I'm buying this product for crossing Canada when we go full time in 2019. I TRUST these two people after years of great advice on all kinds subject matter. Bob and Carilyn have a very standard of ethics in the growing RV community which makes us closer and stonger as humans. It's people like this on You Tube that helped me convince my wife that this RV lifestyle is richer than the fine home and gardens we have had for 26 years in souless suburbia. Hey, Bob! I just noticed that you're almost at 100 k subscribers! WOW! I can't tell you how much I appreciate you! Thank you for providing so much valuable information on so much! You give us the confidence to do it all! Take care, friend 😀
Mr. bob thats why you've got 100K subscribers, you honesty and well put together videos, informative and usable knowledge. Thank you for your time and effort that you put into your RUclips videos and your website...
Can you believe it ? Bob is reading directions ! ;) BOB, TY So Much! your videos have been extremely enlightening! There have been many folks trying to do what you have done, but you are the original and the best.
Bob, don't be shy about accepting and using and giving honest reviews of products companies send to you. That will start happening more often now than you have nearly 100k subscribers. You should see the huge piles of enormous boxes of entire collections of beauty products that the makeup vloggers routinely get as press samples, worth thousands of dollars. You can be entirely honest in your reviews as everyone knows you will be, and keep the stuff. You're earning it!
I bought a WeBoost just about a year ago and went all through Alaska and Canada to here in TN. I found it worked really good some places but in Seward AK where I spent the summer it didn’t help at all. I agree totally with Carolyn and thanks Bob for this. I thought it was me. I look forward to more testing.
Thanks for review. I took a 2 month trip from NY to Texas to Florida and back at the beginning of the year. I tested the Weboost 4G-X-RV with Verizon, ATT, and T-mobile at all the places I boondocked/camped. I tested both an omni and yagi external antenna. The results were interesting. I learned a couple of things: 1st, DB isn't a very useful metric. I used the Speedtest app to check upload/download speeds. You can have great DB, but a crowded/lousy cell tower. After all, how fast you can download or upload a video is what makes the booster useful. 2nd, there was no best network. All three major networks were better at some places. A good portion of the time, the unboosted signal had a better download speed than boosted. Upload speeds were always better with the booster. 3rd, The yagi takes time to set up (and can't be used while driving). In really remote areas with no signal, the opensignal app didn't always give a direction. So you had to hunt for the tower. At one place on the Texas coast, I could only get a connection with the yagi antenna. Most of the time, the extra effort to put up the yagi wasn't worth the effort. The omni antenna provided similiar upload/download speeds. I have a small 14.5' trailer and I had to use the small candy bar antenna instead of the one provided with the RV kit. Since I couldn't get the required separation (getting green leds during boot-up). Weboost was definitely worth having. But having multiple carriers is also important!
i thought this was carolyn's new rig, as i am used to seeing it. i nearly had a heart attack, seeing al the duck tape and crappy window! so glad she got a new one. very informative. thank you both!!
We have the same model Weboost and really like it. We moved the outdoor antenna over to the inside leg of the ladder after it got swatted by tree limbs a couple of times requiring re- installation of the antenna cover.
There's a lot of mean spirited people on here! If you don't like the video, turn it off. If you don't like Carolyns video, turn it off too. It's really that simple.
I was thinking the same thing. I turn stuff off when it bothers me....remove myself. I'm subbed to both of them, along with many others. I watch what I find interesting, weigh it against what I've seen elsewhere and move on... I'm learning and thinking about doing this when I retire.... but some of the comments I see are distressing. People are just plain uncivil.
Bob I found it so funny that you referenced Casey Naisat!!! I never pictured you following him, lol. Another great little insight into the mind of Mr. Wells!!! I like you more everyday sir
Very helpful, thank you. I have been looking at the Verizon unlimited data plan with a Jetpack for my service on the road and was looking next at a WeBoost booster - probably the "little brother", as you called it. :) Very grateful for your time and effort, both of you, in doing this.
The five bars showing on the phone represent the rebroadcast signal from the booster. Since the booster is in the RV with you, it makes sense that it’s a very strong signal. Unfortunately as you note, that does not mean that you get the same speed you would get with five bars generated from a cell tower. If you had one bar to begin with, the signal being rebroadcast to you is not great quality, but glad to hear it does help.
Wow, I was just looking at these things. That's really amazing that you did a review on one. It sounds like download speeds were fast but upload speeds were better. Have a great day.
