Paul. Did you have to replace any led beads or just a crack repair job? What size solder wire and type flux? This will be my first tv repair. Thank you
I have an XBR-65X900C that has the 4 blinks problem. I got it to start up and mostly work by changing the LD_ERR pin 2 to pin 9. The previous owner put it in unconditioned storage for a year (causing thermal expansion of the solder joints) after which it stopped working. If I keep it down to brightness level 6/50, only one LED is bad, but turn it up and the rest start flicking on and off. Could I take out the backlight strips and hit them with a heat gun/hair dryer? I'm not skilled at soldering so I'm not sure if that would ruin anything with the flux or not. Honestly I think I would just wait out until I'm ready to spend the money on new backlights and then try this first.

Should have a recall on those xbr tv i see on the internet its like a major problem thousands of people have same problem i have a xbr55x900f 4 blink sometimes tv can play 2h but most time 4 sec then shut off and 4 blink i dont see any shadow can it be mainboard issue or power suply i find it odd that i was able to have it on for 2h one day it was on screen saver for 10h never shut down until i made it play a video...

Sony XBR-65X900E issue. When power is turned on tv turns on briefly with 4 red led blinks and goes through a full screen color test of red green blue black and turns off with 4 red led blinks. Any input on what issue may be? Was hoping it was an easier fix then soldering 200 plus LEDs
Going into self test sounds like maybe emmc?

I’ve got the same TV. No blinking red lights or anything. Good sound, no picture. The backlight comes on. It was working great and it even reset a few times and continued to work but now is out for the count again… any help or suggestions would be appreciated

Its very hard to solder these LEDs , because the strip is a very efficient heat sink.I tried alot but unsuccessful because as I touch the soldering points on LED strip with soldering gun ,temperature drops and it results in a weak joint.

Hi Paul's TV co I have a xbr65x900c replaced main board and got no picture just sound. Then did an update to latest firmware and now it has no sound and no picture. Just bright white light initial power and then dims to light white and powers off. Tried doing a factory reset and will turn white then green but won't reset. Please if you could help me out.
Try to unplug all the cables and re-plug them back. If you disconnected LVDS cables, re-install them again. If this won't work, main is at fault.
@@PaulsTVCo I have XBR-75X940D i'm getting the 4 red blinking lights, my LED back lights all look good and bright. I tried the power+ volume down reset, it worked fine but i turn the tv off and turn it back on and got the 4 red light again. did the whole reset thing again and no longer worked. do you know which board could be the problem?

Hello i have a xbr70x850b. Problem is I turn tv on . tv lights up . has sound but no picture . it has no blinking red lights . I checked voltatages . every thing seems fine except not getting correct voltages to tcon board from power supply. I've tried 3 different main boards . changed out power board once . and 3 tcon boards . always get same results . can you maybe please help

what ball park would a repair like that cost?
Not sure. Most likely next time, I'll decline 4 blinks repair, because of the time it takes to do it right. I was lucky that 2 other strips had a solid connections (except 6 LEDS on the 3d strip).

I have same problem with my 4 years old 55x9000c .4 red light blinking code with a shadow at lower border, near sony logo.when i press this are with finger ,shadow disappears and tv starts working perfectly, but ater some time it happens again .is it loose led connection? hi, it is the backlight led problem, resolder the led and it will work, tv has a protection, you can find how. to fix on RUclips on model sony kd-65x9005c backlight fix.
