Bare in mind they were just about the only wigs at Party City, everything else was a knock off Golden Girls wig. Watch me take these tresses to Sesame Street. That's right we are going to make a muppet puppet inspired wig with very cheap wigs and craft materials from Joann Fabrics discount section. Get into it sis!

Omg, my grandmothers friend always used a blue tint - and I was like four and always referred to her as the blue lady . I could stare it for hours and wonder , how? Then I saw my grandmother do here’s and it was a pale mauve - thanks for that trip down memory lane

Where I’m from (Scotland, UK) it’s called a blue rinse - old people are nicknamed the Blue Rinse Brigade 😂 I used to play bingo with my grandma before she died and every week, I’d look around the bingo hall and see a sea of silvery blue roller sets 😂💕

My Nan did purple in her hair up until her last 80s. She was slightly colour blind as well and hated anyone else doing her hair. Always used to much purple and it was so intense at times /neon and we were told not to ever comment on it to save embarrassing her. I was young but always found it exciting.

Where I used to work we sold the violet rinses to a lot of older people at first. Then when the grey hair trend took off we had all kinds of people buying it. It was a pretty cool trend to observe and assist people with.

Never heard of a purple rinse but over here in the UK, at least my area of the north of England we often say blue rinse. I thought blue rinses were a myth til a couple of years ago, I finally saw a lovely old lady with a definite pale greysh blue tint to her hair and I had to ask her if that was a blue rinse. She told me it was but it went a bit off this time but she rather liked it. I said her she could go properly blue, it'd look great on her and she grinned and said "Who says I haven't already done that?" She was one badass Grandma for sure!

Up until recently my grandma (who just turned 94 this month) would get her hair washed and roller set every week and she would use a silver rinse for her white hair which would turn a bluish color if she used too much lol! I think the brand she used was called Roux and the color was called "White Minx" lololol! I think it was only recently discontinued. I guess modern toners and toning shampoos replaced a lot of the old school rinses.
I just checked, Sally Beauty carries "Roux" and the website sells both White Minx and Ultra White Minx! Ooooh La La 😍💋
