- If you’ve heard the buzz about Castedosa Guitars, well, here comes your man-and his wife (who is also his business partner)! From the former Fender Custom Shop Master Builder who created the Castedosa Conchers baritone guitar, Carlos Lopez has done it again with the new Castedosa Marianna guitar, handbuilt in Lopez’s California shop! Carlos and Stephanie stopped by CME to discuss the brand and the new model with our own Nathaniel Murphy, as well as how the husband-wife duo has made the brand into a bona fide family affair. Visit CME to check out Castedosa handbuilt guitars!

Out of my price range but this and the baritone are amazing. If I had blues-proctologist money I’d own both. I’d definitely take this over a Murphy Lab. Also a fellow quiet person it’s awesome his wife is so enthusiastic and gorgeous to be involved in the builds.
The first Marianna thinline is badass! Love it
Thought it was ‘The Godfather’ for the first couple of bars! That Amy Winehouse intro was beautiful.
I'm more and more impressed with every one of these Castedosas that I see and hear. That baritone is on my mind! And just a killer arrangement of "You Know I'm No Good" Nathaniel. Where can I hear the whole thing?
Carlos is brilliant! Every one of these guitars that I hear sound amazing! I'd love to play one for sure.
What a gorgeous guitar
Love this over the baritones. Above my budget but would love one of Carlos’s hats!
Beautiful sound vintage
Hell yeah!
I want a Castedosa man, have not seen a demo online that doesn't impress me!
I’ve been saying Mexican made guitars are rising in quality for a while now.
Wow
Can’t wait for John 5 and Castedosa to hookup
This interview😂
What a sales team, oy… guitar sounds incredible though
👀
amazing sound too expensive for me though
Drooling over these until I saw the price tag and then I dried up..
“No Guitar is too expensive, you just don’t want it bad enough” - Paul Reed Smith.
Still, it’s tough anytime you get above the $2,500 price point IMO.
@@timoconnell $2000 is my cut off generally
He seems to be selling them faster than he can make them. More power to him, I just hope players are buying them and not just collectors.
@@louderthangod true. Just out of my price range. I’m sure they are worth it
@@GearStuffandThings I’m just a teacher so $7000 purchase are pretty few and far between but since I’ve been playing for 30 years I’ve got a lot of mid-priced gear and at times I feel like selling a bunch of it and buying a single dream guitar but I’d definitely have to play one before doing that plus I have a hard time selling guitars, they’re all special in their own way.
I’ve seen how beautiful they are and Im sure they play great but the price is no where near what it should be.
Sounds like he read a book of tag lines
$7k!!!!
yep... beautiful guitars nowadays but the pricess..
@@Mr.Luuranko I'm probably just jealous 🤣
@@ryanwhitley5427 same, beautiful guitars still !
And you thought Gibson's were expensive!? 🤑
Yes but Gibson has awful qulity control and thier guitars preety much look the same. Iam assuming the reason the guitars are expsensive because he makes them in small batches. Its deff not worth that much but i assume thats why its costly and the exclusive parts as many people arent playing these guitars.
Does it sound great, Yes
Does it look great, Yes
Is it worth 7K, NO
I guess it's worth whatever people will pay 🤷♂
I can't believe people make guitars exclusively for lawyers and engineers and doctors...
They look to be well built and sound great. He probably has a better sense of what his materials and time are worth than we do. Have you thought about starting a company where you build guitars at cost for RUclips commenters?
Personal attacks don't defeat real criticism. I know. Newsflash.
Friend, as an engineer I believe your initial comment could be construed as a personal attack. Is there something wrong with paying a skilled craftsperson for their labor and experience? Or is this something you are entitled to?
@@philipbard2333 As a human being who makes observations I can tell you I don't care what your profession is. What matters is that our entire culture services money. Your feels and resume are irrelevant.
@@Zakdayak Amazing. Thanks for the time.
