Well, that looked pretty easy. But I just spent at least 8 hours installing zigbee2mqtt and trying to make it work, without success, so there are definitely some complicated issues that can arise. My setup was even close to yours, running on a Raspberry Pi 4 and using an SLZB-06 zigbee coordinator on ethernet. I finally gave up and switched to using the ZHA integration, and got it running in about 5 minutes.
First - I love your videos, looking forward for more to come! Question: Do you have any tips how I can find my zigbee-coordinators IP? I have been searching in my router but can't find it. My setup is: HS on a NUC in a VM on Proxmox, Unifi USG router. A lot of thanks in advance!
I figured i would post to this vid since it is newer on the zigbee2mqtt plus i am using a smlight also.... So i followed your other video of getting things setup to add in mqtt and zigbee2mtt, i have zha setup with a smlight-slzb-06 and wanted to put in the smlight-slzb-06p7 as a zigbee2mqtt i have lots of devices.... :-) everything looks correct, except when i pair a device ie. an agara button and tried a third reality button both are supported and i have seen others add them in no problem, but mine are coming in with no actions, i looked in the log and it is seeing the clicks, just don't understand why then are not coming in knowing about the actions. i tried all the standard things, removing, updating, and even removing mqtt and zigbee2mqtt. no luck.. Any thoughts? thanks in advance. And thanks for the great vids, i ordered the parts you suggested and left you a comment on the mmwave vid you did.
Are you using a community blueprint? I see this one for an Aqara button: community.home-assistant.io/t/aqara-mini-switch-zigbee-setup/532766/5?u=loopdelicious
Love your videos, Joyce! Concise with a sprinkle of detailed explanation!!! Looking forward to more videos on HA :)
Great overview with clear communication! Keep it up!
Good tutorial, very clearly explained.👍
Installed my smlight slzb-06 a few days ago but my Home Assistant is running as a VM on my Unraid server.
I'm also using Zigbee2MQTT.
Great work Joyce

Looks like you might be able to go to `slzb-06.local/` or `slzb-06m.local/` in your browser to see the IP.
Hi Joyce, thank you this seems like a very easy way to install Z2MQTT are there any down sides of not setting up a mosquitto broker password

Thank you. Do I need a coordinator per one group of devices or one coordinate is adequate for one floor?
One zigbee coordinator for all the zigbee devices in your local area network (like your house)
anyone having issues where your entire raspberry pi keeps crashing?
