The ColorOS shift did it for me. No more OnePlus no matter how good of a hardware they provide. OxygenOS was the differentiating factor for OnePlus and Oppo.
Yep, same here.
Yes,same here
yeah.
Absolutely
Oxygen OS was going to change regardless because all it was stock like Android with a few added features. Android 12 and 13 are nothing like 11. Get over it.
Marques always gets the tiny details spot on. The runtime of this video is 11:00!
The like you got says a lot about the effort he put, to get this video to get that exact 11 😅
11:11 would be too good
Who else did at first not see the "2 extra seconds" text?
It would be awesome if there was actual discussion of the video topic going on. Instead it’s half full of people sucking off Marques.

Unpopular opinion but wireless charging really isn't that big of a deal
I never understood the obsession for it when it is usually so much slower and damages battery more.
Only seems to be an issue when people have bought majorly into the wireless charging ecosystem. They don't want their tech to go to waste. I mean, 100w/80w charging on this phone, who cares about wireless charging at 20w or whatever?

Agreee
Exactly
I still use one of their 7 series phones, the 7T. The symmetrically placed circular camera bump made it stand out, and still does today. Didn't really like the ColorOS shift but I have got used to it. Overall, a phone from 2019 still works well in 2023 with minimal to no issues, kudos to the OP of that time.
Same bro typing from same 7t bought on early 2020
Couldn't agree more, after 4 years I'm looking for a replacement and seems like it remains one of the best phones to this day.
After 7T, oneplus stopped making good phns. all phn feels like dummy or something, worst cameras, worst Os, They also stopped installing aleart slidder for a while and i m just waiting to make good oneplus phones again..😅
7T is running on oxygenOS 12.1
@@dragnar4743 bruh its basically color os. It's bad compared to oxygen OS 11
The stuff you pointed out about the UI are some things that you notice if you really use the phone. I know cuz color os, realme UI or oxygen OS whatever you want to call it is all I have used since last 8 years. That's so nice to see that a reviewer actually using a phone from the perspective of an actual user and not just for the sake of reviewing it. Keep it up Marques.
It’s funny because that’s kind of how I feel about all of iOS. All those little extra taps really add up.
Spot on
I use colorOS as well but I don't get bothered by the way you need to expand or swipe away the notifications, I got used to that pretty quick.
The multiple swipes tho is really annoying especially so when there are a lot of notifications
I didn't even know these were issues lmao
But this is probably because I've never used stock Android 13
I can see how this would be annoying if you're coming from stock
@@rinkerbel_ yeah same here. You do get used to the UI fairly easily. But yeah those extra swipes in notifications are a bit to much.
the OnePlus 7 Pro was almost perfect...the popup selfie camera was sick
I got it and id never change my phoneee , still seamless
I had it for three years and handed it down to my gf after, she is still using it. One of the best phones ever made.
I'm in my third year with a 7t and it still works perfectly 👍🏻
Still rocking it
mine is still going strong after being runover by a bike
I really like the notification swipe thing actually, seems like something from MI UI where I could swipe slowly to toggle on/off for a specific type of notification! It was very handy to not get some type of notifications from an app. Except I'm pretty sure that I could quickly swipe away in any direction to dismiss, unlike here.
I've had OnePlus phones for years now. I understand there has to be some balance or trade off to be a flagship killer when it comes to hardware or licensed functionality. What I dont get is why OnePlus apply that same approach to their *own* OS. It's always like "well now we've added these things, but at the same time we took away some other things that you really liked" ... Always only small things, but like Marcus says, they start to add up. It's now at a point where although it'll be a while before I upgrade, I already know I wont be going for a OnePlus for my next phone.
I've been with the 7Pro since September '19, had the glass panels repaired a couple of times and still mostly works like a charm! But I'm waiting for that release where they reach the same level of all-round integrity matching what the 7Pro was back then. Hopefully the 12 pulls through!!!
Same, been waiting for that one special feature to make the upgrade worth it. It really speaks to how good the 7Pro was/is that 3 1/2 years later I haven't been tempted to upgrade
same
Get a nothing phone 2.
I also still use the 7 pro and have loved it. Recently broke the screen and replaced it myself as well as the back panel. Genuinely pleased with it, Ive had a couple iphones in the past that had the crappiest battery life and performance known to man. Ive owned this phone nearly 4 years and its still feels new.
I don't even have the pro, normal OnePlus 7 and I'm probably not changing ever
Until a great phone with a great deal comes out or my phone stops working
I am appreciating the intro animation more and more especially after I saw how it came to be in the studio channel.
Exactly this!
SAME! The entire thought process the guys at the studio went through to make it happen just makes me notice and like it more.
@@Anonymous6969_ I think you replied to the wrong comment lol
@@kanjakan yes, my bad. Thanks for informing..
I'm still running my 6t, it's only been this year that I've noticed that is started to slow down and battery is getting worse. It's still fine for now but I am looking to upgrade. I was happy to see them coming back to their roots, but to be honest I don't think I can go from OxygenOS to ColorOS. Price and specs are one thing, but how you interact with the device is probably the most important thing and getting a new phone that is going to frustrate you because you had it better on a phone from 2018.
As of yesterday, they have fixed most of the bugs/quirks, including a few big ones that werent mentioned in the video. The only ones left are the two taps to go to Spotify and the swipe to expand group notifications. Oh and actually you can still swipe in only one direction, but after the first week of using the phone, ive literally never accidentally swiped the other way, it becomes muscle memory, so not an issue
Have they fixed that Yet?
Why is my 8pro's battery all of a sudden draining like crazy???!!! Like no joke, if I watch RUclips for like 2hrs my phone is dead. When I first had it , it would last for hours if I was watching HD Netflix. I don't get it , it literally drains like a timer on a clock.
@d.almeida3633 Yeah bro lithium batteries degrade eventually, your phone is old enough to have a poor capacity compared with new, also some habits like letting the phone reach 0 and turnoff makes it even worse

