Jazz is much more than 20 minute long instrumental solos that leaves your brain in shambles 😁 One of the main characteristics of Jazz is the use of 'Syncopated rythms', off-beat rythms. If you are tapping your foot, the beat would come when your foot is in the air, not on the floor. Its like humor in litterature, it takes you by surprise, its unexpected. All genres of music uses this concept to make music interesting and playful. Without it music would be predictable, and boring. Typical Jazz singers will use the same concept and play with pitch and timing to offset your brain and its 'bad habit' of trying to always anticipate whats coming next.

Yep, it was Sinatra who made this song famous. It used to be his song, but it's Angelina's song now. There are (I'm told) about 30 versions of it on her channel. The most extraordinary is her 8-year-old version on The View. You see this little girl being very much an 8-year-old as she talks to the host, and then she becomes this seasoned jazz singer right before your eyes. Unbelievable.

Full orchestra. Some artists wait their whole life to play at the O2 and never get the chance, and she did it at 12. My favorite thing about discovering Angelina, which happened when I heard her sing “I Put a Spell on You,” is that I had no idea that such a person was possible. Not only that, but I wasn’t even aware that I didn’t know such a person was possible so when I heard her, it was humbling and mind-blowing. It was only one moment and it made me realize I had no idea what amazing things life has up its sleeves that I have no idea about. She rekindled my hope for us.

@@robertsilva631 I remember it being posted in 2016 actually.. But anyway the soundtrack has not been changed. (I have a "photographic memory" when it comes to sound and music). The sound track is older than the video production itself, because that is the only way to make music videos. I would say she sounds more 8 than 9, as she has some characteristic changes in how she sings (not the voice itself) shortly after her 9th birthday.
You should watch Ella Fitzgerald. Her voice was built for jazz and music that appealed to classic pop. I see many similarities between Ella and Angelina. If you do get a chance be sure and witness Ella doing what’s referred to scat which is total impoverished runs and allows you to see the true nature of the importance of jazz.

If you want to taste jazz, here’s one list you can follow chronologically: Louis Armstrong, Charlie Parker, Miles Davis, Ornette Coleman. That will take you from traditional sounding jazz to free form Jazz in one continuous movement. Stick with Charlie’s earlier stuff. His health got pretty bad and slowed him down. Miles goes for miles. “Kind of Blue” has a familiar jazzy feel, but then “Bitches Brew” will take you on a trip. Coleman’s “The Shape of Jazz to Come” was literally the first free form jazz album. The timing of the groove isn’t based on the rhythm section. As far as I can tell, it’s based on the effect of the melodic lines on the emotions and the effect of emotions on the breath. Tune into the feelings that album evokes and you will experience some magic. Medeski, Martin, and Wood is also a great jazz trio. One of the first to incorporate a DJ spinning and scratching. That album was “Combustication.” I believe the album immediately before that was “Friday Afternoon in the Universe.” The challenge with reacting to jazz, especially as it moves into the more intimate xperimental stuff is that the songs can get quite long. You may find yourself on a journey that lasts an entire album.

The sound track is older than the video production itself, because that is the only way to make music videos. I would say she sounds more 8 than 9, as she has some characteristic changes in how she sings (not the voice itself) shortly after her 9th birthday.

You should watch Ella Fitzgerald. Her voice was built for jazz and music that appealed to classic pop. I see many similarities between Ella and Angelina.
If you do get a chance be sure and witness Ella doing what’s referred to scat which is total impoverished runs and allows you to see the true nature of the importance of jazz.

Reveling the age of any other singer other than Angelina is not a must, but with the barefoot princes it is a must...simple rule to follow -- she was born in 2006 just subtract the upload date of the video and you have her age...This is true in 95% of her you tube videos...hopes this helps...

Fly me to the moon is one of her favorites you have about 4 or 5 different videoes to watch throught the years. She sang this for Quincy Jones 85th bday at the 02 in London when she was 12. Quincy arranged an orchestrated version for her.

If you look closely at the beginning of THIS video, you’ll see the director and producer’s name “Mery Zamani.” That is Angelina’s grandmother and YES, she directed this beautiful artwork. I believe it is Angelina’s first (or maybe second) music videos. She was eight years old when this was created (I believe 😬).
Mary introduced Angelina to jazz music when she was around two or three years old.

She is not yet 10 here and I don't believe she and Ivan met until she was 12. That doesn't mean he is not playing the guitar part of course but it makes it less likely.

Angelina posted a picture of herself with the surroundings from this video in the background and the comment "In the making of my own music video!" on September 23, 2015. So she is 9 years old here, at least as far as the video footage is concerned.
The acoustic part is obviously a studio recording, when it was made is unknown. However, it's unlikely that it happened months after filming - it's possible she was 10 years old for the audio part, but I don't think so.
Why the whole thing was only published on Angelina's YT channel shortly after her 11th birthday is a good question.

If you want to taste jazz, here’s one list you can follow chronologically: Louis Armstrong, Charlie Parker, Miles Davis, Ornette Coleman. That will take you from traditional sounding jazz to free form Jazz in one continuous movement. Stick with Charlie’s earlier stuff. His health got pretty bad and slowed him down. Miles goes for miles. “Kind of Blue” has a familiar jazzy feel, but then “Bitches Brew” will take you on a trip. Coleman’s “The Shape of Jazz to Come” was literally the first free form jazz album. The timing of the groove isn’t based on the rhythm section. As far as I can tell, it’s based on the effect of the melodic lines on the emotions and the effect of emotions on the breath. Tune into the feelings that album evokes and you will experience some magic.
Medeski, Martin, and Wood is also a great jazz trio. One of the first to incorporate a DJ spinning and scratching. That album was “Combustication.” I believe the album immediately before that was “Friday Afternoon in the Universe.”
The challenge with reacting to jazz, especially as it moves into the more intimate xperimental stuff is that the songs can get quite long. You may find yourself on a journey that lasts an entire album.

Sinatra’s version was arranged by Quincy jones. For Quincy’s eightieth birthday celebration in London, Angelina opened up the celebration with THIS song, sung to the Sinatra/Jones arrangement.

Slight correction. BBC radio broadcast the O2 concert and I took the sound from that and synchronised it with the rehearsal video, the sound of which was unusable. Hope that’s clear.
