Hey. A doc here. Been a long time viewer of your channel. Your contents are amazing. Btw most blue cut lens are marketed as protection from blue light from screens for better sleep. This is something that even many ophthalmologists believe in and fall for. However any bright light can disturb your circadian rhythm and dimming lights before sleep and not exposing oneself to screens before sleep is recommended. Turning off blue light doesnt yeild significant results. And yes blue light can damage retina. But the intensity of it released from our screens is too low to cause that even after prolonged exposure .
I only prefer anti glare glasses which mostly works when u drive as most of the people in India keeps their headlamp on high beam & when vehicle coming from the opposite side it's affect ur eyes.
This was explained to me by optician when i was buying spectacles and he recommended using blue filter lens instead of blue cut which doesnt block all blue light and thus solving the problem upto some extent. I don't know where you are getting your sources from - you haven't shared any proper research article, just google query results. But blue light filter glasses definitely help a lot for me. When I look at laptop screens for extended periods of time, my eyes feel much better if I use blue light filter glasses. Sure, most devices do have the option to reduce blue light, but most of the time I feel they just make everything too yellow and the effect is not the same as using a dedicated glass.

Additionally, you can buy a night glass which you can use to watch screens at night. It will reduce the effect of blue light in melatonin release. It can cost as low as ₹150.
Watching this video at 2 am , with lenskart specs and lens along with a lenskart advertisement at the end also screen time is more than expected 😂. I need many things to be in control
I think people are being misguided here . The blue lens completely blocks the blue radiation from everyway . The UV , mobiles , TV and it's the radiation which affects the cornea , the most . There might be no concrete evidence about that but you can try by passing the UV light through the lens and see the blockage yourself . It's not that expensive and in many places it's just a matter of extra 100 or 200 . Why is such good facility of spectacles being abused ?
Sky is blue since the first human took birth, and that blue light keeps us awake it is amazing for us. How can they do a sales pitch like that I can't believe😂😂
Because sky is not blue at night. But your screen is, and that ruins your sleep cycle You don't need blue cut lenses. But you need to stop using digital screens by max 9-10pm if you want to sleep fast and wake up early

In my city normal glass is around 250 and this blue cut lenses is 450 to 550 and it is not actually blue its a bit yellowish and the shop owner do a test in front of us by pointing a lesser in the lence and it is diluted after passing from the glasses
I like this video, but I personally use these blue cut glasses since 4 years. And believe me I feel that they are more comfortable than the plain ones. Coz they obstruct the sharpness of light and don't put glare( watch a light bulb with blue cut and plain u will get the difference) Secondly, due to its yellowish tinch it actually lowers the sharp blue light from gadgets. But Yes, it's not 1000 more than normal glasses you need to argue with the shopkeeper that they are merely 200 300 more than normal one's. Argue and bargain or else go to another shop. Edit 1. Don't be scammed always check the blue cut glasses on a white paper it should be little yellowish than normal one's. OR insist the shopkeeper to demonstrate you the blue lazer light, else don't take it
Just use any lower bandwidth colored glasses they are far better than blue cut lenses. Eg- yellow, orange, red. Never ever wear blue light glasses because after a long time your eyes will start paining when you look at sky or other lights
There was a phase, when I was attracted towards this blue cut lenses, but I wasn't earning so I thought of doing some research before buying anything, and then I found out how it was not useful, it was just another way to raise money.

Blue light from electronic devices is not going to increase the risk of macular degeneration or harm any other part of the eye. However, the use of these devices may disrupt sleep or disturb other aspects of your health or circadian rhythm.
Great video. Blue light emitted from devices is real and since it's outside of our usual colour spectrum of colours, prolonged use puts strain on the eyes. But blue light glasses are not needed. Most devices now have warm colour screen filters that change the tone of the screen to reduce blue light emission. Glasses are a smart sales pitch.

So I suggest everyone to ask your Optician for good quality Blu Cut lenses which only cuts some of the blue light but not all of it..!
Can u suggest some good brands? Rodenstock is it good?

