One World Flyer :D
these go around onboard videos are so rare and especially in an A380.Magnificent.
Thank you for watching and your comment :D
for real
I love the pilot’s tone! “Safety must come first, I hope you understand”
Thanks for watching! Haha I agree :)
Wow! The A380 sure is really quiet, even in Take-off/Go-around thrust.
+DFW Aviation +DFW Aviation You're right! I compared this video to the takeoff video on b747 and A330, A380 is very quiet and calm!
Thanks for watching :D
It surprised me too. But the HUGE wing struck me the most
@@JaydenWong The sound of large passenger aircraft is very quiet, including take-off and landing are very stable.👍
@@JaydenWong I once took off from Bangkok with a Thai Airways a380. I thought it was still taxiing. Actually the speed was already very fast, but I didn’t feel any weightlessness.
I fly regularly and usually only Boeing 777s and A380s (I fly through Emirates). You're correct, the A380 is strikingly quiet. The 777 vibrates loudly, then rattles down the runway before you feel the lift as the plane rotates and gets airborne. The A380, you could genuinely think is still taxiing for the entire thing.
Amazing aerial view of the whole HK Island and seeing the past Kai Tak runway!
Wow, that beautiful machine just went back up in the air with ease. Thanks for posting this.
+Marvin Washington Thanks for watching :) It was a smooth flight!
Fantastic video! Must have been an interesting experience. Really cool aerial views of Hong Kong and Kai Tak! Thanks for sharing, mate! :)
Thank you for watching :D I appreciate it
Awesome video, One World Flyer. Simply amazing. Its lucky you happen to encounter such a clear day and was landing from the East, allowing the scenic view over the city. And the "unfortunate" go-around allows us to view otherwise seldom seen aerial views of Shenzhen, and Shek Kong (in HK). Good video.
Thank you so much for watching :D
I think I might be the one who felt happy for the unfortunate event XD
You may also see the old Kai Tak airport :D , shown in thumbnail
According to my understanding, the pilot's announcement is correct. Its not unusual to have wind shear in the summer at HK airport. Its mainly terrain-induced wind shear, from wind blowing from the south or southeast hitting Lantau Peak and the subsequent turbulence as it comes down the slopes and blow across the airport. This is not to suggest HK Airport is dangerous by any means. The airport is equipped with state-of-the-heart wind shear warning systems and both air traffic control and pilots are well-trained to handle such situations.
Yep I'm still alive just because of the well-trained pilots and air traffic controller :D
awesome capture of rare a380 go around!!
Thank you so much for watching :D
Really love the scenery and the weather out there! I felt like I was inside there (even though I never took A380 before and I landed in HKG last 2 years at night!)
Thank you for watching! I'm sure the night view is good too, imagine the plane takes off when the Victoria Harbour is having a firework show XD
Nice overviews of the city too, looks like they're working on expanding that airport too.
Yep, they are building a third runway (just like LHR) and constructing a bridge connecting Hong Kong, Macau and China. Thanks for watching :D
Simply amazing, very rare go-around and turn right to sightseeing the HK city places:) La plus belle place pour visiter Hongkong thanks you, its my favorite flight HKG (applause)
Sometimes, I appreciate the go around even if there is a delay XD
Thank you so much for your lovely comment :D
Lovely video!
Thank you :D
It's like your getting an aerial tour of Hong Kong.
I like how you go can see the old airport (now a cruise terminal)
Thanks so much for watching! I wish Kai Tak is still an airport!
Excellent video! reminds me of my BA business class flight from London to Toronto :)
Thanks a lot for watching! Did you experience a go-around as well?
Stunning capture! May I feature this go around in one of my next uploads? Of course with a link back to your original video. Cheers!
sure! thanks for asking!
Thank you!
hi, nice to meet you. that day i was spotting in the airport saw it go around . I was delighted when i noticed your video, IT IS AWESOME .
Great! I hope you enjoyed :D
Wow... those are some amazing views of Hong Kong!
Thank you for watching! I loved it so much :D
Great video thanks
You're welcome, thank you for watching!
Landing delayed but you've got a valuable chance to get a great bird eye view of Hong Kong.
you’re absolutely right!
Good catch! That would be a fairly rare event I would imagine.
totally! My first and only go around in Hong Kong :)
great video, I have flown on BA A380 yup they are smooth and quiet, Thank you, I have subscribed
Thank you :D
very nice video. super smooth go around, barely noticed engines increasing. A380 is wonderfully quiet. landings in HKG are the best in the world...day or night!
