Back in the mid 90’s we had season tickets for our Padres & were so excited when Finley & Caminiti came over from Houston. Soon enough, the Padres were a much better team winning the NL West & going to the World Series. Cammie was my favorite Padre & in person, was very humble & signed many autographs for me. In 2011, I adopted a 2 year old dog & named her Cammie. Today she is over 15 years old & his memories lives on in our home. RIP Cammie & thank you for always playing so hard.
As a kid growing up in the 90’s there was nobody who played 3B any harder than him. It’s a shame that his demons got the best of him. May he rest in peace.
I didn't even know he was deceased! 😢 I saw him play in the 1980s, 1990s and early 2000s, as a kid, teen, and young adult. I remember him, craig biggio, steve finley, jeff bagwell and the rest of those Astros. As a Dodgers fan, he gave them fits.
It just goes to show that even at the pinnacle of success there can be a lot going on that can affect these guys. I wish it could have been different for him
Definitely a sad story. Glad we were able to watch him though. Wish he could have sorted things out and escaped his addiction. Thank you for your comment!
Growing up in Houston, Texas, when played for the Stros. But he was straight dawg on the field. He was a quiet person who absolutely loved the game. He was a freak of nature when it came to baseball.
theres nothing tragic or sad about any pro athlete who got paid millions of dollars. millionaires and billionaires dont deserve sympathy from the regular people
Ken was my fav Padre. Insane fielding and hitting.
Fun to watch for sure!
Without the roids he was just an average player
@@INYB his fielding was always good from what i have seen.

Great comment!
Man, that 2002 SI article blew me away. I’ll never forget reading that.
Chilling stuff. Thank you for the comment!

Good comment. Thank you for sharing!
Longtime Padre fan and it's impossible to forget him. Sad to look back and ponder what became of him, as well as guys like Eric Show and Alan Wiggins.
Definitely a tragic tale. Thank you for sharing your thoughts.

Sorry to deliver the bad news. His career was fun to watch. Glad you got to see each stage. Thank you for the comment!
He’s was a great player and top player his only issues was drugs seemed like a nice guy and sad ending and life behind the fame

Wow I had totally forgotten about Ken Caminiti… Such a sad story.

Definitely an intense competitor on the field
RIP Cammy
Left us too early. Thank you for the comment.
As an Astos fan in the 80s he was one of my favorites.
Exciting to watch for sure! Thank you for the comment!
@@BBUYTTV October 10, 2004, that was the day of his death.
Rehab in Arizona with Ken. Leader everywhere.. ❤
..
It broke my heart when he was traded to San Diego.
I know a lot of Houston fans were sad to see him go
For my money, Ken had the best arm of anyone who played 3rd Base ever.
If I could only attest to what I've seen in person, no one is even close.
Loved this dude
He was exciting to watch!
I remember when they blamed his death on steroids lol
Dude was a gamer! Hate the way his life unfolded.
It really is a shame, Glad we were able to watch him play. Thank you for the comment!
Will always be one of my favorite players.
He was a beast!
Build Like Arnold Schwarzenegger But Quick And Smooth Like Omar Vizqual @ 3RD.
He definitely was a big dude that could move! Thank you for the comment!
He has more MVPs than Derek Jeter which surprises me
I don’t find it all that surprising. Most seasons Jeter wasn’t even the best shortstop in the league. Thank you for the comment!
Never knew he died. Horrible tragedy.
A terrible end for sure.
They don't make players today like Caminiti....🤔
No doubt about that
I still say his arm was 10 times what his bat was.
He definitely had a strong arm! Thank you for the comment!
Best arm I have ever seen by a 3rd basemen
He definitely had a cannon! Thank you for the comment.
Man I have so many of his baseball cards
He had some good ones. Thank you for sharing and thank you for the comment!
R.i.p Kato, DMX usw..... 😟😢😟
Such verbosity!
Gun for an arm
No doubt! Thank you for the comment!
Great player
@@dean073able In his prime he was unbelievable
Badass 3 baseman
No doubt with a super strong arm 💪🏻
