snapping a line in a side corner impact accident. i have a single pump surge for a 450 but im mounting it towards the middle front of the hatch to keep it safe. Im also adding an emergency cut off switch that i can reach just incase of a leak of any kind. that and a (fuel) cool can to keep temps down and its good to go. good stuff
If I get hot from the side at the drag strip then fuel leakage is probably going to be the least of my worries. 🤣 But the fire system will come after the roll cage is installed. As explained in the video, this tank also has a safety switch that can be installed and sends a 5v signal if file level drops more than about 1” below the top. This will trigger my Holley ecu to not only shut down the pumps, but all over systems as well. And currently I already have a safety setup to shut down if fuel pressure drops below 30psi after our last escapade at the drag strip a few months ago. 👍
It’s submersible hose. There’s a difference between regular fuel line and submersible fuel line. 😉 I 100% do NOT recommend using regular fuel hose inside your fuel tank.
@@BadLuckGarage ahhhh okay. That's good to know. I'm looking at a few tanks, what do you think of the Nuke performance tank 3.0 for the walbro's? What are your power goals???
Nuke is the company that offered me a discount to do a video with their tank. I chose this one instead for the reasons I mentioned in the video. There is no real HP goal for this car other than “beyond four digits”. This car is going to be a mainstay on this channel and will just continue to grow and get faster. It’s the only vehicle in the channel without a real goal or budget.
Because you’re only using all the fuel volume of the pumps in the surge tank for a few seconds at a time, and during those few seconds they have the entire volume of fuel in the surge tank to draw from.
I agree and I explained that in the video. but it didn’t come with a -10 fitting, it came with a -8. That was also explained in the video. It was my only complaint with this unit.
The rubber hose you used doesn't look like the ones that come with the 450 pumps. I hope it's not I know of 2 youtubers and myself that that the cheap hose blow out in the fuel tank. Just wondering. Thanks for the video.
Absolutely. It’s actually one of the pumps listed to use with this surge tank. 👍 I would have already been using the 525 pumps if I hadn’t gotten such a good deal on the set of 450 pumps I installed in the video.
Excellent description of the product, you nailed a lot of the finer details that most people don't even know are there. Bravo!
Thank you sir. I did another video installing this unit about a year ago. Pretty happy with it so far. 👍
Thanks for the video. Really appreciate you explaining everything.
That's a great unit 👍it looks extremely easier to install and gives great performance 👍
Yea great fit and finish definitely makes things easier. Can’t what it get the rest of the parts for the fuel system and try this bad boy out. 🤘
Learning from your channel. Honestly did not know something like this existed.

Dang it brother. Don’t jinx me! You know I’ve got enough bad luck as it is!🤣
Looks like a very nice piece for sure! And great info here THANK YOU!!

Don't think u will ever need to upgrade not with that set up. Owch on the $£€
I think you have covered everything about what it does
CC is a keeper 🍺👍
Yea CC will never be sold unless it’s twisted up into scrap. She’s a permanent part of the channel now.
Cha Ching that’s a little spicy 🌶
Great video as always brother!!
Thanks brother. I appreciate it!
This thing is badass.
But would the rubber hose be reliable submerged in the tank? I think it's be better with the flexible plastic hose.
It’s submersible hose. There’s a difference between regular fuel line and submersible fuel line. 😉 I 100% do NOT recommend using regular fuel hose inside your fuel tank.

How does the stock in tank fuel pump keep the surge tank fully supplied with up to 3 fuel pumps out of the surge tank?

the decal some real shit
the -10 would be because 3 pumps are merging into one point, so -10 would be an easier turn than a -8.

Believe me, nothing that came with this surge tank was cheap. I'm sure its submersible hose.
Does the eBay link for the surge tank come with the walbro pumps?
Some do, some don’t. I’d read the descriptions. The price is usually a giveaway as well. 😉
@@BadLuckGarage yup I just ended up buying off the radium website
@@fidgetyinfiniti Good deal brother. 👍
I couldn't remove the cover after removing all the 9 bolts, do i need pull it hard?
I honestly don’t know how to answer this without being sarcastic.
@@BadLuckGarage Believe me i was trying to pull it out with my hands but it was attached to the tank like it was welded
@@fahadabdulrhman4152 It’s probably just the seal sticking. 👍
Why wouldn't you put the eyelets on the pump wires and get rid of the connectors all together?
Buy one and you can do whatever you want.
Fancy Fucking Shit right there! Hell yeah
No kidding man, this is probably the first time in my life I’ve bought something this expensive and actually felt like I got MORE than I pod for!
@@BadLuckGarage looks very well designed..great choice
What if your car doesn't have a return style fuel system?
Unless it’s a carbureted setup, you’re still going to have a return, just not a return from the rails. So it will work exactly the same.
@@BadLuckGarage I have a 2018 audi ttrs, it is definitely returnless
All those pumps, goona need a better alternator.
lol
shoot radium so loud on social media un-till 2 weeks before black friday that is
Do the 525 pumps actually work in that setup?
Absolutely. It’s actually one of the pumps listed to use with this surge tank. 👍 I would have already been using the 525 pumps if I hadn’t gotten such a good deal on the set of 450 pumps I installed in the video.
