I have to laugh at all the haters Josh gets because he is successful. Most people are too lazy to even research how to build a longbow, let alone do it, then build it a second time, work hard enough to fund the trip, then become proficient with the bow and to top it off, kill a grizzly with it. Keep sitting on the couch and hating people, more for everyone else who is willing to put work in to succeed. Great video and story.

Seeing that makes me incredibly humble and, at the same time, sad. Such a beautiful animal, strong, free. I can understand the desire to hunt; I believe it's deeply rooted within us. Perhaps I've been too softened, too shaped by city life, but I would prefer to see this bear alive. Knowing I could kill it but choosing not to take that final step out of respect would likely be my own path. But don't get me wrong, I don't condemn or judge you or hunting... May God protect you.
    Greetings from Germany

Id say it was. Hunting was necessity to keep us (human) alive in the old times, nowadays hunting for fun is stupid. Invasive species yes, anything else no.
IF there is bear that is way too close a city, relocate it or kill, otherwise let it live if no harm is done.
If you think about it, we will soon have flying cars and our phones will be like a neuralink on our head and we can write and call just with thinking lol.
For many decades hunting has just been a mindless sport of people that enjoy killing, but remember only god can judge us.

But in this case i dont see any reason to kill this bear. he wasnt ill, old, hurt or weak. i dont get how anyone can argue that this was ok. • @brando104
      @brando104 4 месяца назад +1

Why are even watching it then? Move on just because you don't like it. Doesn't mean that everyone else thinks that way. If your goin to be negative about a man collecting meat for his family a way more humane and ethical way. If you have a problem with that. Then there is no reason for you to be here. And it's called a challenge. The amount of skill this stuff takes only comes from someone that truly care about animals and the forest woods and earth way more then you do. Without hunting and keeping the population under control they will go extinct. but your so closed minded and know little to nothing about hunting. And your so quick to voice your opinion just to get some kind of fame off the Internet to stroke your woke ego. Just get out of here I have nothing else to say to you.

@@brando104 Bro what are you talking about. I‘m not against hunting, but dont tell me hes doing it for the meat or the population. Hes doing it for the fun and that is what I‘m criticizing. I just dont see any other reason to hunt this bear. And if you would really think about it instead of assuming things about me, maybe you come to the same conclusion. Furthermore I am just as you allowed to express my opinion on this video. Criticising something shouldnt be badmouthed, we can always discuss things but it seems you are not interested in it.

I'm 16 and I don't know anything about hunting but that's why I clicked on this video and why I am now writing this comment. I'm genuinely curious. Why do people hunt such big animals? Is it about feeling powerful, like you've just had a battle with a bear and won to such a powerful animal, or is it just for the thrill of the chase or the hunting itself? Perhaps it's for the trophy? Personally, I find it pretty ridiculous because you didn't have a fair battle with the bear at all. You simply lured it into a trap and shot it. Had you engaged in a raw battle, the bear would have easily ripped you appart within seconds. Therefore, I fail to grasp why you feel a sense of triumph over simply shooting an animal that isn't even moving because it is eating from the food you've just laid there...
That is my opinion at this moment right now but I would like to hear other opinions or insights on this topic because I want to understand why people do hunting better as I've never learned about it. Best Regards

I am not a hunter and have never hunted. I am not commenting to try start a fight with any of the hunting community either as I don't have any experience or understanding myself, but I just struggle to comprehend why you would want to kill a bear? It just seems like such a shame to kill an incredible animal just so you can pose for a picture and maybe make a rug out of it ? I appreciate that it must take a lot of skill and years of practice to learn to hunt and shoot animals, so maybe that's a large part of the satisfaction but regardless it just saddens me to see this man lift the head of this dead bear and gloat about how big it is. Seems slightly barbaric. Despite what I have said I respect the effort that has been put into this video and the hours of practice this man has taken to perfect his craft.

bears are apex predators meaning they have no natural hunters and given the size of the alaskan forest they can shoot up of high numbers killing and feeding on whatever small wildlife there is so the rangers and other hunters keep the numbers in check while maintaining balance in the forest. Also I read somewhere you have to pay some subsequent amount of fee for hunting. The money is then used for further conservation of the forest so its a win win situation

I live in a country where hunting is prohibited so it's unheard of here.
    Also, I'm researching anti-aging (as a biologist).
I guess I'm trying to say that I don't get the point in this sport. Why the intentional killing of a wild animal is a positive thing? I put it that way so you know how I think about it, and maybe see where the problem is. I'm surely missing something.
Like is it just for the feeling that you are strong so you can feel more confident about yourself?
Is it about gaining confidence by showing everybody around that you are able to kill something way stronger than they are?
Please don't get offended by this comment.
If this is really your point, than I'm not interested to read how you try to paint it in a good way while trying to make me small so you don't feel bad about yourself, but if there's something that I'm missing here, than I would love to know what it is.

seeing such a dump stupid Thing makes me realy sad.
Im so glad, that I life in a country, where its forbidden to hunt with the Bow.
And wow, what a great Archer u are, shooting such a big, fed animal from like 18 meters and didnt even hit the killspot realy good.
How far did that bear run befor dying?

My dad has built several stick bows over the past few years. So we know how challenging it can be to a animal with one. I am paralyzed from the bellybutton down. But I've been lucky enough to take two deer with one and it is the most rewarding feeling I have ever had. So I know how you feel Mr. Bowmar . Congrats on a huge Grizzly Bear.

i bought my first traditional bow yesterday because i wanted to get a jump on practicing for the traditional classic 3d shoot coming up in a few weeks but im also in the middle of doing the research so i can start my own bow build from scratch. im hoping ill have a stave i can work on soon and by the end of summer hopefully have my self built bow ready for shooting. but in the mean time, ill be shooting this purchased traditional and theres nothing wrong with that! cant wait to get my first traditional harvest and finally be a part of that cycle of life and one step closer to being prepared for my move onto the mountain!

These people that comment nonsense make me sick! Hunting and Conservation has PROVED to be great for the balance of the echo system. Bears also have to be regulated. It's about sustainability!!! And who cares if he hunts a bear, mind your business. If you don't like the content don't view it!!!
