    Thanks for the video. I’m about 2 months into teaching myself Japanese using a similar method of Anki, skimming some grammar guides, and immersion.
    It’s exciting to have Nihongo Con Teppei change from random sounds, to understanding when he’s starting/stopping a sentence, or giving a list of things, to sometimes having a vague sense of what he’s talking about but not understanding the specifics.
    Keep up the good work. がんばる

    It seems like you've got things under control (you're definitely a lot more organised than I was at your stage) but here're two things I'd like to note after watching this:
    1. Don't worry about learning kanji explicitly too much, they can be a big time sink and you'll learn them well enough if you just focus on vocab;
    2. I don't think grammar study is strictly necessary, but I would highly recommend at least getting a good grasp on the basics through traditional study. I'd personally recommend going through the basic ones on the Dictionary of Japanese Grammar site (it's the neocities one), but it's a dictionary so it can just as easily be used to search for terms you find in your immersion. Tae Kim's guide is very good but it's more of a textbook so it's not as good in that regard (it's verbose and not easy to search). DoJG on the other hand is straight to the point with minimal descriptions and several example sentences for each case (you need to click on the entry to see them).

    Nice video bro, but some things I wanted to mention to you is that nearly all the immersion you do should be comprehensible.. I think watching JDrama's and Anime without english subtitles is fine to get used to how the language sounds at regular speed, but this should be more of a supplement to your easier comprehensible input which you should be spending most of your time on doing. RUclips has a lot of N5 listening videos if you want something other than Nihongo Con Teppei all the time.
    Anki for vocab is great, keep going with that.
    I think Grammar is a bit more important than people make it out to be, it can help you understand nuances and sound a bit more natural too. Doing a few chapters of Genki 1 and eventually 2 a few times a week will help a lot, Cure Dolly is also great too.

    As somebody who only has been learning Japanese for about 2 years, I cannot give a lot of advices, just can tell you to: keep going, never trust duolingo's word, be an anki enjoyer, practice the reading part, the writing part can be skippable most of the times if you're not supposed to write something on paper, etc
    (I took a french course because of school's policy of taking a foreign language class, and I thought it would be fun to one day go to france and talk with french people, surprise: france is hell and the demons who speak that language are summoning the devil every time they spell croissant, I took it for only 4 years but trust me when I tell you that I hated all related to France just 6 months after I started, and now, 2 years later, I can say that I'm as good in french as how I was before starting to learn it)

    If you don't want to listen to an intro on a specific podcast, you can choose how many seconds you always want to skip in the Pocket Casts app

    i use videos, busuu and then look stuff up myself. My only warning i give others is be careful with some of the youtube videos, double check what thety tell you at times as some stuff changes but most japanese people will tell you they dont mind you using the wrong words and stuff as long as you try your best, they appreciate your respect for the culture and language for trying. also be careful with videos cause some will try to turn you away from it by claiming its very difficult and will take the rest of your life to get good which isnt true. i love anki though it's so useful and i also use jisho to look up stuff.

      I think viki is a legal source. If not, try dramacool or any 🏴‍☠️ that has asian dramas. It should have a japanese category.

      Also, did you learn radicals while learning Kanji? Struggling with this, just started kanji.

      @@videos1543 I've only studied kanji, and I think I'm around the N5 level. But, I would really struggle in a real conversation.