Hi...Thanks for the video. Please run a speed test with the booster turned on and with it turned off. Why guess? The increased speed from the booster is what we're really interested in. Thanks
This where the problems come. I have this booster and I will give it credit that it will increase the signal. HOWEVER run a before and after speedtest and data speed are CAN BE worst with the booster on. Weboost has a wonderful marketing department.
Hi Carolyn and Bob. the cable has been compromised once you bend those cables around that ladder making those sharp turns the cable has been compromised so if you're going to put a permanent one in don't make any sharp turns with it and if you don't and you want to get a new cable wrap it in a large Circle and hang it somewhere but you can't make sharp turns with it or it will compromise it and then your signal will start going out on you
Looks like a great product but one thing I noticed was the sticker on the antenna reads that the frequency range is between 698 to 2700 megahertz. T-mobile especially and I beleve some AT&T are rolling out new service in the low band 600 megahertz Spectrum. Before spending this kind of money I want to make sure this product will operate on the new spectrum and if not is there a new model that will?
Ausia just bought and unboxed a weBoost. Paid 199 at best buy. Hers must be the newer model. She has a small magnet mount antenna and the other components are much smaller.
You may have great signal to talk to the tower, but everyone using the tower must share the bandwidth. The more users the slower the throughput is. If the tower has 5mhz bandwidth not many users can use the signal at the same time. If the tower has a 10mhz bandwidth carrier the you will get better throughput with the same amount of users but as soon as more users get on, the slower the throughput gets again, all the while you have 4 to 5 bars.
It does work i used to have shit sprint back in the day when basically was 3g not good anything... Would get maybe 1 or 2 bars after it was double to full bars 👌
They are not spacers Carolyn. They're called Dyna bolts for inserting to pre-drilled holes in concrete. Thats why they were spreading as you tightened the nuts.
Oh me, antenna is strong point on roof! Heheheheee....I need one of these boosters. America is big. Hard to get good cell signals all over, but we sure need better cell phone internet service! At home I'm on KomKast, Southern Sektor, but if I could get real true unlimited data with our TMobile service, I'd drop KomKast, Southern Sektor, in a NYC second. That's fast.
This product looks like it's for use while driving and parked because it sends/receives in all directions. I suspect the directional(triangle shaped) antenna would work better than this one while parked. At least it gets your cell signal outside the RV where it has better propagation than from inside.
Mr. Bob, Tell Carolyn ....do not tie the feed line "coax RG6" on that latter as seen to the left of Carolyn. ....please do not store it that way ether. It's not extension cord or landline cord. ....take care not to mash, kink, pinch or tight bends. That can cause distortion to the dielectric insalator. That's the stuff between the center conductor and the metallic shield underneath the outer plastic jacket. ...specially if it's retransmitting or broadcasting back to cellular tower. Can cause some problems in preformance. Just saying. Just loop it in a 10" to 14" and loosely zip tie it or tape to latter. Thanks for what you do! Jeff
Whenever ANY company gives you something to try out, just tell them up front that you'll be giving an honest opinion, good or bad. As long as you're up front with them and they still agree to provide the item, there's no need for you to provide a disclaimer to your viewing audience other than to say the item was provided, but the opinions within are yours alone. If you have concerns, throw into your intro that this is an honest review and add a single-line text disclaimer to your video description. This kind of thing happens across MANY, MANY channels, and I've never seen one where someone who told the company that your review would be honest, good or bad, resulted in "backlash" from viewers at all.
My dear Carolyn... none of my business... but please, PLEASE reinstall that ladder securely before you end up finding yourself laying on the ground with a broken back or worse. Godspeed. P.S. Bob give her the motivation to secure that ladder. KC5AGO out.
I see that kit has an "omni directional" antennae. I bet an even larger antennae that can be pointed at, and dialed in, for best signal may be even better, but, not as convenient. Probably more $$ also. .
Signal strength and speed aren't necessarily related. Traffic on a tower can slow speed since it can only handle so much at a time. So you can have a full five bars and still have trouble with speed. My speed usually drops in urban areas and speeds up in the boonies.
Debra Altizer Now if he did the review himself you would still have something to say . You know you would accuse him of not being honest because he got it for free he explained why he did it
It's a fairer test in an RV then a van, you need at least 15 feet distance between the outdoor and indoor antennas with this model to achieve good results, that might be difficult to do with a van install.
Awesome but I would like to hear more about your setup Bob. I like the sound of a magnet do it's not a permanent fixture. If you did a review in yours will you please repost or send me the link on here? Thank you!!!!!

