Actually my power is around -6 and I having an online semester at College meant 24/7 screen stare. Even though in eye comfort mode I had experienced much discomfort. But after using the blue cut lens the situation really improved for me.
This maybe psychological also but I have personally felt the change.

Actually blue rays are important for your eyes to keep you awake, it's part of the sun rays
In your case you were already facing too much amount of blue rays, so actually blue lens is necessary for you to wear as you use a lot of screen

Hey. A doc here. Been a long time viewer of your channel. Your contents are amazing. Btw most blue cut lens are marketed as protection from blue light from screens for better sleep. This is something that even many ophthalmologists believe in and fall for. However any bright light can disturb your circadian rhythm and dimming lights before sleep and not exposing oneself to screens before sleep is recommended. Turning off blue light doesnt yeild significant results. And yes blue light can damage retina. But the intensity of it released from our screens is too low to cause that even after prolonged exposure .

So they asked me to take blue coated glass and I also took photochramatic glass also.
When I wear I can see very clear both close and far objects.
After removal of glass everything is blurry for me.
When I went again for eyecheck now I have got power in my eyes .5 .

I also understood this scam after using them once around 3-4 years back. But not just Optometrist even Ophthalmologist also push these blue cut lenses. Last time I had a mild argument with a Ophthalmologist. I cited a report of American Academy of Ophthalmology that these glasses don't work as they are marketed. She got little miffed at me. Which was partly because she was selling Zeiss brand Blue Cut lenses in her clinic. Curiosuly I asked for their prices. It was not like 1-2k expensive than the ordinary ones. They were in the range of progressive lens prices. Which is like 14-15k. More than 2.5 times the ordinary one. I was shocked to say the least. Anyway I was not gonna buy them anyway. I bought Crizal ones from my usual optometrist's store.

You are right. There are many videos about it on RUclips even by the american doctors. They’ve clearly explained that there is no concrete evidence which explains blue cut glasses are useful. Even my ophthalmologist said to me that you need to take a break after every 30 minutes for at least 2 minutes (in those two minutes do not use any kind of gadget and try to look at a far distance). Those who feel comfortable with blue cut glasses will wear it and this makes them consume more digital content for longer duration which in turn increases your eye power. For some people it can even cause colour disorder.

I don't know where you are getting your sources from - you haven't shared any proper research article, just google query results. But blue light filter glasses definitely help a lot for me. When I look at laptop screens for extended periods of time, my eyes feel much better if I use blue light filter glasses.
Sure, most devices do have the option to reduce blue light, but most of the time I feel they just make everything too yellow and the effect is not the same as using a dedicated glass.

I think people are being misguided here . The blue lens completely blocks the blue radiation from everyway . The UV , mobiles , TV and it's the radiation which affects the cornea , the most . There might be no concrete evidence about that but you can try by passing the UV light through the lens and see the blockage yourself . It's not that expensive and in many places it's just a matter of extra 100 or 200 . Why is such good facility of spectacles being abused ?

I like this video, but I personally use these blue cut glasses since 4 years. And believe me I feel that they are more comfortable than the plain ones. Coz they obstruct the sharpness of light and don't put glare( watch a light bulb with blue cut and plain u will get the difference)
Secondly, due to its yellowish tinch it actually lowers the sharp blue light from gadgets.
But Yes, it's not 1000 more than normal glasses you need to argue with the shopkeeper that they are merely 200 300 more than normal one's. Argue and bargain or else go to another shop.
Edit 1. Don't be scammed always check the blue cut glasses on a white paper it should be little yellowish than normal one's. OR insist the shopkeeper to demonstrate you the blue lazer light, else don't take it

Great video. Blue light emitted from devices is real and since it's outside of our usual colour spectrum of colours, prolonged use puts strain on the eyes.
But blue light glasses are not needed. Most devices now have warm colour screen filters that change the tone of the screen to reduce blue light emission. Glasses are a smart sales pitch.

BTW , agar kisi ka kaam aisa hai ke unhe raat ko sone se pehele screen dekhna padta hai to normally phones aur PC's pe ek feature hota hai jisse eye-shield ya night-shield jo bhi ho wo ek certain time pe automatically on ho jaata hai EG: mai 11:30pm ko sota hu to 11:00pm ke baad screen nhi dekhta . So maine usme 11:00 ka time set kiya hai so even if agar kisi kaam se mujhe phone lena pade to 11:00pm ke baad automatically eye-sheild on ho jaata hai . Please though don't make this an excuse to use screen until late night .
