  • This channel is about my everyday life as a property owner and all the things I do that go along with owning property.
    I'm cutting a drive in with the Kubota L6060. I also wanted to tell why I got rid of the Kubota L3560.

    I like the little cabin. The L does nice work and I like the way you take your time & don't operate the tractor like your hairs on fire. I went with the M6060, 3.3 engine (same eng. as the 7060) verses the 2.4, it weights 1000#'s more & has more hyd. pump pressure. In watching your videos, I would be glad to buy a used tractor from you. Thanks for posting...

    Great video. I now know a little about Kubota. See lots of them through the countryside.

    I would be close to your age. It's nice to see you take your time and enjoy the day. I see so many people in a rush and they're probably just going home to sit on the couch.

    The manual for my L4060 says to not engage or disengage 4×4 or the Differencial lock unless fully stopped. That it can damage the gears.
    Maybe different for l6060, but might be worth a check to save you issues.
    Great video.

      I don’t know on all my tractors I’ve always done a slow roll disengage either forward or backwards.

    I have a grand L4060. Had it about a month. Still waiting on the land pride 7' finish mower. Now you have me wondering if I should have gotten a bigger tractor! LOL. Just kidding. I love the 4060. I do wish I had gotten the air ride seat. Still may upgrade that. I'm in eastern ky. I saw your KY plate. I like watching your videos. Have a good day!

    Interesting about the air seat. I was told the suspension is the same, the air gives it the ability to adjust the height for different users. It also loses the 15* swing for better viewing angles while backing. I decided not to order one with my tractor, but can add it later AND keep the seat. Have an L4060 on order for doing hay work.

      It does raise as you add air or go down as you deflate but the air ride seat has a gage on it for your weight . If you put it to soft for your weight it can bottom out or if to much air it doesn’t float. Yes the ability to angle the seat is very nice, i do miss that from time to time when using a rear implement because i had it on my L3560. Thanks for commenting

    are your tires loaded or is the land plane the only ballast you have? I have 160lbs per tire on mine and i find the rear really light. keep up the great work!

    Another great video, David. I’m looking to get a new truck and I’m wondering what the total weight is of your tractor and trailer combined, for tow capacity purposes.

    • @DavidFDay
      @DavidFDay  2 года назад

      I’m not sure what my trailer weighs but the tractor dry weighs around 4300 but I also have fluid in the back tires. I would not get a 1/2 ton truck if your going to pull it a lot or long distance is my opinion. I think you would be fine with a 3/4 ton. I’m just spoiled to the dually. I like having the dual tires if you have a blowout on the trailer or drop a trailer tire off the shoulder of the road you have enough truck to hold the trailer. I have a friend that pulls a Kubota B26 backhoe tractor with a new 1/2 ton and he does fine but he doesn’t pull it often. And if your doing this commercially your limiting yourself on how much extra stuff you can carry.

      @@DavidFDay, great advice and thanks for the quick reply. Just using the the tractor for residential projects around our farm only, so we’ll only be pulling it to/from nearby service appointments. As much as I love a dually, I’m pretty sure if I bought one, my wife would also make me live in it. Thanks again!

      😂 trucks aren’t cheap that’s for sure.
      if your pulling it locally and you have a good tandem trailer you will be fine with a 1/2, the 3/4 ton gives you more truck weight and stiffer suspension for stability. Have a blessed thanksgiving

      When your adding horse power weight is your friend. I never considered the M, i like the comfort of the Grand L series cab. Personally I wouldn’t like the shuttle shift.

    How does the L6060 trailer compared to the L3560? Did you have to get a different trailer and/or truck to be able to handle? I fully agree with the L805 loader. When I purchased my L3560, they had the L555 on it, told them no, I wanted the 805 and I was glad I got the bigger loader.

    • @DavidFDay
      @DavidFDay  3 года назад +1

      You don’t have any idea how disappointed you would have been if you had of kept the LA555 loader. It’s to weak for the 3560. They shouldn’t even have the LA555 loader. I still have the same 3500 truck i did buy a longer trailer, the Hanks trailer i have is 20ft long and has rails on it, more of a mower trail, it has two 5000lb axils so it was ok weight wise but the rails were in the way all the time and this tractor is longer. There is a landscaping guy here that had this trailer i have now for sale it has two 7000lb axels and is 23ft long so it fits tractor better. The L6060 pulls just as good on a trailer as the 3560, i cant tell the difference. Thanks for commenting.

      @@DavidFDay thanks for the info. Someday (most likely a few years down the road) I would like to upgrade the L3560, but for 90% of the projects, it works just great. A little more PTO HP or little bigger loader on occasion would be nice, but for now it will wait and meet the needs.

    • @DavidFDay
      @DavidFDay  3 года назад +1

      The 3560 is a great tractor, I wouldn’t have traded if it wasn’t for the TS10 bush hog. I could live with the loader, but the LA555 loader is way under powered for the 3560. The seat I could have upgraded on the 3560.
