I had actually thought about that very subject last night before I read your comment and came up with a solution. Keine herself likes humans, therefor she would never erase a history that would harm them, instead, she most likely uses her powers to temporarily "move" the village elsewhere in the world. Therefor, every person would still remain as they were, just somewhere else.. seeing as the girl was held captive, she couldn't move her as well, just her history up till capture.
