I really like the lumberyard at the beginning...a seamless transition between backdrop and scene. In fact, everything looks very well done. The trees do look fantastic! Thank you for sharing!
Fantastic details and the backdrops are beautifully blended in to the foreground! A lot of work and hrs on this railroad sir! Thanks for the update. Cheers Gregg.
Wow, really cool layout, immediately subscribed. Hard to believe you managed to do all of this in just a single garage. Really efficient use of space. Looking forward to your next videos.
Looks great David! I’ll be adding videos of my N scale layout on YT soon. I’m also going back to HO just part time for now. N gauge collection has grown over these past couple of years and is my biggest collection out of all the rest.
I love the Katy! I grew up in my hometown of Vinita, Ok.. The Katy and Frisco crossed each other in the town center. The crossing is still active today as well, but now is Union Pacific crossing over BNSF.🙃 In the 1970's being a train crazy 8,9, and 10 year old kid, I've alot of wonderful, small town America summertime memories, hanging out at the tracks. The old classic Katy Depot on East Canadian Ave., was my favorite spot. Sadly, its no longer in existance today. I'm currently building my 3rd and final, hopefully signature, industrial switching layout. Its total freelance with a touch of prototypical realisum in its story. "Company West & Katy Industrail Branchline Railroad" Fictionaly, 1.5 miles West off the layout, from Cougar Yard Interchange, it connects with the MKT, loosly in the time era of 1970's. Located in the small, rural fictional Oklahoma town, of Ink Falls. Due to the horrible national economy, and the recession of the times. MKT Railroad planned to abandon the 12 mile industrial line. In a uproar, the towns people begin to search for a way to save the town, from becoming yet another ghost one, due to bad economics of the 70's. But most of all their jobs they and their families depended on. In great jeapordy of closing industries and devestating job loss, Company West Rail Contracters Inc. was called in for the rescue. Their a independent company that specializes in the revitilization, and salvation from abandonment, shortlines, and industrial branchlines. They purchased the line from MKT, to fully maintain and operate it out of their own pockets. Establishing individual transport contracts with the five industries the branch serves. Every five years, they set down at the contract table with the Katy, re-establishing agreements for the realiable and safe, and in timely manner, transportation of all the branchline industries, outbound and inbound freight. C.W. has purchased alot of used older eqt. from MKT. Older locos, ect., ready for retirment or the bone yard. They restore, repair, ect., in their own Ink Falls Division Shop. I'm sharing all this to make a point. Could you share with me any info or where you've found alot of your MKT items? Those beautiful green/yellow safety stripe cabooses. Those are hard to find. They get snatched up quick especially if new. I've not too much trouble finding freight cars, locos, ect. for MKT, but those cabooses, hard to find! I'm on the hunt for the green/yellow safety stripe, or classic Katy red eqt. to add to my layout collection. Any info would be appreciated. God Bless my friend. Sorry for all my yak yak! As you can see I'm still train crazy at 56 yrs. old!😆👌👍 Love your layout! Beautiful! Looks like Waco Tx in that era. I subscribed today. Don't want to miss out on any of your stuff you got going. Thanks again, and for enduring my comment novel!
Groovy! I gave you a like and subscribed. I used to reside in Temple, Tx. Awesome layout. Hope to see you in Plano for the train show if weather permits.
Thanks for an excellent video. I live very close to the MKT trail here in middle Missouri. It's a "bike" trail now and I ride it often. I'm just getting into model railroading...and while I anticipate my layout will be a bit eclectic...it will certainly have some segments dedicated to the MKT.
I enjoy all tours with special attention on the engines as I like to see what you have! I'm not a fan of helix, I would rather have an incline and a large loop to use for miles of running! You can do what you want with your layout, but myself I wouldn't use graffiti and not a fan of weathering as it takes away from the details and beauty of them! I do think you have a very nice layout abd appreciate the tour! If you would post info on the trees, their great! Thanks again for your layout tour!
A great presentation of a great layout David! Will be asking a few questions on some of the cool stuff. Where is your Mesquite Belt car? Asking for my son… Looking forward to visit again & maybe run some trains!
I am doing a signal project on my entire layout . Can you please tell who helped you and what products you used on your layout , any suggestions or ideas 💡 would be a great help 😊 … please 🙏 thank you ..
Looks great,,I would start with the buildings first, with details and weathering,,along with road works etc,,do rolling stock last,,so you have a good idea of placement..

Great video! Don’t sweat how long it takes to complete your world, it’s supposed to be fun - not a job. You’re doing quite well. Thanks for sharing.
