Let’s be real-you haven’t been watching the Cavs closely for the past three seasons. In 2022, the Cavs took the Boston series, and Boston returned the favor in 2023. If you didn’t see this coming, you’ve been missing the bigger picture. Stealing one game from Boston? Come on. They blew them out by 20 points in Boston! And the other two playoff games were close, even without Allen and Spida. Duh! BTW, Steve Kerr summed it up perfectly: you could see what the Cavs were building, the pieces falling into place. All they needed was the right coach to bring it together. Here in Cleveland, we know what it takes-we’ve been to four Finals and understand the importance of in-game adjustments. This team is built like a blend of San Antonio and Golden State. All was missing is the right coach!
When they started to experiment with that 3 big line up with Lauri, Allen and Mobley, I realized that they're becoming a dark horse. And I become a believer since then.

Ppl saying this team is a regular season team. Number 1, every team who goes to the playoffs is a regular season team and that’s how playoff spots are earned and 1 of the 16 teams wins so not sure how that makes sense and number 2, Kenny Atkinson won an NBA Finals so he’s familiar with the playoffs and winning a title, not like JB who’s an incompetent coach. Another thing to add, when Kenny Atkinson said his favorite movie was Shawshank Redemption, that’s how I knew he was a coach with an under the radar approach, tricks, and is a strategical mastermind, like Andy Dufrense.
@@dearmas9068 JB’s coaching style wasn’t great for Cleveland and he had them playing discombobulated, blowing 10 point leads in the last minute of games and throwing away like a 26 point lead to the Clippers, playing with low chemistry and didn’t set high expectations or goals for them. He only cared about winning a playoff series against the Magic for them, not the Finals, and he damn near almost lost that and the Cavs scored 10 points in a quarter in game 4 and went down 18 in game 7 at home. The Knicks series in 2023 is a good example too and he had them score 79 points in game 3, lowest of the whole season and lost in 5 games as a #4 seed. He also seemingly threw guys in the game at points when it didn’t make sense and made Cleveland be a #4 seed instead of a #2 seed in 2024 as a “strategical” way of winning a playoff series, which was designed to only win a playoff series and not win multiple because he knew they wouldn’t beat the 76ers in the first round who were a #7 seed, making 3 teams have better records than them instead of 1 (being Boston), so yes he is incompetent.
@@who-f8w that is incorrect. JB is a great coach who took this team from 19 wins to the 2nd round where they only lost, hampered by injuries, to the eventual champions. He got buy in and built synergy. He got the whole team to play well at both ends. He developed and grew the Cavs into an excellent young squad. There is a reason he was hired so quickly. There is a reason Detroit looks so much better suddenly. You're wrong about that. Period.
@ I guess you’re right, but he’s not great in my book. Not a Finals contending coach, good at fixing and putting teams together, but come playoff time when the team’s right where they need to be, he folds and the team loses in the worst way possible. Not even like getting close and choking, just being blown out of the water. 2023 is a good example that injuries had nothing to do with it, but development in 2024 could’ve gotten them farther. I will agree that Cleveland had a decent shot at a title in 2024 and injuries got in the way, but the approach and adjustments made to make them a #4 seed instead of a #2 seed just lacked sense and I’ll always look at that. And yes, he’s doing a great job with Detroit and I’m sure they’ll be in the playoffs this year.
JB is a great coach for a young rebuilding team... He did his job in Cleveland... They got playoff experience & they developed a defensive mindset... Only difference this year is the pace... JB's philosophy is not a fast paced offense...💯💯💯
How refreshing is it to have the Cavs back in the mix to compete for the ECF? The Cav bigs are awesome and Garland and Donavan have finally figured it out. I like it!
No superstar? I have to disagree-“Spida” is a walking highlight reel! This is exactly why Stephen A. wanted him so bad. I’d rank him just a step below Irving and Curry right now. If he wins a championship, he’ll definitely be in that conversation and in the same club. His stats and highlights are there; he just doesn’t have the Finals appearances or the rings yet.