The 7 Pro is amazing, I bought mine shortly after launch, in April 2019 I think, and it's still going strong. My brother has the same and we just replaced his battery because he also wants to keep it around for as long as possible.
I'm on my third 7 Pro. Going to buy another as a backup
@@ChrisG1392 good phone but sadly a shit battery ..i had the op 7t pro mclaren

i also have op7pro since launch day! Still going strong, yeah the battery is getting old, mine is at 78% health condition so i should replace it soon. Best phone and its still unmatched in my opinion. Only oppo find n is better but crazy expensive. Hey, can you tell me where did you replaced battery? Through one plus tech support or elsewhere?
Ah I feel those notification peeves. Just little things like that which have a simple fix, but if oneplus listens and improves they could be trending back to a good direction. For now I'm still probably going with a more recent flagship that came out.
I have the exact same gripes about notifications on my OnePlus 9 Pro. Nice catch! 👍🏼
@@ThatGuyWalter Same on my 9 Pro but now i'm kinda used to it
Same here with a OP9 Pro. At least Oxygen OS 13 is way better than 12.
Something I think is underrated when talking about smartphone cameras is integration. My OnePlus 8 Pro takes some fantastic photos especially with the pixel camera app I installed to use Google's processing, but sharing those photos or using built in app viewfinders like Snapchat is another story. Most of my photos don't even show up in WhatsApp for some reason leasing me to share via the gallery which is incredibly frustrating
Yep I'm having the exact same issue here , your comment is 100% accurate!
I also remembered the pop up front cam they had. That needs to be brought back ASAP. You get a seamless full screen display without hurting the quality of front camera

Any specific reason you switched? I'm looking at getting a 7 pro as they're quite cheap now so wondering how well it aged.
@@CyanAnn mine unfortunately in the third year stopped working and I couldn’t take photos anymore. The camera app completely died on me, which sucked because I got the phone for the great pictures! The iPhone is doing great still
0:23 Agreed, the Oneplus 7 Pro is indeed their high mark. Mine is on the latest Android 13 and will be going strong years from now thanks to Lineage OS.
I still use my 7pro to play some mobile games on or watch videos when I'm at home even if it's not my daily device anymore. The lack of a notch or camera hole punch I think is still really awesome. Even the pop up camera still works after all these years.
He didn’t go over competition that much, is this phone better than an iPhone 13? Apple has them for $699 and I’m sure you could get ahold of a 13 pro/pro max for the same price from somewhere outside of apple

