Very nice
Igbo men are actually really good with women, they treat us very nicely well except the overly oppressive ones but I think lots of them love to care for their ladies.
Bride is beautiful she rocked those dresses may God bless their union 💕 I pray to God 🙏 one day to visit Nigeria to marry the man I'm in love with USA / Nigeria
I am Korean girl and dating with Nigerian guy but my parents never accpt my boyfriend... they want me to marry Korean guy. I was afraid to be with him but i am ready to follow him. I hope one day I have a lovely wedding like this video. Please pray for me🙏
Awwwn that's so lovely but I know it's hard on the parents part. I hope your union lasts very very long cos honestly we Nigerians have a very strong culture, have you guys talked about marriage yet?
@@tarepeters3311 thank you Peters. we are planning to marry next year :) and i see Nigerian are having very strong culture through my BF. Guys are very responsible and family first. Also, he wants me to be a submissive wife so i am training myself to be obedience to him😅 this is very different culture from my country but i am adjusting myself to my man.
Wow, that's amazing. Wish you nothing but the best. I'm sure you love it here.
Would love to learn your updates, are you guys married now?
Thanks you so much DR NANNIM I'm so grateful and full in happiness for what you have done by bringing back my husband

What theres to like on It?
Way better than a American/European Wedding. You spend a whole lot of money for a 45min ceremony. So this is the origins of making it rain.. AFRICA IS TRULY THE BEGINNING OF EVERYTHING!! May God Bless your union with devoted love. Wisdom. Passion. Finances. Children. Understanding and Peace. Great Health n wealth.

This was a BEAUTIFUL wedding🥰 I love the culture 😊🥰 May you bless each other forever 😊
Lost my morals when I heard the gqom base drop 🇿🇦🇳🇬
Congratulations to you guys, may God continue to bless you. I’m also here to apologize behalf of the Igbo culture, most of don’t know the hair was from Benin. I honestly thought it was a whole new cute style. So please accept my apology ad let peace rain .
In my opinion, d reason she looks Bini is not d beads, d beads are Igbo; not d hairstyle, its just beads wrapped around an afro ponytail (packing gel in Nigeria) while Binis' style is like a crown dat covers d entire hair; its not d dress either, Binis tie red wrapper nt dresses. Its because of the COLOUR. She and her bridesmaids shouldn't have won all RED. Dats exclusively BINI. For dat dey deserve apology
How is that hairstyle Benin Benin hairstyle is different from this they look alike buh different
@@ormachi2893 true but if a Yoruba dressed all red is that Bini I get what you are saying but its colour and they did wear it like the normal wrapper but did it like skirt and blouse and its akwoeche material how is that like Bini like I said still get you point
So lovely and amazing God Bless your new home
The bride is dressed as an Edo bride. Beautiful wedding.
Exactly, I was confused because that is bini traditional wear, I don't know why people always confuse it with Igbo
I am very impressed. The bride and the bridal party were all stunning. I have never seen anything like this before.
African traditional weddings so graceful beautiful yes get back too our true identity
Amen to that!...too beautiful to adopt any other.😊
Congratulations and many blessings to the bride and groom!!!
She’s beautiful the out fit is everything jewelry and hair piece
Nicely documented and I would have loved to hear what they were saying too

I love seeing this wedding ceremony. Congratulations!

International relationship
I love your culture 🥰
Nigerian are very good in behaviour
The hair is bini (edo) traditional head style known as “okuku”. It’s originally the oba’s wives hairstyle. Have the igbos adopted it too? That being said, congratulations to the bride and groom.
Most Northern Igbos migrated from edo...... Like asaba onitsha etc...... So don't be surprised just be educated
links o7 so if I identify the origin of the hair style, it means I’m not educated? Pity. You’re the educated one then. I’m allowed to make a statement of fact but you’re turning this into an argument and I refuse to engage with you unless you start to be verbally abusive.
Well said. Good to publish such things . One Ibo friend once said to me that we Edo are dressing like them. I was shocked!!! Truly we all need to educate ourselves. Anyway, Beautiful bride.
edo to the world

