I was 17 when I was at this show, & I wanted to marry Chino. Now I’m 44 & still wanna marry him. Shows at the abyss we’re always awesome but this one was magic.
Would give just about anything to go back in time and attend that show.. I was attending Klein Forest High School in North Houston as a freshman at the time and still listening to mainly alternative rock back then like Bush and Alanis Morissette and Alice In Chains, Silverchair & Stone Temple Pilots.. Deftones didn’t hit my eardrums until a couple of years later when I heard their sophomore record “Around the Fur” my sophomore year of high school at Tower Records after I had moved to Vegas.. then found this gem, “Adrenaline”, in the bargain bin.. the steal of a lifetime!
@@michaeldane75 This tour was their prime. A star that burnt out bright like a supernova. It was indescribable, best term that comes to mind is perfect chaos. A band called Lower or LOW opened for them and I think they were a local band that never went anywhere but they were lit.
They were the headliner. The opener was a band called Low, if I remember correctly. I had an 8:00 AM college exam the morning after this show. Worth being tired as hell in class.
@@christopherfreude6775 The band you're remembering was actually called Lower. They were a local band from Sugar Land/Mo City and I went to high school with the guitarist and drummer. I was at this show as well and the line-up I remember was Lower, Will Haven, Far & Deftones. Great memories!
I doubt it. Why would they do a bad brains cover on the same show? *edit: the lineup was Deftones, Far and Orange 9mm. He said it right before lifter. I think Chino still had dreads when they opened for BB
daebat No, I care less about something I don't like that a musician I enjoy likes. The reason why I even brought up he was a fan of nas(or maybe just likes that one song) was because he sang the chorus to Nas "life's a bitch" during this concert. I stated it because it was interesting and surprising to me that at that time he would be rapping to Nas song in one of his concerts. Now he if just stated it in a article today it wouldn't be as cool or surprising as it was in this video. Now do I really care a lot about what chino like or dislikes? No, but If he likes a band or something enjoy,Most likely I would find it cool compared to band I a band I don't like or know about.

15 year-old me was blown away by this tour back then. 20 years later I can still see why. What an album!
I was 15 too at this show. My cousin knew Stephen. We hung out with them back in 95. And at this show. Good times.
This record was pure electric energy back then and it still kills.
Was at this show. Energy was top notch. With Deftones always is….
Awesome! I was at this show! I was 15. Saw them every time they played at the Abyss.

Negative they headlined this show…. orange 9mm opened up.
chino is a nas fan
