Newbies to soldering beware at 4:22 she says the soldering iron "feels" pretty hot. NEVER touch the tip of a soldering iron. She probably misspoke that line. Solder typically melts around 600 degrees F. You'll only make that mistake once.

Yeah I was wondering what she meant, I figured she felt the heat coming off of it... Yeah will burn you instantly. If you immediately put some wet salt on it and cool it with some ice, it will help prevent it from getting too bad. It's like a miracle. I think the salt absorbs fluid through the skin through osmosis, so the burn doesn't blister, and then it won't leave a scar. Also really helps with pain. Actually it's so effective that when I've done this, the burn almost just disappeared!
Exactly, I grabbed the soldering iron with my whole hand thinking it was disconnected, when I was a kid. Never did it again.
Concerning the soldering, I wanted to add that tinning is also really important for extending the life of the iron's tip. Oxidation degrades the tip and gets increasingly troublesome to remove. Heat speeds oxidation, so this is mostly of concern when the iron is turned on, but leaving some on there at all times ensures a barrier to the air during idle times (when setting it down "just for a minute") as well as warm-up/cool-down. When ready to solder you might want to wipe the tip and re-tin.

So can you use this to niff packets going over any IM client such as AIM or facebook chat or even CUPC? or does sniffing IRC packets only refer to mIRC? and what protocol is used by other IM clients? I'm totally getting this thing though either way haha
First time i have ever seen snubs do anything that didn't involve a usb portable app and such her soldering was awesome, not bad outro music either

@cbader92 Darren's mic is operating on both channels it seems, where Shannon's just left. In the video when Darren talks, you can hear it stereo (in the video when attempting the sniff, before the ad.) Not an editing fail.

How can I prevent the attacker's ARP and DHCP requests from being captured? The attacker host is constantly trying to send packets.
