Dance Macabre, or the Dance of Death is a piece by Saint-Saens for orchestra. This is an awesome piano arrangement of the original, preserved in the original key of G minor and full of pianistic flair.

Danse Macabre is the perfect horror movie theme
*YOU CAN'T CHANGE MY MIND*
Is it supposed to be scary ? I find it very soothing... or am I actually the ghost in the movie ?
Too cheery/ silly
True
It's played in a haunted house thing in the Efteling (Dutch amusement park). It's really cool, the fences move and stuff. You should check it out sometime, just search for 'efteling spookslot'.
Hahahahaha thank you!
YESSSSS THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOUUUUUUU
EDIT: After actually watching the video, I can now say a proper thanks goes to you for making this. This has been for the longest time, my favorite classical piece. Paired with the violin, it’s muy fantastico. Thank you Sheet Music Boss!

Ehm Peet my favorite classical piano piece is la Campanella
0:25 That moment when you realized just how screwed you are.
(It's called a tritone, and it's MEANT to sound creepy. It's been used in countless horror movie themes (most notably "The Shining"'s famous opening notes, and is also used in rock music, such as Black Sabbath's "Black Sabbath", Metallica's "Enter Sandman", or Jimi Hendrix’s “Purple Haze”. It's even used in american police sirens!)
you mean the high pitched sound that comes when something scary is about to happen?
This is one cool piece of trivia!
Taco Dude it’s the notes that are 2 minor thirds away from each other.
The shining doesn’t have a tritone, instead it uses Dies Irae, a piece representing death as the piece is about the rapture and wrath of god and all that Jazz
well tritones don't always sound creepy, they can be used in so many different ways, here it sounds creepy, but they add the motion to dominant 7 chords, they can add sombreness to b9 chords and diminished chords, they can also be really exciting and spicy to end your song on if you combine it with a major 7 interval
Light and pleasant sound, deserves like at all.
So... What about Verdi's "Dies Irae"? I've never heard a good arrangement of it on piano, so you can be the first.)
Seems like no one can see my comments on your segment of RUclips by the way...
that would be AWESOME
@@cheekybambony Didn't they compose an arrangement already? It's quite difficult to play but it sounds amazing
someone listened to the first 5 seconds and said:
"no, thats not it"
it was :(
I thought it was "La danse macabre" for shirobon in Just Shovel and Knights ._.
@@ziper-3058 to be honest though, this is most certainly not worse than the other and I love both

That'd be awesome!
They probably can , *BUT CAN THEY MAKE IT RUSSIAN?*
xd xd *budum tss*
I'm pretty sure the songs already on synthesia videos all over youtube. Plus the songs overplayed anyway
You can find Chopin's scores free online (legit, as it's now public domain).
This link gives a Synthesia and standard notation score:
www.mfiles.co.uk/scores/chopin-nocturne-op9-no2.htm
Aw man, you didn't do the Liszt version :c
But I guess this version is actually *playable* lol
Search Micheal Andreas Haeringer.
His great grandfather was Franz Liszt and he played this piece.
I palyed this once its easier than the liszt Arrangement but still very very difficult
If Liszt wrote this, we’d be seeing people having fusses
The liszt version is unplayable?
I don't know which is my favorite, this arrangement or Liszt's. This remains very faithful to the original (there are many others that are also faithful, but this is the cleanest and best one I've heard) while Liszt's arrangement changes several things, but is amazing regardless, although it's hard as hell (it's Liszt so no surprise here)
Another spooky video sending chills down my spine.
Versaucey hey there
Hey.
You mean sp00py
As somebody who has played this as part of an orchestra, can confirm that this sounds perfect.
Those tritones always give me chills. And I love it.
I can't believe it! I've always loved this masterpiece by Saint-Saens...
And seeing it be done beautifully on the piano by you guys really made my heart grow
and feel joyful. I am moved to tears, and sincerely thanking you for this.

This music is so good even the captions applauded a couple times.

To my opinion this is the most beautiful classical piece of music ever created. It's so beautiful, has some happy tones and dark tones in it and just I can't help it but to dance to it. They call it the Dance of the Dead which is quite interesting.. I barely feel like dancing on any type of music with a lot of things even if I like it a lot (with some exceptions though), but with Danse Macabre I can simply not sit still anymore lol. Maybe it's the walz type of thing in this music piece that causes it, or it almost puts a spell on me every time I hear it XD.
I want to learn it on the piano and this certainly will help. Also would love to learn to play it on the violin (that's my dream since I was a little kid and heard this classical piece for the first time)
That intro part is one of my favorite parts of classical music. Given how it's normally played on a violin, you did really well!
This os my favorite classical piece, i’m so glad you did a rendition of it! Great job!

I can't find the sheet music for your version on the linked site (grabbed Liszt's though, thanks)
Do you have sheet music for your arrangement available anywhere?
When I was in elementary school, my music teacher would play this just to have us hear where the xylophone was coming in. I've loved this song ever since. Not because of sequence of each note and chord, but because when the xylophone comes in, it makes me imagine skeletons using their own bones lol
You have made my day doing this. Keep it up boss^^
I played this with a school symphony a few years back and even violin 2 was a nightmare, i think I’ve just found my next challenge for a piano solo. Love it 👌🏼
I love this song since we danced it on my ballet classe! Is my favorite one to dance!!!
Wow THAT is cool.

On 31e october a dark ride called danse macabre will open in "de Efteling" in the Netherlands. It uses this song aswell

Btw, great arragement!
among my favorite songs; rad job y'all
Great arrangement but the piano simply cannot match the mood and timbre of a full orchestra, solo violin, and harp. (especially the harp and strings at the beginning)
TwinIceBear technically it’s a string (and/or percussion) instrument. if you were to use the pedal it would sound a lot better. although i do agree that a full orchestra is better
Literally one of the best musical compositions
Can you do Dance of the Knights?
Love this song, Danse Macabre!

Mega cool. Very enjoyable thanks.
Dutchies love this (theme park) song from 'de Efteling'
Really nice, I like it a lot. Just one thing... At the start, in original ,when violins are playing the main theme (right hand) the cellos (left hand) that are playing the basic valse rythm and chords, they actually play their third chord , that is exactly the same as the second one, in the way that upper tone is oct lower. I don't know how is that called in english.. 0:48 A Bb D then D A Bb instead, that's the way i remmember it.
Well i guess you Gotta do Ligeti's "Devil's Staircase" (Etude nr. 13, RUclipsr "Foxiszt" has a Midi for it) or a piano arrangement of his "Mysteries of the Macabre" or "Le Grand Macabre" next...