The blue light doesn't harm the retina but the blue cut lenses ease the discomfort
I am a student and mostly use phones. The thing that I am a gamer who plays a lot of games makes me curious. Since I was 10 year old, I played games alot. My screen time in lockdown and even now is 9+ hours and still play various games. But I never got spectacles and I can see clearly till 40-45 meters. My family said your eyes will become blind but that never happened. Does anyone has any explanation?
You won't go blind 😂 , but genetics usually play a role in this , even my brother has a long screen time but even he doesn't have glasses
Dont know about anyone else but these glasses have helped me a lot
Due to classes and more work on my PC
My head was always in pain
But after using Lenskart's BLU lenses
im completely fine and i dont get pain anymore
Ditto experience
May be a placebo effect 😏
This is applicable for only cheap blue cut glasses. Glasses like Crizal Prevencia just works wonders. I have very sensitive eyes i can feel how much bluecut lenses from crizal works wonders.
Bro what was the over all cost ?
@@k.2515 depends on your power. I have a complex power with mixture of spherical and cylindrical, which costed me around 6k after discounts. It'd cost much less for simple spherical powers.
Rest is fine but do you have any proof for the effect you have mentioned about Sunlight and wearing Blue Cut Glasses? I do not believe wearing these will make you any dull. But not eating right amount of Nutrients will surely make you feel fatigued.
I have been working on laptop for upto 6+ hours a day without any blue cut lenses and i have no complains of eye strain till now
I am personally an optician. And yes Blue Light specs are not proven to be effective.
That is true, when i started using these yellow layered blue cut lenses, I actually feel low all day, I thought only i am having this issue but no...
Being a optometrist I am say that Blue cart lens is not for blue light . It's for the harmful uv ray which is a major cause of cancer and blue lens is 90 % effective in this but the rest 10% is for the good uv ray which is good for our body and eye
can i get a glass with UV protection alone and not blue light?
What would you suggest for those who are doing desk job 9 to 5 in front of the screen or those students who are taking online classes or who are full time gamers.
Currently no cost difference between blue cut and non blue cut lens because every company made blue cut lens now so you can get blue cut lens 300 to 5500 or higher price according to brand and transparency level
Yes I got Spectacles last year in August and I also charged Extra 350 for only blue glasse
Being a photographer and continiously working with display my doctor said i dont need a blue cut lens i need plain lens for laptop and anti glare
A few days back I had taken my father to a local spectacle shop to get his eye checked and then the shop keeper asked me same question the one he asked you. I simply rejected his offer citing my eyes are quite good even after working on laptop for straight 9 hrs. He said it will only cost 2000,,,however, being a Gujarati I wouldnt spend 2 rupees on such useless things.
Hehe....🤓😬
I am using blue cut glasses past 6 months and it prevents eye redness and headache.
I am not very aware about the blue cut Lens because I never had any. But I am too use laptop for long hours and used to feel strain, pressure and fatigue in eyes. An eyestore recommended me essilor trio lens. It was a really great lens and even regulated heat coming to my eyes. With the lens I could even see the sun and helped me with my eye problem. I would actually recommend the lens to anyone.
That's because the lens is a good one
7:42 there is also no scientific proof that longer screen time can damage your eyes
Man, I know this, and while buying from lenskart the guy offered me the same, and I refused and he argued with the facts.
i am using glasses from last 20 years and i recently noticed that bluecut lenses causes me headach and so for me only crystal clear lenses works. and you know what i was suffering from severe insomnia from last 2 year and probably this was the reason for the same. Also i believe your video because i somewhat felt the same.
Really thanks alot for the video.
I'm a dry eye and MGD patient. Blue cut lenses are absolute requirement to protect from screen exposure. For people who are having no eye health issues its better to be safe then sorry.
And yes I've had my treatment at a top hospital in Singapore ie intend pulsed lighting treatment to get my tear film better. Doc's there themselves suggest precautionary wearing of blue cut lenses.
Better you shut your half knowledge non sense.

When I was asked about blue lens I rejected it but they still gave me with blue
Actually bluecut is useful in heavy sunlight i can easily see and when i walk casually i remove my specs
Nai bhai...I have semsetive eyes from past 7 years, I have both type of lenses in my both pair of glasses, for me Blu cut lenses provides big difference, it also makes vison a little yellowish if you notice very hard, but I'm willing to make this work just because these blu cut lenses are so much comfortable to my eyes then normal ones.

