Hi Noune, hope you are doing fine. If I move to Belmont, what would approx be the monthly rent for a 1bed room kitchen apartment?

It will be very hard to find a 1 bedroom rental in Belmont. Pinaki Sur. I don't do rentals but I just looked it up and the rents are between $1600-$1900 depending on the condition and size. Hope that helps! If looking for a small apartment in the area it's better to look at Watertown, Allston, Brighton, you will have an easier time finding a 1 bedroom in a building. Belmont is mostly single or 2 family homes. Large rental complexes (Royal Belmont) would be more expensive, lie $2500+ for a 1 bedroom.

As with most towns there are different neighborhoods. There are a lot of multi-family houses with 2-3 apts each. There is also a bunch of single family homeowners. Then there is Belmont hill which let's just say is well out of my budget. It is common if you are a single adult to rent a 2BR and get a roommate. I've lived in Belmont since 2015 so let me know if you have questions about the area.

Strange...no mentioning of property taxes. Belmont LOVES tax overrides. Belmont is largely funded via property taxes as it usually shuns new commercial applications (it really is a town of homes and not businesses). So if you love overrides and high taxes you just might be a good fit for Belmont.

Yes, you are right, Belmont taxes are on the higher side. When comparing to other Boston suburbs, I would say Belmont taxes are not the highest, though.
