    You almost exactly described my feelings around being the oldest girl/child! I only have two younger siblings but i feel the exact same way! "They are not gonna look up to me anymore if i'm not perfect."
    And admitting my flaws is really hard to me, it doesn't come naturally to me as well. You started working on that when you were around 18/19, next week i will turn 18 so i think i will start working on that as well from now on.

    this is so interesting to watch. i'm the oldest of four siblings and had a completely different experience being the oldest daughter/sibling. i too practically had to raise my siblings at times, and now during quarantine, i have to homeschool them on top of doing my own schoolwork. what's interesting to me is that you liked it. i don't understand how people are okay with having to do the parenting when your parents are around. I've had to go through a lot of therapy to get over the stress of having to constantly look after younger siblings on top of having to focus on school etc. obviously everyone's different so you're experience is very interesting to me.

      I'm with you on this, I don't think any kid should have to raise their siblings, kids are kids! Babysitting occasionally, yes, but having all the responsibilities... Of course when there's so many kids, it's overwhelming for the parents... Which is why I don't want a third kid! 2 is absolutely enough, I can't handle more ;^^
      I'm glad for her that it was a calling for her, and I'm sorry it was difficult for you! As an older sister of 3 brothers, I wouldn't have enjoy being their 2nd mom :/ I wish you the best on your future!

    I’m at the opposite, i’m the youngest but i’m a weird youngest. My brothers and sister are not from the same parents and are from 10 to 18 years older than me (even if they are not my real 100% brothers and sister i lived all my life with them so for me it still is). I’ve always been down there alone, being « the kid » immature and knowing nothing. At one point i was too used to be around 10+ years older than me that i found people my age boring and completely illogic/immature. I never got a lot of friends... often i prefered to play things with my family more than my friends anyway. Now i got a bunch of nephews and i’m the only one who doesn’t know how to act with children cause everybody got a practice with me but me i never knew what it was like.
    I like when there’s people in the house even if i’m not that social and what’s fun is that we still are a close family and everyone is coming over to eat like all the time so i’m not thaaat alone even if i’m the only one to still live at our parents house and not really having a life.

    @Anastasia-fj2zi 4 года назад

    I'm the oldest sibling but I only have one younger brother. However, I have a lot of younger kids at my church who feel like younger siblings, and a TON of younger cousins. I could totally relate to everything you said about being the first to go through life experiences, and about being a perfectionist/ perfect role model. I've always taken the highest level classes, gotten great grades, not sworn, and taken many extracurriculars to make sure I'm the best role model possible. For me, high school was the first time that I could look up to somebody older than me. I'm in my school's band, and when I was a Freshman/sophomore, I was able to look up to the upperclassmen who already knew how high school worked and were so much more experienced. It was such a cool feeling, especially when a couple of them took me under their wings and showed me the ropes of how to survive high school. Now they're graduating, and I'm going to be an upperclassman next year. Now that I know how being a Freshman feels, my goal is to be that role model that the upperclassmen were for me, and that I've always been for my brother, cousins, and younger friends.
    It feels great having someone to relate to, so thank you Christina!! Just felt like sharing so yeah, have a great day!!!

    I’m watching this as the youngest of the family to understand how my oldest sister might have felt. I’ve always admired her but I’ve only recently started to think about how it could’ve also been a burden for her and I’ve never talked to her about it.

    I am late but GREAT message at the end. I recently left a job because of a boss who was being like that. In fact, about 10 people have left because of it before I did. They thought they were untouchable and they could do whatever they want because they were in charge.

    I have only a one younger sister but I also feel this responsibility, I try not to do something that I would not want her to do. Doing everything for the first time is hard, but thanks to that I learned to find a solution in many situations without anyone's help.
    Being the oldest is hard but great 💗

    As the oldest of my family (cousins included), I definitely felt a lot of pressure to be successful and know where I was going in life. But I think that it also backfired on my brothers, who took a long time to figure out what to do with their life, and still figuring things out in their late 20s... My younger brother has made so many questionable choices in his life, it was frustrating to me and still is to be honest, because my parents counted a lot on me to be the voice of reason, hoping it would be more effective coming from me than from them. At the end of the day, I had to learn that everybody is living their own life and have their own journey, and to spend my energy on my own.
    I think it's great you were passionate about taking care of them and teaching them. I was not that kind of sister, but maybe things would have been different with sisters haha! Caring for others is definitely something I try to teach my daughters now as much as possible, so hopefully, it will help them growing up being kind and compassionate adults, because that's what our world needs the most!

    Wow, this was such an insightful video. Thank you so much for your transparency about your growth as a leader, sibling, and person. I am having problems with our pastor who is a similar personality as you and it helps me see things from his perspective and have compassion for him during a really hard time like the coronavirus.

    I’ve always wondered what it would be like because I have 1 younger sibling and most of my friends say that it is horrible but some say that it is great to have multiple younger siblings! I’m so excited to watch this!

      I've had SO many people tell me that it's horrible to have more than 2 siblings. I got the "you actually get along? with your sisters/brothers?" question a lot. Let me just say that I am living proof that you can have great relationships with your family! I give all the credit to God and my parents for raising us the way they did.

    I have only 1 older brother. But I understand most of this because my parents forced me to be in role of the oldest anyway. I had to be the perfect one, the role model, the responsible one, the one doing the chores, the smart one and the DECENT one. My brother got to do anything he wanted. So much that I actually feel like the oldest and I see my brother (almost 4 years older) as my little brother. When he left the house I found out that he actually looks up to me. He literally listens to me and not our parents.
