Dude what is this metagame? Some of Gen 9s mechanics (movesets, abilities) and some of Gen 5s (Steel still resists Ghost for example). Also no Pokemon from Gen 6 onward ?_? Me a former Smogon enjoyer is confused...But I like the animations of that game though 👀

My guess is because Wobbuffets job isn't just reflecting damage, but also to encore and create safe switch ins for the other teammates. Wobbuffet already has an obscenely high base HP, so upping defense and sp. defense makes it so Wobbuffet can take more hits if needed.
