I'd rather crude cartoon drawings for explaining things instead of 99% fake video/images. Clicked on it to actually see what images it sent. Left in disappointment.
The problem I have with such documentaries is that the layperson has no good way to distinguish between actual photos and simulated ones. Can't there be a way of designating/labelling each with a tag: "actual" vs "simulated"?
he was referring to the general hominid species which can be dated to a millions years ago roughly. Given the similarity and our heritage with all hominids, it is reasonable to count not just homo sapiens. After all they were tool making, art making species same as homo sapiens. So as hominids first of all got to know the stars and planets from naked eye observation, making visual maps of constellations, then telescopes, and finally probes. So that journey to get to a fly by of all the planets in the solar system finishing with uranus, neptune and pluto was millions of years in the making. It's a general comment about the evolution of humans. I don't understand why people are nit-picking at cosmos videos. hes just started out, and people are just being snarky nit-picking pricks. vast majority liked it as shown by like to dislike ratio, but the people who liked need to speak up on this comments section which is a festpit of negativity. The videos are really good considering he's just started. Even though i've studied cosmology and theoretical physics for many years, i find them fascinating to watch. The choice of topics is evidently perfectly chosen which is attested by the three hundred thousand odd views for this video and the others.
The Voyager probes are honestly one of the most impressive man-made objects and achievements in human history. They are older than I am.....and I’m 42 years old. They are still transmitting data back to Earth.
Being born in 1985, I still remember everyone talking about me being born at the time of the exciting discovery of 1985U1. It was literally the first celestial object I learned about, at the age of 5 or so.
Voyager has two digital video cameras with 800x800-14 µm pixel resolution mounted at the end of its adjustable scan platform. ... Each camera has focusing and filtering optics that allow scientists to construct color images from the 8-bit grayscale captures.
Am I the only one that cannot wait for someone, something to grab one of these cameras and look inside to see what it is? Were not alone. It's just too vast.
4:40 Venus does not rotate like the other planets. It is the only one that does it clockwise. In addition, the inclination of the rest of the planets is not well shown either.
Well spotted. And it's a well known fact of the solar system, so much well known that it appeared in my advent calendar this year. It does make you wonder if the people making these videos are well clued up about space...or whether they are plainly doing this for entertainment and to make money.
Amazing. Evey time I watch similar features, I question why we still have such poor reception on our Internet connections. Why are we still struggling to get a clear Zoom, Skype, Teams meetings?
Cause Voyager was only transmitting data (not photos, 1s and 0s that we turned in to photos) at 1 data per second and it might take a day before that 1 or 0 got here. It was also only calling NASA. Web chats are sending billions of data a second (probably more) and it takes a person, on average, a less than 10 second delay to receive it in millions of places at any time of day. I'd say it's doing fine for what we're trying to do with it but also remember, the more we use it, the better it will be. We had 13 satellites in 1979, now we have 2,200 and telecommunications companies are planning to have 45,000 more in the next ten years. We'll have to complain about the slow speed of our neural nets then. 😉
Fun fact: The pressure in Uranus is so high it is theorized that it is capable of turning methane gas into solid diamonds. These diamonds rain down deep into Uranus, impacting it. But we won't know for certain until we get a ring side seat and probe Uranus.
The magnetic field of Uranus is determined by its very dense core structure and its secondary magma core and it outer mantle which are all rotating at different angles. The outer mantle is tilted at ninety eight degrees and the dense core structure is tilted at an angle of rotation of some sixty degrees. The magma structure is somewhere between these two angles . This situation was created when Uranus and Neptune came nto a relatively close encounter some billions of years ago and their magnetic fields were affected by this encounter. Jupiter had a magnetic field probably thirty or forty times greater than Uranus'. The encounter caused these Planets to develop the angles of rotation close to what we see to day .
At the 02:20 mark the video shows a picture of supposably a Saturn moon. I don't think the picture was but because of what the narrator was saying at that point gave the impression it was. Just trying to clear up a minor confusion with me and my son.
Excellent stuff! Always loved Venus & Uranus...definitely my personal favorites! There's so many crazy stranger things happening with these worlds!! Trippy existence on either one!.....🚀💫
Yeah! Uranus is a fascinating planet. I heard temperature is -200 all must be dead cold there. I wonder if there could be anything to get from there to worth a trip.