HOBOTECH, thanks for replying. Compressor fridges are those ones that look like coolers and open on the top, right? I read someone's comment somewhere that the ones that are 3 or 2 way don't get as cold when they run on electricity. Maybe they were comparing them to when they run them on gas or battery meaning when on electricity, they aren't as cold. Anyway, thanks and I look forward to learning more about RV life on the road. Mo from NJ and...
Oh by the way, I had it installed at Camping World and they didn’t seal it correctly and water was coming in through the holes. Damn Camping World!!!!! They are the worst!

My two favorite credible youtubers in one video! Thanks for this useful and informative review... I will put this device on my wish list :)
Thanks for the info Bob & Carolyn. I better understand now what a cell phone booster is!

I would definitely be putting the ext. Ant. on a telescope 25ft pole to get it to clear all obstructions.
Excellent review!
Woohoo!!!, 99,914 Subs!!!! You Rock Bob!!! 😀😀😀
Hope to see a follow-up. See if the cable end held up to the elements.
This is a great test.
Thank you Bob🤓
Almost 100,000 Bob. See you next year after we sell our condo.

Just saying.
Just loop it in a 10" to 14" and loosely zip tie it or tape to latter.
Thanks for what you do!
Jeff
Question. Lots of time only 3G is available to us. Will this boost 3G?
got it, love it!
vantastic voyage, do u have a video on it? Is it mounted on ur roof? Mo
I have it installed on my 18 wheeler. It has a slightly different antenna than the rv version but it will work on an rv. no i don't have a video yet

Good video. Thanks for sharing.
Bars show signal strenth which is the included emitter. It has nothing to do with the quality of the signal as the nice lady explained.
Probably more $$ also.

how much power does this use and is there an easy on/off switch
Signal strength and speed aren't necessarily related. Traffic on a tower can slow speed since it can only handle so much at a time. So you can have a full five bars and still have trouble with speed. My speed usually drops in urban areas and speeds up in the boonies.
Great vid. Casey Neistat definitely is a trip when unboxing :-)
Great one, I like your information about the products. ...
It would be interesting to compare the supplied omnidirectional antenna with a directional antenna.
The difference is considerable, like 10 db at least
I would be interested to hear how this works in different regions of the country.
They gave it to you to review, not Carolyn!
Debra Altizer felt like a Re gifting. There is a time and place for that.
Debra Altizer Now if he did the review himself you would still have something to say . You know you would accuse him of not being honest because he got it for free he explained why he did it

Joyce r u on the road do you live in a RV and how do you like it just looking for some in put
Thanks Thanks
Thumbs up.
Hope the ladder stays on long enough to evaluate. Good luck.
Thanks I did not know about the video and I was hoping to ask Bob a few things about buying one is that ok with you have a good day
Angela Munroe, not sure who ur asking... It's ok with me. Mo
Would it really improve your upload capabilities? Probably great streaming movies, downloading images, etc., but it seems you would need something to increase upload speeds for posting HD video. Than again...I could be talking out of my pop-up. lol
Thanks for the review guys. I think the price would keep me out of this one....but maybe by the time I get out there and need it the cost will come down!
nice
I think that Ausia Berger.....aka Pandamonium used this on her cell phone.
Wow
Any updates on this booster?
I need one of these designed for use in a rural house.
Shell Cshells the RV one should work if there's a signal.
HOBOTECH Brilliant, thank you!
HOBOTECH, hi and thanks for the info. HT, is it mounted in the best place Carolyn has? If not, where it should be installed? Do u think the metal is affecting the signal? Take care, be safe, Mo from NJ and...
if i have a directional antenna on my camper could i just plug this booster into it?
Very Interesting a Great video ... Thanks. (Re Boost)
Good reviews
Hey. I'm. Scott. A. We get your Volga's. one day after you post them.
LOOKED LIKE THE LATEST EPISODE OF MA AND PA KETTLE..........
Thanks for the info and being upfront about the free unit. I got one to test. I installed it (ruclips.net/video/iew18uWvdfw/видео.html).
I definitely get an increase in signal Dbm and upload speed. In my tests so far, the download speed is worse than without the booster. I'm ouit boondocking from NY to Texas now. I'm collecting more data points.
Please make it a magnetic mount
You just take a weak signal and amplifie it, not enhance it.
Great product. To bad it wouldn’t work for computers or iPads.
You need an antenna port, plug in.
HOBOTECH, wow, what did u say? I have no clue about this but when I am ready to hit the road in a year, I'm gonna pick ur brain again, lol. I have learned some things tho. For example, I know...

umm so you could not do a simple bandwidth test with and without...... really?.....
Its rare to see the species Bobis Wellis in its natural surroundings.