Thank you for watching! A380 is really quiet. Everytime I fly on one and I'm still surprised by how quiet it is! The go around in HK allowed once-a-lifetime low flying over Hong Kong city XD
It's like takeoff/landing at Kai Tak Airport!
Regretfully I never had that pleasure.
Matthew Cheung Lai tak
Is A380 more smooth than other planes?
12:30 thank me later
you miss a very nice approach and aerial view of HK
@@ggurks Also has some aerial view of Shenzhen after go around.
thanks
Nice video, that's pretty impressive!
Thank you for watching :D
Thankyou very much !
thanks for watching :D
boy has Hong Kong changer since Kai-Tek days! and wow that Macau-Hong Kong three island connection is awesome engineering!
indeed! The whole bridge and new airport look spectacular from the air
@@JaydenWong i mean totally!!!!
10 minutes extra aerial tour in nice weather
Yep, and it was free :D
nice video thx
Thanks for watching :D
That airport so smooth is beautiful and nice
Thanks for watching! I love HKG :D
I like the design.
Awesome video! May I use it In one of my videos? (I will of course link back to your video in the description)
Awesome videos :)
Thank you :D
You're very welcome :)
Ho, right, Many thanks for answering. Take care
nice to see that the Lufthansa A 380-800 is also landing.
and thanks for watching :D
very very cool video, big thumbs up for sharing
Thank you for watching :D
Outstanding. :)
Thanks a lot for watching mate!
Fabulous video mate! BTW was that another A-380 Lufthansa landing at the end of the vid?👍
Thanks for watching! Yes it was, btw, we were parked next to an Emirates A380, but it was on the other side...
Is it just me or has it been a good year for air quality in HK? Lots of super-clear approach videos.
There were certainly more clear days in 2016! But when the air quality was bad, it was extremely bad...
Nice of the captain to explain windshear
totally!
Beautiful Harbour city! love maritine cities such as HK
Thanks for watching! I love my city
That's y i love a380 that it is quiet, big, have fly by wire system that make us safer
+Star Yo Thanks for watching! Yeah it's unbelievable, the larger the smoother 👍🏼
20:46 former Kai Tak Airport in sight
Correct, thanks for watching!
he wanted to land there instead
I see it earlier than that at 7:05.
One World Flyer I wish the airport stayed open long enough for the A380, but then again, it was difficult enough getting an A330 there. So building Chek Lap Kok was a much better idea.
extraordinary...
+Nezih Demirozman Thanks😃
That's how I like my emergencies, nice and calm and understated
yes totally haha
Very nice video. Business class? Very rare go-around and turn right to sightseeing the HK city places lol
Thank you for watching :D
Yes it was business class and I felt so lucky that I filmed the whole thing!
One World Flyer your welcome
This has to be one of the most breathtaking airport approaches anywhere, there are some fantastic sights. My friend visited enroute to Australia but couldn't handle the humidity.
+Amy Baker Thanks for watching! :) The bigger the plane, the greater the view! Which city did you friend go? I'm currently in Adelaide and it is super dry here.
One World Flyer I think Amy is referring to the humidity in Hong Kong, not Australia.
You will enjoy hk on December and January! I chose this month's vacation to hk!
Excellent video there, I believe this is wind shear alert, not cross wind & I have liked this video of your.
Thank you so much for watching! Yes it was wind shear
Awesome video, very last minute go around. If it was a wind shear alert, from speaking with a few pilots, they really have no choice but to go around when they receive a wind shear alert. Happy new year.
Yep, it was a rather interesting experience with my mum XD, thanks for watching!
When I Travel The World hencon
Nice intro!
Thanks :)
I was landing at HK last year, but at night, without go-around :( But that was amazing view anyway!
Great! The skyline is amazing when the sky is clear :D
A fenshui runway. Washboard pattern is good for energy waves of the passengers.
I believe it is a Fengshui runway! Beautiful view as well before landing if weather condition is alright :D
Thanks a lot for watching!
Awesome catch!
Why did he go around? Was it windy?
Must have been a great feeling in the huge A380 with full thrust and back up again ;)
It was wind shear, so I guess it was windy :D It was a memorable experience!
Thank you for the video. Did they tell you why they couldn't land? It made for a splendid image, indeed!
I have subscribed.
Yep, they made an announcement at 18:20 :D
Thank you!
I ahall take another look. I was doing two things at once!
Also the water looked smooth as glass...
Great video mate. Must have been interesting to see everyone's reaction. Happy 2017!
