If this can be easily cleaned (by me) that makes the purchase a no brainer, but if not I may need to keep shopping. Smile!
Hi Sunshine, Here is what I found out about the tarnishing: you can clean it with a gold polishing cloth if they are bright shiny vintage chains. If they are brushed gold style, then I am not sure. They cost around $5. It should do the trick. If you really want it to look new you would have to take it to the Chanel store and they can reguild your strap or you can just replace the hardware. I would go the cleaning cloth way. Is it really bad browning? Does it look like something you can fix on your own? You can always call the Chanel store and see what the cost is to have them reguild the strap.

I would maybe ask the Chanel store what they charge just for that service. I know that they do it. Where are you located? I know if you are in Europe there are a few high end places that do it and if you are in the USA I know of a few as well. I kind of liked it, it is kind of the charm of having vintage. That way u don’t use chemical to clean on your hardware!!!! When I change to silver none-thing u can do!
Tim Lian I didn't use chemicals but it's turning silver! I think it means it's fake
