On reassembly don't forget blue lock tight were the washer and bolt were the gear indacater wire located. they say it's one reason this happens. Specially if it becomes loose. Just a FYI

Depending on the year engine there two different sizes shaft for the gear set the newest version the shaft thicker. There a company ooracing that makes a upgrade selector arm and they also have a washer for the shift star. Just a FYI

Lol what's the difference besides the top ends. The Dayton this yeas it's difficult to find just the shaft. Iv only seen it sold as a set. Hope it helps. I work on both engine as well.
