Hello. Thank you for the videos. They are so helpful! Do you think it will fit even babies older than 12 months ? On the Ergo site the recommended age is 0 - 3 but I am not sure it will provide the same leg support to ensure the M position for 12+ babies. Thank you

Thanks for your question. So - rather confusingly - the age/weight ranges on all carriers are the ranges they're safety tested from/to. This will always give an overly optimistic length of time that a carrier can be used for.
Generally the Aerloom works best for the first 18 months to 2 years. As baby's legs grow longer, holding them with their bottom lower than knees before bringing the panel up will create a deeper, wider seat.
The lower the bottom is, the wider the seat will be (as it's effectively a triangle shape). Even when the panel isn't fully into your little ones' knees they can still be supported with bottom lower than knees.
M-position isn't a safety issue - it's more about comfort for you and baby, plus optimal positioning for hips. Once baby is mobile (crawling/walking) the M-position is far less important.
The key safety info for a baby with trunk and head control are:
      1) Held securely.
      2) Top edge of panel no lower than armpits, no higher than nape of neck.
      Hope that helps!

@@SouthEastSlings Thank you so much for your answer. Brought much clarity. I asked because this is how my baby looks in a different carrier that can be also used up to 16 kg and I was thinking to buy the toddler version of a carrier but I absolutely love the Aerloom

@@elenap.1750 Happy to let you know how long your carrier tends to last - just let me know the brand and model. Bear in mind that the majority of toddler carriers don't usually fit until 2+ years (some don't fit until later). It's really important not to size up too early. So - if it's between two carriers - one that's a bit small and one that's too big - always go for the one that's a bit small. Providing it's at least to baby's armpits and tightened securely they are safe. But you don't want to over-extend the legs, or have the carrier higher than the nape of their neck (which is what happens if you size-up too soon)

@@SouthEastSlings Unfortunately I am not able to upload pictures. The carrier is joie savvy 4 in 1. I returned it as it looked small. My son is 10 months old, weighs about 24 lb (11 kg), 76 cm height. He has a growing curve above average. He gains around 1 kg per month 🙈. Not so much in height - around 1 cm per month. I am so in love with the Aerloom but I would also like a carrier that I could use until toddler size. In order to size up I took into consideration the Tula and Lenny Lamb models as I think they provide a good lumbar support. The lumbar support is very important to me, a standard belt with no reinforcement in the back side will not do the job no matter how wide it is in front. Thank you once again for your time and kindness!❤

@@elenap.1750 So the Joie Savvy is likely to work best for the first 12-18 months. So it will still fit nicely but probably not something you'd buy new for a 10 month old.
The Tula Toddler tends to fit from 2-2.5 years upwards. It's huge! In 12 years I've only had one person with a 12 month old big enough to fit it. So it's very likely it'll be too big for your little one for a year or so.
Remember, the Tula Lumbar support can be fitted to any carrier. So don't let the lumbar support (or lack of) be too much of a deal breaker as you can add it after.
Generally straps that are crossable are more supportive than straight straps, as baby gets bigger. Also bear in mind that more padding doesn't always equal more support. Many people find a less structured carrier such as the Mamaruga Zebulo or Kahubaby more comfortable than something with lots of padding.
Finding the right carrier for you really is about what fits you best and what you find comfortable and easy to use. If you can get along to your local sling library you can try lots of options out to see what you like best. You can also hire them, to give them a decent trial run before committing.
If you don't have one locally to you, I offer postal hires, but if you can try a few options out first that's the ideal.
A few to look at are:
      Lenny Lamb UpGrade
      Kavka Multi-Age Carrier
      Mamaruga Zebulo
These are all very adjustable in width as well as height so will properly grow with your little one
Ergobaby Omni 360 or Omni Breeze
      Kahubaby
Tula Explore (this has straight straps, rather than the option to cross them, but if you prefer straps straight it's worth considering)
The Beco Carrier is also ideal at this age as it's an 'in between' size that fits from around 9 months without insert. This was discontinued a while ago but some places (myself included) do still have stock. You can see my video demoing it here: ruclips.net/video/wOOSrZvZ6Kk/видео.html Watch from 6 mins 50 secs to see it with a larger baby
      Hope that helps!