Yeah i too had a hard time using blue cut lenses..cuz they are so dim like there's some yellowish tint which u feel is so irritating,..so i switched to normal UV ARC glasses.
I had been using bluecut lens for the last 7 years and it’s really works untill and unless your are using a good quality pricy blue cut lens

Before purchasing glasses for myself I watched few videos about blue rays filter. During purchasing lenses the salesman tried very hard to convince me to buy this blue cut lenses, but I didn't budge. It saved atleast 3-4 thousand for me.

mark the rule which I follow.
Whenever there is an ad on youtube, focus on a distant object with many blinkings.
Why is such good facility of spectacles being abused ?
but ham student's ka kya jo 5-6 hours daily online class krte h ??
screentime to jada hoga na
Sky is blue since the first human took birth, and that blue light keeps us awake it is amazing for us.
How can they do a sales pitch like that I can't believe😂😂
Because sky is not blue at night. But your screen is, and that ruins your sleep cycle
You don't need blue cut lenses. But you need to stop using digital screens by max 9-10pm if you want to sleep fast and wake up early
Its Called harmful ultraviolet blue light bluecut lens protect eyes from uv light not the normal blue light

I am myself using a Blu cut glass since 3 years daily at my work. And I must say it actually works, earlier I used to have teary and strained eyes. Now I feel relaxed even after 9 hours of continuous work using laptop in a highly illuminated interior. Please stop posting inaccurate rumours without proper qualifications just to accommodate a useless Ad in your video to earn commissions.
In my city normal glass is around 250 and this blue cut lenses is 450 to 550 and it is not actually blue its a bit yellowish and the shop owner do a test in front of us by pointing a lesser in the lence and it is diluted after passing from the glasses
I regularly worked in laptop in normal antiglare without bluecoated , my eye no. Didn't increased since 7 years
I like this video, but I personally use these blue cut glasses since 4 years. And believe me I feel that they are more comfortable than the plain ones. Coz they obstruct the sharpness of light and don't put glare( watch a light bulb with blue cut and plain u will get the difference)
Secondly, due to its yellowish tinch it actually lowers the sharp blue light from gadgets.
OR insist the shopkeeper to demonstrate you the blue lazer light, else don't take it
You feel so because of placebo effect, most people don't any glasses but still they work long time in front of screen without any problem,
@@sachinpandeyatd No I'm not that stupid, I had seen the difference and you can as well when you'll use it. Provided it's the actual one.

Bhai meri exams chal Rahi hai aur mera screen time 16+ hours ka aata hai kya karu...
I am an eye care practitioner and generic blue cut lenses comes under 700 rs..... Secondly blue block lenses , does relief eye strain not only by blocking blue ray but also unwanted glares , specially at night.... So better not to spread wrong information , unless u r a specialist and false information... Yes ratina will not get damaged but , definitely it exerts pressure on prolonged time....

Or you can google how these glasses are scam & a bunch of studies/articles will show up as in this video....
Bro, my brother is working in hospital and we also have an optical shop.
After seeing your video, I find you're right but not completely.
A blue cut lens can be in range of ₹ 300-3500.
Saying that expensive lens are scam is not a good idea because I am also wearing a lens from Zeiss and it worth around 3500.
Because these are imported lenses.
Bluecut lenses glasses are not a gimmick maybe not worth the price for you but for sure they have helped me in the last 4 years.

BTW , agar kisi ka kaam aisa hai ke unhe raat ko sone se pehele screen dekhna padta hai to normally phones aur PC's pe ek feature hota hai jisse eye-shield ya night-shield jo bhi ho wo ek certain time pe automatically on ho jaata hai EG: mai 11:30pm ko sota hu to 11:00pm ke baad screen nhi dekhta . So maine usme 11:00 ka time set kiya hai so even if agar kisi kaam se mujhe phone lena pade to 11:00pm ke baad automatically eye-sheild on ho jaata hai . Please though don't make this an excuse to use screen until late night .
Dude, that is not a scam. I have had glasses since 15 years ago. My vision is now-5.5 both.
I stay at computer screen more than anyone here. Before those Crizal blue cut layer, i could not even use computer without strain.
I am able to use my laptop pc mobile for long duration *without any strain* only because of crizal preventia. If you are buying a local 300rs lense with blue cut filter, you are already getting scammed.
