"'Dark Days' is a loose homage to growing up in Southern California: first loves, sneaking out, finding your our own way -all while trying to outrun religious guilt. The song has become integral to our band and our live shows. We last played it live on Kimmel a little over 2 months ago, which now feels like a distant memory from a bizarre alternate reality. Despite the looming anxiety of those final pre-quarantine days, that performance felt especially cathartic for us and was made all the more poignant by having Amelia on stage with us. She not only lent us her incredible voice but she wrote a beautiful new verse that taps into the nostalgia and the longing we all feel for a different time." - Local Natives

Same feeling man. I'm the accountant at my work but last week I was the only one in the office because the administrator was on vacation, so I had to pick a station to play on the lobby speakers. So I chose a Fleet Foxes & Grizzly Bear playlist, and then I heard this song come on. I immediately had to run back out of my office to her computer to figure out who the hell this was. And so glad I did, it's such a short song... to think I may have lived the rest of my life not even knowing that Local Natives existed is such a tragic concept.
I've been listening to them every day since. Pretty much everything I've heard I've loved. But Dark Days and Wide Eyes are complete masterpieces.
Also, wanted to note that their style and the exceptional harmonies does make them a match made in heaven playing alongside Fleet Foxes or Grizzly Bear, just throwing that out there in case you haven't given them a listen before. God I love these Indie bands.

This song has been out for years, and now finally the video for it is out. Pretty much the music video is spot on of what would i pictured it to be with the sun, palm trees, surfers, and the beaches off of California’s coast. Can’t get any better than that with a simple chill music video. 😌👌🏽
