For the green algae mix water at a 4 % dilution with the cheapest bleach - and spray it on and the green will all go repeat the process on stubborn green areas it works a treat x
Add another premiere to my list of Sunday chateau premieres/vlogs, luckily yours is earliest so far, now to just remember to tune in on time! lol How lovely your dad was able to join you for Christmas. Love the door, glad you got it to work! Wishing you both a very Happy New Year!
Not white! Shutters will be boring and turn green. There is a beautiful French color Blue Grey that would be perfect! Your father has been a great help! Listen to him. Tell your Dad I’m stealing his phrase ‘uniform like a unicorn’. My grandkids will love it😂. You made me cry when thanking your Dad❤❤❤
Judging from what is around us, it seems white is the consensus, however our neighbours just did a lovely duck egg green, although it's green it's nice. I wonder if there is a historical colour... we are currently the only house in the village with this green.
This is at least the third video I've come to the end of and thought WHAAAA that seemed a lot shorter than 13 minutes!! 😅🤣 Very entertaining, yaaaay doors, and if I owned a chateau or even a nice cottage I'd paint my shutters a soft almost periwinkle blue 😊🥰
WISDOM is earned through the aging process! Always listen and be ready to learn!👍

Thanks for the tip!
the white shutters will just turn green, go with slate colors for them. The darker color will help hide any algae/moss growth.
Haha, good point! Slate is really lovely.
I agree, I live in a damp climate and painted my trim white. I have to wash off the mold twice a year.
Bonne Année. Happy 2024. I love the grey shutters I’ve seen in France, one vote for grey from me :)
I'll start a tally! Bonne Année!
A blue grey for shutters would be lovely
This definitely seems to be the winning colour at the moment! Thanks for the vote. 👍

Everyone is saying that now 😂🦄 Jack's Dad was here for much too short a time, hopefully back again soon.
Great progress. You're going to love all that glass and LIGHT!
It will be so lovely to have all that light in!! This house has been so dark.
Bless your dad! So great he could come over and lend a hand. 😊
I know, 19,000 kms just to help us out 😂 what a guy!
Charming vlog with your Dad, today. Keep on with the good work! Your own children will be as proud of you before long❤
Thats so kind of you to say! ❤️ glad you enjoyed the vlog 😁
Happy new year! Door looks great! Oh, and why not try natural wood shutters (waterproofed)? You can always paint them later…
Yes, I like this idea :)
Happy New Year from Papamoa NZ🎉 Loving your Vlog. All the best for 2024 ❤
Aw thank you so much, we are so looking forward to 2024, and right back at you!! You're already living 2024, I hope it's great!
Great idea for putting in the door frame. Always listen to your father.
I'll tell him you said that! 😉
You are very good to be doing all this yourself, we have a house in Normandy, but we don't live there so we had builders to do all the work
You two are amazing!
Thanks Maura!
Lovely video enjoying your progress. Happy New Year to you both!
Happy new year to you too! May it be full of progress and laughter 😆
French farmhouse Diaries chose a blue colour that they say is traditional to their area of France.

Maybe a dark slate Grey would be nice.
second vote for slate, noted! Thanks!
You might look into an additive you can add to paint, it's used in painting bathrooms to stop mold and green growth. @@growinginfrance

youtube.com/@Seans_World?si=nz83HxV-iLHy-k08 painted his doors a very nice blue
This is great, thank you for sharing. Glad you're enjoying the videos!
@@growinginfrance you're welcome!! 🤞😜
I think the green is so characterful. 😊 Just don't go with grey, it's seems that grey is everywhere lately,so boring. ❤
I think the grey might also make me sad, too much green and grey in winter!
Upcycle the original shutters duck egg blue