Yep, my mum didn't even know there was a go around xd
Why million ads??
its like ITV lol
New video to me. 💁🏼♂️💁🏼♂️💁🏼♂️
Beautiful fly in, over HK. Love the wing dips.
So close, but no. Must go around.
Video title: Before He Spoke. Haha
I wish I can experience a go around like this again, HK is just so beautiful during a clear day! thanks Steve🤪
One World Flyer
And in an A-380, no less? Exciting. 😃
I was looking for smoke or flags to get an idea what the winds were butt I guess they do not have smoke or flags in Hong Kong....
Thanks for watching! Haha you're right, I found a flag at 30:52 :D
I don't mean to presume, but probably he was coming in a little fast, too. Seemed high and fast, maybe because of the possible wind shear?
what a hard landing !!! did the other plane that was landing went around also? seem like it
What happened in the first video, the landing at Hong Kong Airport? Very cool video. Thanks for sharing.
+Christy Krohne The aircraft experienced wind shear, so pilot decided to go around :D Thanks for watching!
Chinese flight attendant doesn't quite know how to translate captain's announcement about wind shear or go around in an elegant manner 🤣
13:14 The lady talking speculates on the cause of the go around, or 'taking-off again' as she puts it. She says maybe it's because the plane was in a rush and arrived too early and since the A380 is a big plane they didn't have space for it haha
26:26 MY HOUSE IN HongKong ! (the building next to Sky100)
Haha actually been there myself.
I live in Yuen Long so unless there's a go around for landing at runway 25 you won't see my apartment 😝
Nice video! What camera did you use?
Thank you!
I used my mum's iPhone 6s
12:29 do you think gate 19 is the longest jet bridge at HKG airport? It sure looks like it!
I think so! I've been on that jet bridge a couple of times.
RUclips嘅神奇演算法帶我來左呢度!?12:40聽到Jayden講重新起飛
😂我果時得16歲
Awesome! Much prefer this and Virgin's 787 over any Cathay 777.
Yeah nothing beats the A380 HAHA
In the future, yes.
I am HongKong :) I saw Sky 100 and the building which i live in
Thanks for watching! Yeah if it was lower it would be like the view on CX8747!
Yeah I miss Cx's 747
Wow!😆 Wasn't that a sonic boom or Pressure punch encountered by the A380 at 22:19!
What ever the pressure differential distance was, it shook the camera an plane conciderably an sounded awesome!.😆⛅✈💨 💨💨➖.
I've just watched back and I love the punch XD It's quite addictive as well!
Thanks for watching :D
One World Flyer Ya that sound at 22:19 could of been that the aircraft had punched through a pressure differential or a wall of hot maybe cold air in the atmosphere orjust a product of the aircraft in the process of changing its configuration for landing!
Aircraft make alot of wierd sounds wile moving through the atmosphere an changing profile configuration for landing or takeoff!! Never the less, the sound an vibration was quit awsome!!..
😆⛅✈💨💨 ➖. Oh! An I forgot to mention that you made a wonderful recording of this flight- Well done an thank you! Best of luck in future recordings..😊😆😎.
Sorry for the late reply, thank you so much for your lovely comment, I truly appreciate it :D But still 22:19 makes my day haha
One World Flyer Noo probz over reply- Its all good!😊, Affter watching over an over the video, I've come to the conclusion that perhaps the sound is caused due to the wings being reconfigured an the landing gear being deployed, but my other Conciderations are valid also!! I enjoyed your video an you filmed it so well, Cheers.
😊😉👍😎⛅☁✈💨 💨💨➖.
On the A380 this is a very common sound on approach to landing and I've always thought it's either landing gear being extended or the wing flaps going down. Last flight I took, earlier this month, I saw the flaps extending after that vibration.
Damn that's so quiet
It is very quiet so that you can sleep well :D Thanks for watching!
What is streaming out of engine (or whereever else) at 14:21?
It is contrail, it happens a lot when it is humid :D
Thanks for watching!
Calm voice from the captain, some time after reaching for the sky again! I wonder how much extra fuel that took and how much spare fuel was left?
Yeah, I thought he wouldn't even make an announcement haha.
I have no idea how much the extra fuel it took and much spare fuel was left, but I guess they have considered that go-around condition in London, so there should be a safe amount left.
Airplane 4; the nightmare returns - A380 landing Hong Kong - wind sheer - no fuel left for sixth attempted touch down; 'Dear passengers; this is your Captain speaking. I hope you can swim as well as I can.'