Where are you from?
Beautiful
Beautiful! 💕
The bride and all the brides maid are wearing EDO traditional attire, so therefore this traditional marriage is EDO traditional marriage
JOY Blue just because they used another cultural attire doesn’t mean they are Edo. You can clearly see by their name they are Igbo.
That makes no sense so because I eat Chinese food I am now Chinese?
@@nigerianhurr90 You called the food Chinese food because the food is not from igbo but China....Then why will you wear EDO Attire and call it your own
@@laurettarichards3368 I am talking about the attire not the people
@@nigerianhurr90 😂😂😂😄😅😅😅😅😅
Congrats, I wish u d best
Whats significance of drinking out the cup amd passing it?
Traditionally the cup would have been an ivory horn
Congratulations dearie 😍
What a beautiful edo bride (since y’all wanna copy).
Yeah the Igbos have heavily copied Edo traditional attire, they are trickishly trying to make it looks like it's Thiers. 🤣
Edo hmmm I don't understand you people ooo
😂😂😂
my sister i tire ooo they have completely forgotten thier white cap nd beads
Which Edo are you talking about.how does the attire resemble Edo attire.
Cuz of covid, the money dance might have to be different in the future like instead of you know touching the bride's face with the money and then dropping it they might have to just put it in a basket
Can I be a bridesmaid ? 💕
Bride presents a cup to her groom,. Groom sips from a double stacked cup... It happened on my Sissy's wedding... Modern igbanku, sadly no trust
Is it an issue if the cup is double stacked? Just interested in learning.
Congratulations to you both. My question is, is this marriage an igbo wedding as stated? why is she dressing as Edo bride? The igbo this this day since to be copying the Edo traditional way of dressing and it hard to identify the individual.
@Sylvia Samuel the hairstyle is,and the bridesmaids dress
the brides style is igbo, edos wear way too much beads. there's nothing worth copying really.
Most Northern Igbos migrated from edo...... Like Asaba Onitsha etc...... So don't be surprised just be educated
Dat EDO okuku dey av d d Igbos dresses der hair differently
@@noel3421 so why wear red bead l thought igbo wear white bead?copy cat
😍😍🤩😘
The benins started the use of bead in Nigeria which later spread to other part of Nigeria. Honour should be given to whom it is due
Whether Benins, igbos or hausa used them first.... WHO CARES? You'll all nigerians representing your nation/colours/traditions. Just celebrate 'n enjoy "biko" .
efosa agbonlahor OK custodian of culture
Bettina Ibouanga we are all Nigerians but not from the same tribe and that should be respected.
@@UchihaItachi-nm3vn I know the differences and respect it, but what I find spiteful is the pressure some people put upon oneself by emphasizing the difference between tribes (in this case about the beads which is claimed to have first been worn/introduced by Benins). Wouldn't it be nice sometimes to just appreciate the beauty of a culture without laying more stress on it? That's what divides us.
The comment above states " honor should be given to whom it's due", meaning although an Nigerian Igbo couple organizes/throws a tremendously amazing wedding (which is supposed to leave us speechless , they assimilated part of the benin culture so it's not that authentic. That's shade if you ask me....
Bettina Ibouanga it is shade. And rightly due. These are the same biafrans that claim to hate Nigeria but are copying from a minority group. 10 years from now people will claim this is a Igbo thing because they are the majority. But edos who lay claim to this culture will be seen as the copycats when it is our culture. This was the dressing of royalty during the Benin kingdom. It is dear to us. We don’t appreciate Igbos copying it and then denying it.
Excuse my ignorance, but do you exchange rings in Nigeria or other african countries, or is that strictly European tradition?
y did the second gurl pronounce Emeka more than d first gurl..
How many days of celebration?
Im Igbo Nigerian
When I see these traditional rituals,it dispels the lies that African have no culture, congrats and long life!💍🥂💚
Who said that Africa has no culture? It has the most in the world!
I'm confused...do u mean "African" Americans (American Blacks) havr no culture? EVERY one knows and acknowledges Africa's rich and plentiful cultures.
@@locsbyholiday2231 I was commenting on your quote "that African have no culture"! You did not say African American. You said African! And yes, African Americans have plenty of culture also!
@@locsbyholiday2231 nonblacks really dont acknowledge, and why you're insulting african americans?
She is so beautiful gorgeous and queen more than African Americans women ..
Why plastic disposable cup? Doesn’t look good at all.

Plastic cup, really? Who the hell cares? It’s clear that you missed the essence.
You’re probably 1 of the 36 miserable souls that disliked this video.
Make yourself useful, go save some koalas in Australia.
This is edo attire not igbo attire
edos wear crazy beads, igloos are more subtle with their beads.
@@noel3421 all I no is this is Benin attire..most igbos wedding ceremony this days are Edo attire

This is nice but you hve to be careful becuz they told me modest women cover their head on the discovery channel
Why always Igbo bribe looks like Edo bribe ??
Abeg help me ask them oo
😁😁it depends on the choice of the bride.
@@oziomajesusoziomaa.6318 Ah, OK, I thought for traditional wedding, it was necessarily her tribe garment that bribe should wear.
Please help me ask them ohhh, then they will deny it but they all know Igbo brides weren’t dressing like this even ten years ago. Thieves.
they dont have a specific one like us if they love they can as well copy it and appreciate those that have kept it till now edo to the world
Alot of copied cultural pieces from the Benins. Igbo people are appropriating out peoples culture as theirs which is sad.
fusty Nessy I’m sorry for doing that, but most of us never knew. On behalf of the Igbo people we are sorry.
Sharon U God bless you. You are the first Igbo person to not insult Benin people in the comment section. Our problem isn’t really the copying it’s the denial that it is Benin/edo culture. We just want credit for what our ancestors created. Anyway sha, stay blessed.
It is not copied but you all do like you have not worn Igbo styles
@@ookies No there's no need to copy igbo culture especially when we have our unique culture. Be proud of yours or if you are copying, give credit and don't claim it as yours
Why are your feathers ruffled because she is wearing Edo traditional attire do you know whether she has Edo relatives, even if she has no Edo background what does it matter show love not hate this is what is killing Nigeria
Oranges Brown or you Igbos could develop your own culture and stop stealing? No self respecting edo person would copy an Igbo but Igbos will copy other cultures then deny it. Sickening!
Even the man is wearing agbada as if he is Yoruba 😂😂
@@UchihaItachi-nm3vn Why do you have this internalised hate towards igbos, I've seen you everywhere in the comments insulting them
Amarachi Amuwa because I’m tired of you claiming edo culture as Igbo. That is appropriation. Y’all are just vultures. F outta here
Amarachi Amuwa telling Igbo people to not copy my culture is HATE? Are you daft?
I dont understand how it is edo culture, my mum dressed like that for her maiden dance before she changed to the married woman attire of an igbo woman ,which is what she wears after giving drink to husband, we igbos we wear a lot of beads , but not as much as Edo people, the edo people wear beads all over their body even their feets, those beads the bride is wearing are igbo beads not edo beads. Its just a ceremony though, eventually she will dress like an igbo married woman with her two wrappers and scarf, thats the main attire once she changes the bead wear.
Edo people wear red for traditional weddings and red beads, also what her bride maids are wearing are worn in edo traditional weddings. Igbos don't wear this, I know because I have attended a lot of Igbos weddings.
