You make a fair point, however your catchphrase risks playing into the hands of the procrastinators who will tell you that tomorrow never comes. It's significantly longer, but how about:

and get back to the business in hand.

until all of their use has been banned!

I thought it was obvious ....they feel and suffer just like us in any identical situation that causes us pain, whether grief or physical injury of any kind. Yet the very thing done to us that causes outrage, is accepted as normal when done to them. That's irrational, it's selfish, its obvious hypocrisy of the worst kind. Thank you for your action for our ever suffering animals.

Where do you start when your team doesn't have the same funding as the other team? Where do you start when you have kind and intelligent people staring injustice in the face and they still can't see it and do better? Thanks for your uplifting words, David. You're addressing a small army of AR activists, and without their acts of disruption and raising awareness, change would wait much much longer. Keep on fighting, keep the pressure on!
Good questions.
Most people have their heads filled with misinformation telling them that they need animal products to be healthy and they let their morals be guided by their actions and taste preferences, not the other way around.
The difference in funding is hard to change. There are vegan brands that try to fight back by sponsoring activism through charities. (just like the animal industry sponsors their lobby groups)

Look no further than all of the instances throughout history where groups of people were dehumanized to justify their wrongful treatment or worse.
You cannot dehumanize a person as a justification for abuse if the beings under our dominion are already held to a high moral standard.
Truthfully we were the lucky animals that just happened to evolve an extreme level of intelligence.
With this great fortune, we should protect all of the fellow animals on this planet. Humans and animals are the same.

Yeah because no rational argument can convince a vegan because you have an emotional problem with the way animals are treated. The only way I would be able to change your mind would be if I somehow changed the feelings you have when you see a mammal being mistreated and I can't do that.

It's impossible. There's not enough land to feed all carnists this way. Plants + lab-grown meat/dairy/eggs is how things are gonna get better. And a few generations from now no one will touch lab-grown meat with a barge pole-they’ll be disgusted.

@@jonahwhale9047 the group. Constant flow of drama and I'm someone who barely talked and was just there for the animals, but I still ended up hearing all the drama.
The response from the public was on a whole very positive, with the exception of the on angry old guy or kids mucking around.
@@MammothMorals It's a problem. If only folks would produce unbranded materials & allow self-organizing individuals to use them. I don't know anything about it, & do not align myself with any group. It seems that by definition they are all fraught with such problems.
A big part of that is just human & unavoidable sociology though. It will arise in any group, therefore - unless it involves absolute abuse - I'm sort of non-judgemental of it. Although it does appears to become worse when "branding" & ownership of identities & ideas become involved.
I suppose the thing to do is find your people that you can work with harmoniously.
I recently just got diagnosed with a gluten intolerance. Does anyone have any suggestions for cookbooks for gluten free vegan food?
ProtossHyrdalisk, search gluten free vegan recipes, the Internet is loaded with wonderful healthy gluten free recipes.
Coeliac, or just some dietician guessing? I didn't think they'd developed reliable methods to test for non-celiac gluten sensitivity (aka gluten intolerance).
The Gluten-Free Vegan by Susan O'Brien has quite a few good recipes. I don't have any intolerance to gluten, but I have her gluten-free vegan comfort food book, and it is awesome
I've got to say, I don't actually buy most claims of intolerance & that basically every commercially produced gluten-free product is disgusting & inedible. I hate when takeaways/restaurants confusing vegan with gluten-free & serve it up as the vegan option.
For sure, wheat flour products especially cause congestion/allergy problems if you eat too much of them. I agree with, & experience that. I don't know if I'd call it an "intolerance" though, it's just what it does.
Especially the more processed & inert they are.
Buckwheat is gluten-free though, so are some oats. Obviously fruit, veg, nuts, seeds are. 100% soba (buckwheat) noodles are possible, but pretty marginal at best.
So what does it really mean, cutting out cakes & bread?
Basically all whole food, plant based recipes can be adapted just by leaving the offending grains out. The bigger problem is really the psychological effect, e.g. cutting out comfort foods, like cake, or trying to make GF copies of them.
I'm always interested to know if the "allergy/intolerance" is to gluten, or just flour, so it might be worth experiment if, e.g. you can eat natural-made seitan or freshly cooked whole grains, rather than processed grains.
Where are you going to get your carbs from, sweet & other potatoes?
Great speech. However. I think the distinction between sympathy and empathy is not correct. (People get this wrong all the time.) Empathy is feeling what someone else is feeling; sympathy is feeling sorry for what someone else is feeling. Crying about animals would be more like empathy (though I would argue we can never actually empathize with what they go through); feeling pity for them would be sympathy. Both are valid reactions but neither leads to action. Empathy can lead to despair and giving up. Only decision leads to action.