One World Flyer
I don't claim to know what I'm talking about,
but at the absolute minimum your flight carried enough fuel to get safely to the close suitable (ie they can handle this beast) airport at cruise power, after that they need at least 30 minutes of fuel for messing about at the new airport. So rest a assured, probably still enough fuel in her when you landed to power Norway for a few days!
compression ignition
There is certain amount of fuel required by regulation to be in reserve for all commercial aircraft.....to cater for go arounds, diversions and time in holding patterns.....all things which cannot be forseen when the aircraft departs.
I can see my home in the video,I live in Tsing yi😀!
Also,I don't know why British airways always has go-around!I think maybe their company policy is very strict.Once the aircraft is not facing the middle of the runway, then may have go-around
It's always awesome to be able to see our home on a plane. I used to live in Fo Tan and I could always see my home, but now I live in Yuen Long and no way I can see my home haha
Yeah I'm aware of that, I always see people post a BA going around in HKG on facebook!
Do you know why it was? Great vid :)
It was due to wind-shear, thanks for watching :))
Why? The approach looked normal enough. From all indications, seemed like the plane was set for a nice smooth landing the first time around!
It was wind shear :)
It was indeed smooth, that was so unexpected!
Thank you for watching :D
nice but no 4K? holy moly.
Old video from 2016, sorry :(
it was an over speed heavy landing
it did look overspeed a bit tbh
clearly spotted old kai tak and disneyland on finals
Yep old Kai Tak (very clearly) and then Disneyland if you've got sharp eyes. Thank you so much for watching :D
@@JaydenWong Never been to HK, but would like to...nearest so far is Singapore...i've heard HK has a very similar climate...I have my own YT channel, have some videos on there from my last trip to Singapore
I'm curious, did the flight crew give any indication as to the reason for the go-around?? My experiences @HKG suggest he touched down too far down the runway, at least that's what appears to be the issue the way the vid looks. Did u hear anything to the contrary?? Thx...Nate- Pittsburgh, PA
+Nathan Huffman Thank you for watching! According to the pilot announcement at 18:20 it was due to wind-shear :)
One World Flyer oh, I must have missed that. Thx 4 the reply.
Announcement from cabin crew immediately after aborted landing should have happened before Capt explaining later
16:20 is Shenzhen ,mainland of China
How full was the flight?
Not sure about the other cabins but business was completely full. I assume others were full too as LHR-HKG is a high demand route. Thanks for watching!
32:38 How Covid in Hong Kong started.
I thought this was a touch and go at first
haha it almost was :)
Ayyy I saw my home from above :D
+Leeaf Wow that's cool! I live to Yuen Long so I couldn't 😭 Thanks for watching!
Leeaf i
A Dc 10 crashed because of this wind many years ago, didn't it?
Yep, Iberia IB933
Yeah there’s about 69 ads. Come on man
why did he go around please ?
Thanks for watching David! It was due to wind shear, you can listen to the captain's announcement at 18:20
land at 31:00. 31:28 classed as near miss. twice lucky
Yes it did touch down further than usual! Thanks for watching :D
say mate what was the plane's registration , tailcode curious minds want to know
Sorry I forgot :(
It's cool I rode on the very 1st BA A380 G-XLEA it was very smooth and quiet flight, your video shows what a great plane it is. Cheers
Video maker should be sit at some other window for clear view
A380 can be tricky especially upstairs haha. I was in business so didn't have many options. thanks for watching!!
Your camera/phone smashing on the window
edit: during landing
20:40 old Kai Tak airport. whats left of it anyway
Thanks for watching! I believe the old terminal area will become a whole lot of apartments. Also, a new underground station :)
07:24 is Kai Tak as well, I believe.
You imagine what if the A380 goes to Kai Tak airport?
oh yes please 😍
@@JaydenWong although, whats that vibrating sounds on 22:19?
This is totally ridiculous. Eight or more commercial breaks in a 38-minute video clip.
This really stinks to the heavens. You greedy pieces of shit!!!
What’s next? Make us pay with our credit cards to see it commercial free?
By the way, video itself was great.
Thanks for watching and for your feedback :D
@@JaydenWong you are very polite about that and I think that this is very nice from you...
Bad crosswind?
It was wind shear, an interesting experience :D
Hong Kong air line
飞机在着陆前是否要把油料都消耗掉?(Aircraft fuel before landing whether or not to have consumed?)
No, because some fuel is needed in case of a go around or divert situation.
Thank you for watching :D
Thank you!
Daniele Joseph what did you say?
