Possibly the best show I’ve ever been to. I got into Emperor and metal in general in high school around 2000/2001 and these emperor albums were some of the big ones that were intimidating to me but eventually opened up and I learned to appreciate. Seeing these songs performed live almost 20 years later was really emotional. I was head banging and enjoying it all but my eyes filled with tears as certain songs were played. Such intensely beautiful and powerful music. I’m so happy I was at this show. I’d kill to see them again!
I'm seeing them in Glasgow in March . The only time I've seen them before was in 1999 and I injured myself stagediving 😆 sprained my shoulder and bruised ribs. Won't be doing that shit again
I know exactly what you mean, man. Saw them for the actual first time at the Beyond the Gates festival in 2022. I say actual first time because I went to a gig in of theirs the mid 90's in the same city (Bergen) but was way too young to appreciate it at the time. Was handed a CD of IX Equilibrium by a friend in '99 ("listen to this, dude") and that was it. Got an Emperor "E" shield logo tattoo last year at the following Beyond the Gates festival to commemorate it.
dont kill
Thank you
Cheers and skål 🍻from Drammen, Norge .. Saw them on the anthems tour 94' and they slay it still !!!! 🪦
I was here. Best show ever
these guys were born to play live
It's really cool that they added "The Burning Shadows of Silence" to this setlist.
At the famous 2006 Wacken show, which they released in 2009 as a live album & DVD, they opened with a medley called "Infinity Burning." That was a combination of "The Burning Shadows of Silence" + "Into The Infinity of Thoughts."
It's cool that both parts were played in their entirety at this Anaheim show!
Although, very unfortunate that it came at the expense of "Towards the Pantheon," which had been played at every other stop in this tour!
Am I the only one that finds towards the pantheon mid?
@RadicalizedRadical I'd say it's a quintessential work of theirs. It perfectly encapsulates one of the great moods in their repertoire.
Especially the album version, this song gives the feeling of being stranded on a mountainside in the snow. Coming up from below, a fierce blast of Winter's fury. Coming from ahead, a vengeful ghost screaming icy curses into your face. And for some reason, there's a portable air conditioner next to you, also blowing cold air on you to make it just a little bit worse.
The short scream at the beginning of the Wacken 2006 version is disappointing, but since 2022-2023, they've been putting this song into the rotation again a lot more, and Ihsahn has actually been doing the full 25 second scream without a breath -- Monstrously impressive!
Look up John Eriksen's youtube channel, his 10-minute video is the Dallas Edition of Pantheon.
And check out "The Millenial Express" channel, his 11-minute video "T.T.P. + M.O.N." is the Los Angeles edition of Pantheon.
There's also some good "Full Show" videos of their New York concert with Pantheon.
Yup I was there fucking ruled
First time I've ever seen a RUclips comment from the illustrious Randy Jimenez 😄

Yeah, this lineup is legit. Bass player has been touring with them since they first reunited in 2005-2007. And the keyboard guy has been with them since 2017, when they started playing a little bit more frequently. Before 2017, it was just a couple of festivals every few years, and not really touring.
So this is basically the perfect modern lineup. They've all been playing this material together for a long time, and are really sharp.
I saw them in Dallas on this tour, and it sounded fantastic.
who else stupid
@@AkumaAPN Bass player just happens to be musical genius Secthdamon from amazing bands like Myrkskog, Odium and Zyklon. He played drums on both Myrkskog albums and guitars for Odium. The guy is a legend
It’s funny. They let Emperor, a Norwegian black metal band play at the House of Blues, but they don’t let bands like Cattle Decapitation, Ice Nine Kills, Snot, Exodus, Machine Head, Thy Art Is Murder, The Dillinger Escape Plan, and Cannibal Corpse perform at the House of Blues. Though, of course, Cannibal Corpse’s songs are pretty self explanatory, but their vocalist George “Corpsegrinder” Fisher goes to Disney World all the time and donates claw machine plushies to charity. Also, they literally banned southern Metalcore legends Every Time I Die for literally no reason at all. But get this, some of Disney’s movies and shows literally involve, oh my god, DEATH.
Haha really? That’s insane, I mean Emperor are probably the most controversial of that list, make Cannibal Corpse seem like child’s play…church burnings, murders etc
@@heresjohnny999 EXACTLY!!!
Had tickets but had to miss it last second 🥲🙃🥲🥲
me too...bt in Dallas
