This is Joshua - I’m six years old and I didn’t know what a dorm was like, so my dad showed me this video. He went to Ithaca College, too. Thank you for making this video! I liked it a lot!
Thanks for the detailed look. My son is moving into one of those “seemingly smaller” rooms on the 9th floor. This was super helpful for figuring out what can fit where. Nice job
I lived in the East Tower for my freshman and sophomore years and in the West Tower my junior year. That was back in 1969-1972!!!! The room was pretty much the same except the bathrooms today are a huge improvement. We had a communal bathroom for each floor. Thanks for sharing this; it brings back fun memories! I loved living in the towers, and I'm still best friends with my roommate, even though we live on opposite sides of the country!
Go Bills! We’re from Orchard Park 😄 My daughter is starting as a freshman this year, and will be in Tallcott Hall, the same dorm I was in my first 2 years at IC. I’m just remembering what all the dorms are like from RUclips videos, so thank you! Hope you’re loving it there!
Great video and very helpful - thank you! Do boys and girls live in the same tower or the same floors? How long did you need to wait for an elevator in AM? What was provided in the dorm except for the recycle and garbage bins, maybe soap, toilet paper, or laundry detergents? Sorry for a lot of questions.
Hi, yes all floors are all genders which is the reason for the single private bathrooms, which are super nice!! Honestly I never really had crazy long waits for the elevator at any time but if it is taking longer the stairs were always an option. As for what was provided, we were given recycling bins (we had to bring our own garbage bins), the basic wooden furniture and as for the bathrooms since they're technically communal, it had paper towels, soap and toilet paper.
Hi, I love it here!! I'm not part of any clubs or organizations but I know we have over 200 so there's plenty you could find and join that may have to do with any of your interests!
Hi, no I don't think there's anything specific the college makes you buy! When accepted they give you a list of things you can't bring so I would just follow that.
Is it guaranteed that you'll be roomed with someone majoring in the same thing as you? Ex music major with a music major. Or can you say u prefer that on your questionnaire thing?
Hi! It's almost completely random and they use the questionnaire form to figure out who you would room best with. I didn't go random though, I found my roommate through our Facebook group so if you don't want to go random I suggest finding someone through social media. But, again with the questionnaire, unless it was changed I don't remember any questions about rooming with someone as the same major as you. I hope this helped!
Unless it's a corner room or on the side of the building where there's only three rooms (like mine) it will just be a regular sized dorm... and I'm not sure where 04 would be

Love this video, would love to see the bathroom.
Wow ha, I graduated in '08 and the tower dorms still look the same as when I moved in. Good times.
How large is the rug? Also, do you know which numbers face the lake? - IC '25 :)
Good video. We'll be at Open House on 4/27. Coming from Buffalo 🐃
did you bring a mini fridge? do you think you need one?

Omg girl thank you cause I wanted to see the tower and they said no when I first visited and when I was accepted I came here
Is there enough room to put the micro fridge/microwave unit they rent?
My question too. I didn’t see one.
Towers bathrooms are nice compared to quads. The quad bathrooms felt like they belonged to a war bunker haha.
Super helpful vid! I’m applying for colleges this year and Ithaca is my #1! Do you like it there? Are you part of any clubs or organizations??
Hi, I love it here!! I'm not part of any clubs or organizations but I know we have over 200 so there's plenty you could find and join that may have to do with any of your interests!
My son will be attending in August, does the tenth floor dorm room #s begin with 10-- or is that the first floor?
Yes, the first numbers correspond with the floor number. So since he is on the tenth floor it will start with 10 and two more numbers with follow.
i'm considering applying to ithaca. do you have to buy specific stuff to comply with the sustainability of the campus?
Hi, no I don't think there's anything specific the college makes you buy! When accepted they give you a list of things you can't bring so I would just follow that.
Is it more expensive to stay in the towers than the quads?
As far as I know all freshman dorms are the same price unless you have a single!

Which floor did you live on? I’m going to be on the second floor
I lived on the 11th floor! Also one thing I do know that's different about the 2nd floor is that you will have hardwood floors and not carpet.
I graduated from IC in 2005 🙌
Thx homie
More video please 👍👍
peep the harry styles shirt lol
Such a helpful video!! Are the rooms ending with 04 bigger usually?
Unless it's a corner room or on the side of the building where there's only three rooms (like mine) it will just be a regular sized dorm... and I'm not sure where 04 would be
@@taylorwood9055 also, like how many rooms does each floor have? Lmao I'm an International student and haven't seen the campus yet I'm so confused
@@antarasen3185 I'm not 100% sure how many rooms are on each floor but I think it might have been 13
Good job sis. Disliked