I have got a 100 watt charging brick out of the box and I love it's 25 minutes full charge , very handy I used my friends s22 ultra it was bulky especially with a cover on it and it costs 40 percent more than the OP 11 . Haptics are awesome and OP11 is very handy like I said and I can type type and type seamlessly on it like I am doing right now very smooth haptics loved them . By the way I was using s21 fe 5g earlier and had to buy a charger and on top of that it used to take one hour 20 minutes to full charge but with OP11 it has changed the way I used to wait for my phone to get charge 100 pct 25 minutes God how did they do it .
OnePlus 6T still going strong, truly love that phone. I hope they come back to themselves with this one and the next.
I'm still using mine so far so good
mine 6t lagging now, thinking changing to Xiaomi 13 Pro

I got the 6t still going and picked up a 10t for xmas, don't let anyone fool you the 10t is still the fastest charging and the best battery phone u can get in any phone in the US market, plus its brighter that then the S23's. i work at a cell phone store i tested everything out already. i absolutely love my 10t so far.
My 6 was super laggy. I upgraded to 9rt a year ago. Happy with it at the moment.
I want to know what you cut out to make this exactly 11 minutes long lol (or added)
The 2 seconds at the end 🤓
@SuperSaf, seems like you missed the last frame there, Chief.
Lack of wireless charging and some really annoying software choices (including the notification ones Marques pointed out) are probably gonna be what pushes me to another phone. I think it def is still a flagship killer but having the OnePlus9 Pro w/wireless charging and seeing the same software issues on the 11 is seems pretty might. Hopefully they figure things out...
I've had wireless charging and I'd pick warp charging any day. Nothing like having your phone be at 5% and having to leave the house in 10 minutes, and being able to leave with a phone at 60-80%. I don't even have the 11 yet, I'm on the OnePlus 8T, and apparently the new warp charging is even faster than what I'm used to to
When you can add 15% charge in under 5 mins who cares about wireless (energy-waster) charging? I know I don't ...
I've come to you for all my phone info. If I'm curious about a phone, I come here and see what you gotta say. You're so honest, informative and thorough. It's very much appreciated! 💕
I was really interested to see what you thought about the 2x telephoto camera. While every other phone uses a smaller sensor for the telephoto sensor, the specs appear to show that the telephoto is the same size at 1/1.56. This would be ideal for portrait photos of people. Is that the case? Obviously a 2x lens isn't great for long distance zoom but I was most excited for this phone having a secondary sensor that was the same size as the primary.
I LOVED my OP7Pro until Android 12. Now there are so many quirks that I can't change that drive me crazy. Like swiping to clear notifications, like the unlock app gestures that they changed, and so much more. The UI feels substantially more cumbersome now
yea really buggy upgrade. I'm going for the nothing phone 2, if my 7T Pro isn't tolerable anymore. But for now it's still rocking it honestly
i've been holding off on the update and i think i will until my phone dies. just worried about security issues

Great review, I specially liked that you pointed out the annoying software flaws - which to me is one of the most important parts and the reason why I want to go back to oneplus after mistakenly going to iphone about 1 year ago.
2:07 IP67 does not mean it can handle a splash. The second number of the ingress protection (IP) are separate certifications from one another. 7 just means it can be submerged up to 1m in depth. 4 means it can survive splashes. For additional protections, it has to be separately listed.

3. No IP rating or wireless charging
4. Lowest battery than IQOO and among all Chinese brands due to bad hardware and specs

