Had to watch this for a Forensic Science assignment, and wow... This brought me to tears. Rest in peace to all the men, women, and children and bless the families of those who lost their loved ones. 🤍
i dont mean to be so offtopic but does anybody know a method to get back into an instagram account?? I stupidly lost my password. I appreciate any help you can offer me
I came just after reading an article from my human origins class that talked about the genocide that occurred in Guatemala. I read the case of Roberto Xol and it broke me. May all the families receive some closure for losing their loved ones.
How is this not common news? This should be all over the history books. This event in Guatemala is so relevant to our modern day world, but it's censored out. WTF I hate the US.
I dont think you know what "censored" means. There are genocides all over the world. It's even happening right now www.genocidewatch.org The cruelties of humanity knows no end, it's simply impossible to cover it all unless you wanna hear horrible news 24/7. And in my personal opinion it's far more important to focusing on what we're doing right, instead of what we're doing wrong
_"but it's censored out."_ Censored? We've known about Guatemala and genocides for decades. You think just because you personally haven't heard about it that it must have been censored?!?! _"WTF I hate the US."_ Ah yes, it's the US's fault this happened... oh wait...
That's not really how the news works, they don't report on the most important or worst things in the world. Instead they will maybe pick out a single murder and make it famous, or choose something people irrationally think is a big deal. There are many cases of systematic torture and cruelty to thousands going on right now, but people are very good at forgetting those (selective memory).
Not all mainstream US media has ignored these horrors. The NY Times has done an excellent job of trying to inform the public. Here's one example: www.nytimes.com/roomfordebate/2013/05/19/what-guilt-does-the-us-bear-in-guatemala/guatemalan-slaughter-was-part-of-reagans-hard-line
Dr. Clyde Snow was one of the first Forensic Anthropologists to help the South American countries discover the dastardly deeds that were committed to deny their people their freedom through torture and murder. Bless Clyde Snow for getting involved.

*"No more missing, guys, ok? No more missing"*
That last line was extremely powerful.

thank goodness for people like Fredy Peccerelli and his team....and thank goodness for DNA.....
Really good to see people do the kind of work most of us would rather not know about.
Thank you so much for sharing the story. Like as a Guatemala conflict in Myanmar.
Thank you so much for all this horrendous information. I needed to know.

I would think you mean *hate the media, "the US" is very little specific.

It's like "Bones" but for real. Great man.
Oh my - that was profound.
Amazing story!

Our history in school is just propaganda. There are countless atrocities like these that swept under the rug. Why is the world so messed up ?
Absolutely horrendous stuff.
Love it !
I hate hearing these stories. But when they are told, I will listen.
And wonder how we can stop genocides happening now.
