Driving home from work in light rain, gray sky with the sun just now poking below the cloud cover as the day is winding down. The traffic lights bend between the droplets as the windshield wipers streak begrudgingly across your field of vision. It wasn't necessarily a bad day but you're glad it is over. Hmm, a nice warm meal sounds good right about now.
I know what it makes me think of. Have you ever played Shantae Risky’s Revenge? I haven’t played it either, but hearing this soundtrack on a playlist, I had to find it.
this song always plays in my head when i wake up on early mornings to find the sunlight flittering through my blinds. it just makes me feel at peace for such a small moment before i have to get out of bed and get ready for the day ahead.
@@MartanisIV "Challenge Accepted" is the name. I think the name refers to how Virt/Jake Kaufman, the composer, considered it a challenge to remake this song for Pirate's Curse.
You have no idea how happy I was to hear this song again but remixed in Half Genie Hero during the Friends till the end DLC campaign that plays in Mermaid Falls. This track just radiates that smooth and chill vibe that you would hear in a DS game (go figure) and is just an overall groovy track that you could just bop your head to. Easily my favorite track in the whole game
I first played this game around 2011 or 2012? I was enamored with the game and I somehow got around the confusing parts of the game. There was a time that I thought the town was all the game had to it and I was stupidly confused until I realized I could back in and out. I replayed this game many times and I adored Shantae. It's 2021 and I bought the title on the Switch just because of how much I love the series and replayed it one more time. I always really liked this track for its nostalgic feel.
@@TamagoMAS Sirens music was really good, but its usage of 8-bit synths despite there not being any other 8-bit quality to the game was a little bit of a hurdle to get over. But I did enjoy those as well. Just not as much as some of the other games though Jake Kaufman is the best after all.
Best music in the game
Played this game for the first time yesterday on PS5, and this theme immediately clicked. Fantastic stuff.
First played this on mobile and felt the same

This song feels super nostalgic to me, yet I can't quite place which game it reminds me of.
Donkey Kong Country maybe?
@@davidcampbell1060 Perhaps. Kind of gives me SNES x Genesis x GBA vibes, but I can't really pinpoint what exactly.
Unreal Tournament 2004 Tokara Forest
Reminds me personally more than a bit of Pokemon mystery dungeon, so maybe it's the chiptune. But I could be wrong

Risky's Revenge doesn't have a single bad track as far as I know
That's Jake Kaufman for you!

Serene Comment
I remember getting lost there when I first started the game and had my sister make a map on a piecevof paper
Your sister is a great one , I hope your both blessed.
That background foreground navigation did get quite confusing at times.
This is chill.
Nobody told me shantae music went this crazy wtf
That’s Jake Kaufman aka Virt for you!
I cannot believe there aren't any remixes of this song. This game's whole OST is pretty unrated actually.
There's an official remix in half genie hero I think
@@ThatoneFelicia Ye I actually found that one. It was in Pirates curse and had a weird name like "Challenge" or something.

so chill...

Such a great tune. This is what memories sound like...
That's for sure. A very old and very good memory.
This hands down has to be some of the most relaxing music in a video game I've ever heard.
that soundtrack's pretty good
Shantae music is never *THIS* melancholic

My favourite song from Risky’s Revenge
DS game music hits different
Bit crushed goodness
Still hasn't been topped
this is the best shantae soundtrack
Unreal Tournament 2004 Tokara Forest vibes
Okay, maybe I'm crazy, but think song feels like it would fit in perfectly with Death Road to Canada's ost.
This track is very very gud. My favorite's music of Shantae games
idk why this always reminds me of Terraria.
why is this not in pirates curse smh
Sounds like Secret of Mana..
one day i'm gonna get virt on a project of mine, i just need an arm and a leg
Jake Grahfman is awesome
Lo escribiste mal es kaufman
I wish The Pirate's Curse's music was as good as Risky's Revenge.
SatPC's Scuttle Town, Saliva Island and Burning town are pretty lit tho
@@TamagoMAS Oh, they're definitely good tracks...just overall Risky's Revenge has the most bangers.
@@loveandrockets4life How do you feel about Seven siren's music then? It had good tracks but they are a little short/repetitive imo
@@TamagoMAS I would say I mostly agree with you on that!