OP7Pro user here that is just starting to consider an upgrade. I have loved the phone, got the 12gb Ram version to be able to hold onto it for a long time and that has worked a treat. What hasn't though are the software updates. They are slow in that I just got Android 12 last month. I was stoked to finally get an OS update that felt like it was going to be mean something but no, Android 12 has instead killed many aspects of this phone to where I am looking to upgrade away from it where I wasn't previously. The OP11 is moderately interesting but those software annoyances and their update track record that I have experienced has thrown me well off the OnePlus track and am probably just going to get a Pixel 7/pro.
Had a OP7 Pro and got the Pixel 7 last month, if it's software you're after you won't be disappointed. I miss the cooler display and alert slider a lot though.
One Plus 7T user here. They pushed the android 12 update so late almost after the release of 13. Also to mention it had some kind of bug which removed the widevine L1 certification from my OP 7Tand now I can't stream anything on Netflix and Prime Video in HD. I was always mad about late and buggy software update but that one just made it sure that i never buy anything from this company again. Not to mention the December security patch was last update for 7 series which is worse for us 7T users here because we barely got 3 years of software support that too filled with bugs if we consider the Android 11 and Android 12 upgrades.
@@pritambarman3109 That streaming bug is weird. I don't watch those service from my phone so not sure if it did that to mine. I do now have a bug where calls from specific people just don't connect. One of those people being my wife and one being my boss... So that is fun. Kinda breaks the usefulness as a phone.
That Dec security update was the last for all 7 series? That sucks... I was wondering what the last one would be and I guess I have my answer. Guess I really am looking for a new phone now.
Almost exactly the same situation here. I'm also using a 7 Pro and I have been really happy with it but feel like it is time to upgrade now. I really miss wireless charging so that is pretty annoying that they don't have that. I think that counts this phone out for me. Pixel 7 is what I am considering as well.
Tbh if they did not Upgrade the OP7Pro to Android 12 and then almost immediatly canceled support for the Phone I would have mby still trusted them as a Company, but as it stands I would trust XiaoMi more then OP rn even if I never used XiaoMi before
I agree with the negatives regarding software. Just to note, you can close your notification drawer without scrolling all the way to the bottom but instead of swiping up like all other Android phones, you have to tap the little bar between the notification drawer and brightness slider. I prefer the swipe up though for sure.
OMG! they really listened to your feedback and modified it in the recent update thanks man.
They really did it.
I wish they would bring back the motorized front facing camera... that was such a cool feature on the One+7, is there gonna be a Pro Model for the One+11?
No, it's just going to be the normal OnePlus 11, without the Pro variant.
And funny too
i didn't like that cam, and over time the motor got louder and louder. i also don't know how many years that thing will last, let alone the entire glass covering on that phone. still loved it tho haha

@DontReadMyProfilePicture.6 Fine, I won't
Marques your critiques of the notification drawer and software towards the end of the video is absolutely spot on. I've been a one plus user for the past 4 years and I've loved the phones and the Oxygen OS software, but these little annoying things like what you mentioned about the notification drawer are beginning to annoy me to the point where I don't think I would upgrade to another OnePlus phone until they fix these things. Great review and attention to detail, thanks 👍🏻
100% agree. Also, in the app drawer, it used to be super easy to click on a letter to get to apps that start with that letter. Now, it takes me two or three tries to get that function to work. And they removed the excellent haptics in the app drawer too. Not to mention that launching OnePlus shelf by swiping down from the corner is on by default.
I completely agree with you. This behavior of notifications is an absolute deal-breaker for me. Oneplus implemented the same in their Android 12 update for the 7 series, which made me go custom ROM. Are we sure though, that it's not the Chinese ColorOS version that has been reviewed, and that it might be different in OOS for the rest of the world?

This review is "the feedback" OnePlus needs. Yes, micro refinements DOES matter for a great end User Experience.
OnePlus back at it's peak was a combination of Great h/w and s/w. Now, as they've put more efforts improving the cameras, they're falling short on the great s/w side.. when this improves, they will be at greater peak than ever.
Surely it will take sometime, but I believe, if by fixing the s/w and without cutting any corners (as Marques pointed out in the video) they can launch at $769, people would welcome.
It's not about the money
@@MayoneRajan If they include wireless charging and work on UI/UX, they'll surely increase the price. As it may not be perfect at first, I was giving a reference that if they manage to keep it below $799, people will love it.

Watching this one my 1+ 6. It's over five years old and it's still going strong. I don't need much from a phone so this phone is more than enough for me. I'll switch it once I can't upgrade my apps anymore.
Still using the OnePlus 7 which was kind of the same phone as 6T. I feel the best camera experience in that worth was 1+7. I've never had such worthy photo experience at that price band with any other phone. Unfortunately, I just updated it to their latest OS which promised better battery performance but they missed the disclaimer that your experience will go for a toss. Terrible gaps in very basic functionality experiences which often leaves me annoyed. I'm just not feeling confident to move to a new OnePlus mobile as it hasn't sounded worthy enough. Maybe the 1+11 sounds a bit of redemption because for me camera is an integral part of OnePlus proposition. I hope the software issues are addressed with basic UX improvements. The wireless charging isn't really a deal breaker for me esp with fast charging and 5k mAh battery
Nothing Phone is the new OnePlus. OnePlus lost their way when they were invaded by Oppo and tried to merge OxygenOS into ColorOS, and apparently that's a failure here. I bought the 1+6T because i didn't want to learn all the strange google gestures and the phone let me use the old gestures which I still love.

