Excellent job Jim. A sincere congratulations. Thank you very much for sharing. All the best.
Also on the Mexican Pacific coast, colleagues face severe salt corrosion (distilled water, ultrasonic cleaning and IPA with 99% purity, in that order). Fortunately today I don't have that problem (small town surrounded by mountains, 20,000 inhabitants, 100 km from the seashore).
PS: (32:40) Do we also have another similar camera damaged by salt water? hey! lol ... I definitely affirm that you belong to our select group, that is, those who are told: I don't know how you're going to do it but fix it! A hug from Mexico.

What do you use to connect back the cable that is behind the camera? (The black one that doesn't have a connector, but it's directly glued and needs to be detached when disassembling the camera?)

Hi, you can add a piece of isolation tape to cover the copper plate or you can just leave out as long as it does not touch other metals. Gr. Jim

I recently dropped my Hero 10 in fresh water. Dried it and sprayed contact cleaner inside. It switches on and front screen is ok but rear large screen does not come on. Do you think I can replace it? It’s been over a week now and the situation is the same.

Hi i think the circuit that drives the large LCD screen could be faulty check near the connector if you see corrosion if not then the LCD is most likely to be the problem. Gr. Jim
