I interpret this as "you" being depression, and the gray nest 10 feet up is literally clouds but figuratively heaven/Nirvana/the afterlife, meaning the person succumbed to suicide. It seems the singer expects this transition to lead them to their eternal 5AM, dawn, a new beginning, a quiet and peaceful time- the serenity of heaven by whatever name. But perhaps it is not. At the end, perhaps it is the devil that they see (the "you" of this new phase of existence) because commonly religion persecutes those who take their own lives. Additionally crows are symbols of misfortune and death. I love how this song makes you think about what it is saying.

I was looking at old google slides I shared w friends I had at the time and I saw this song being mentioned so I came back to it. The memories were really bittersweet. One of the friends I left because they had too many mental problems that were triggering me, my partner ran away from their house and we lost contact, and the other was a toxic bsf I still have today. It was nice looking at the unfinished conversations that were typed out on the slides, art, ocs we shared, memes, ect. I don't blame my siblings for leaving and I'm glad they got out, even if it meant leaving me for two or three years. They were able to help me once they helped themselves, and I couldn't have left without their help. They've also been really important to my recovery and we are a really close family now when living with my dad rather than my mother.
