We only have their word to go on as well. The sister who is the victim in this case did not appear. I'm wondering if it's because she didn't want him released but felt pressured to agree to it by the rest of the family. She might not have wanted to show up and ask for him to be kept in prison when the rest of her family wanted him let out. She is the most important person in this process, and she wasn't there. I'm not going to take his mom's and other sister's word for it.
The victim is the person the parole board really needed to hear from. I'm guessing she wasn't there because she wasn't ready for him to be released but didn't want to deal with the rest of the family who did. The sister that appeared also tried to make him the victim, saying the other sister kept changing her story. I'm betting I know why she changed her story as well. This entire family seems toxic.

Ms. Rice, the woman in the first hearing you streamed, is an amazing woman. The last thing I saw her asking the parole board for was for Mr. Rice to be medically furloughed. You could see at the end of this hearing that she still carries an incredible amount of pain with her because she started sobbing just as the cameras cut out. She is incredibly brave and has developed a level of character that is very rare.

In reference to the Wilcox case - I was disgusted by the way the sister and mother spoke as if the assault was just some thing that spontaneously occurred without any action by the son. And hearing them moan about all the things he missed by being incarcerated at that age, he is the reason he missed those things! HE is the reason he has been incarcerated since he was 17! What about his poor sister who probably had trouble enjoying anything after the assault, especially with her family members acting like she was the source of everything that had gone wrong in the family. I feel bad for HER, not HIM.

That Dr was an atrocious & embarrassing witness! He's an example of what has happened to our health care system! He didn't want to be bothered coming to court, minimized the awful things that happened to that little boy, and was totally devoid of compassion & even basic human decency!

26:12 WHAT THE ACTUAL F is wrong with these people and do they care at all what he’s done, and apparently they continue to do, to his victim?! This is disturbing. This man will be out next year assuming he’s not out yet. It frightens me to know he and others like him live among the rest of us including my children and any of *yours.*

The predator hasn’t had any classes. I doubt he was held accountable for anything while growing up either. He gave the opinion that he would just do half his time and get out. No treatment no release. Also the mother and older sister should not speak for the victim.

As someone who was baptized, taken communion and was confirmed in the Catholic Church I have received many crucifixes. Everyone I knew that had them wore them inside the shirt. It's not for display, its to be worn near your heart.
I also knew he was full of b.s. as soon as he started bumping his gums and Mr Roche knew it too.

I think Heather's speech threw him for a loop and really hit different for him. It sure did for me. I also noticed Tony regain his bearings when talking to the cockroach.

I just wondered if there was incest going on. To his mother he has not done this once he's been caught once!!! To commit a crime so heinous at 17 makes him a permanent danger. I wonder if his mother and sister would be so keen on him.getting out if they had to take responsibility for his actions and serve the same sentence as he's given when he reoffends. What's his sister doing speaking to the victim? That's witness intimidation and I call BS on her wanting him out!!
