The rapture or the catching away is a totally separate event from the Second Coming of Jesus. The catching away occurs and initiates the beginning of the 7 year tribulation. The bride of Christ (that's us) will be taken to the Father's house where the wedding feast of the Lamb will take place.
Where is the logic of that? if there is a secret "snatching" away of the saints before the Tribulation why does God have to shorten the time of the Tribulation on account of the elect in Matthew 24:22,31 if they are not here. 2. Who are the saints that Jesus will be coming for when they are already with Him in Heaven? 3. Who are the "saints" who will be on the earth during the 1000 year period who will evangelize the wicked if Revelation 20:4,5 clearly states that the dead lived not again until the 1000 years is over; and the text clearly states that the righteous reign with Jesus during the same period. Jeremiah links the destruction of Jerusalem with the destruction of the world at the second coming of Jesus (just as Jesus did in Matt 24) Jeremiah 4:23-28 He states there, the earth is empty and there is no man, but God does not destroy the earth into nothingness. It now must experience its sabbatical rest of 1000 years. Note that in Revelation 20, Satan and his angels are chained by circumstances on the earth during that time. He has no one to tempt and has 1000 years to contemplate the results of his rebellion. Note that as soon as the 1000 years is ended, the wicked dead is resurrected to face their punishment. As soon as they are alive, Satan is released from his "chains". Oh yes, he can again begin his work of temptation. They see the Holy City begin its descent out of heaven. It hovers above the earth. What does he persuade the wicked to do? To compass the city and take it by force because his army is as the "sands of the sea". He persuade them that they are more in number than those within the city. He has not learned anything during the past 1000 years, he is set in his rebellion. So are those resurrected wicked. No hope of redemption for them. They made their choice during their lifetime on earth prior to Christ's return and rejected Him. They have not learnt that one with God is a majority. Satan's plan is to take the city and head straight for the Tree of Life so that they could partake of it and live forever. But what do we see next, The great White Throne Judgment of the wicked begins as God's throne appears above the city. Instead of invading the city, all are stunned and mersmerized as they are judged, great and small, for all that they have done. Finally every tongue confess that God is righteous in all his judgments, including Satan and his angels. They bow the knee and confess that God is Sovereign Lord. And fire now consumes them as they are thrown into the Lake of Fire that engulf the earth. That fire removes every trace of evil from the earth including the wicked. Revelation 21:1-3 John describes the final descent of the City of God. The fires had cleansed the earth, and now God restores the earth to its original Edenic beauty. The Truth is really not complicated. It is beautiful in its construct. The belief about the saints being snatched away came not from the bible but from the imaginations of men. Blessings to you.

I cried like a baby at this video. Cami was also about to cry. The unbelievable love Jesus has for us, to give up his life so horribly & then turn around and build us a Paradise to live in forever away from all pain and evil...I’m so humbled, grateful and anxious to see Paradise. Didn't Jesus tell Christians to pray for God's Kingdom to come and for His will to be done on earth as it is in heaven? God's Kingdom is a heavenly government ruled by Jesus Christ as King. Soon Jesus will bring beautiful changes to the earth. There will be no more death, pain or sorrow on earth, Revelation 21:4,5! No more wickedness on earth, Psalms 37:9-11! Until the final resurrection there is a temporary heaven-paradise (Luke 23:43; 2 Corinthians 12:4) and a temporary hell-Hades (Revelation 1:18; 20:13-14). As can be clearly seen in Luke 16:19-31, neither in paradise nor in Hades are people sleeping. It could be said, though, that a person’s body is “sleeping” while his soul is in paradise or Hades. At the resurrection, this body is “awakened” and transformed into the everlasting body a person will possess for eternity, whether in heaven or hell. Those who were in paradise will be sent to the new heavens and new earth (Revelation 21:1). Those who were in Hades will be thrown into the lake of fire (Revelation 20:11-15). These are the final, eternal destinations of all people-based entirely on whether or not a person trusted in Jesus Christ for salvation.

Yes, the rapture is when we meet Jesus in the air. The 2nd coming is when he actually comes with all the saints Zechariah 14:3-5.