I like the swipe left thing because you could go into settings and alter it and most people swipe right to clear the notifications anyway... Places because older Android phones only allowed you to swipe right to clear.
Exactly, you can disable notifications for the apps you don't want to get notified easily instead of going into setting to disable them

Yeah you're right that software things that you're talking about is really annoying I always end up swiping left to get rid of notifications when I use my right hand and it always goes to the stupid settings icon and it doesn't get rid of it I have to swipe to the right that gets on my nerves. Also there's no point in do not disturb mode when I still have icon showing up on the lock screen.
I got a Oneplus 8 Pro shortly after it was released. My favorite part about it is its screen and I received comments from other people saying that it looked amazing as well. I've been hesitant to change phone because I'm from the few people that love the waterfall edge and I think that recently Oneplus has been one of the few brands that keep doing it. I'll wait for a few more reviews and think if I should upgrade. No wireless charging is a bummer, though.
I genuinely don't understand why people use wireless. What's the point ? It would be 5x as slow than wired on this phone and use more power to charge. It takes one extra second to plug it in, but charges 5x as fast... I don't get it
@@bobclack3256 Same opinion. It's taking space and cost, for a fonctionnality that already exist. It isn't efficient, a lot of energy is just wasted,to finally charge the phone slowly compared to cable charging... Not to add that you can't use your phone while it charge unless you take the whole plate with you.
@@bobclack3256 it's because of that extra second yes. It matters especially in the car when you just put the phone on the pad and it connects to the car and starts charging. It's much more annoying to use the cable for every 10 minute drive
I use Oneplus 8 Pro and in my opinion the only modern phone with the same characteristics is Pixel 7 Pro. Oneplus is obviously not a flagship killer anymore. I might just keep using my 8 Pro for a few years because Pixel 7 Pro is not really that much better to justify the upgrade cost.
@@bobclack3256 imo wireless charging has to be fast so it can be a feature and not a gimmick. With my OP8 Pro it's 30 watts, same as wired charging. Obviously it's slightly slower but it charges faster than several wired only phones. Although, I would never consider it if you're going to give me only 15 watts.
Gotta say I'm really enjoying the Nothing Phone (1) via the US Beta - $350 and I can confirm it works with US AT&T on at least some 5g bands. Performs well for me. Just know you need a software update on the Nothing (it is a Beta) to get it working on US AT&T. Took a day or two to get the update for me, so I used an old phone during that time.
Anyway, I'm thinking One Plus might be trying to put up more a fight with the Nothing Phone (1) history.
With the latest A.10 build macro has gotten much better with its minimum distance. It still isn't great at detecting when you're close though..
Interesting to see OnePlus turning things back around a bit.
I have the OP9, I got it for a good price at the time, but It's been a couple of years and I've started putting some thought in to what my next phone will be.
I've been leaning towards the Samsung lineup, but it's great that OnePlus is still a potential contender.
What do you think about your current phone so far? I just got it for $200 new
samsung is 💩
I've had the OP7pro since 2019 and I've taken care of it and it still functions extremely smoothly and has no glitches or latency. I've been thinking about getting a new phone too and the OP11 seems like a good option honestly
I've been using a OP 8T and it's rock solid. I'm not thinking of upgrading in a year or two for sure. Unless OnePlus puts a phone with a cool design something like OP9.
@@charlescarter6303 i wouldve considered op11 if they still had oxygenos. Im still using my mclaren 6t that i got in late 2018 and im considering switching to pixel now. the 6t is still a very solid phone with almost no issues other than battery. it blows my mind how good their 6 and 7 lineups were and here we are now.
I'm so happy you mentioned the UI issues you had with the new version of color OS! I have that on my OP 8 Pro and those small things drive me crazy, even if it's better than their Android 12 version... That version made me want to throw my phone away, buy a different one and never buy anything from OnePlus ever again. Android 13's version is much better but still has the issues you mentioned. Really hoping the upwards trend continues
As a fellow OnePlus 8 pro user, as soon as he started talking about notifications I knew exactly where he was going haha
OMG same
Trust me, I threw my 8 Pro away and got straight into an iPhone 12 Pro when ColorOS12 dropped 😂
No matter how good and the top of the line OnePlus will never be worth it to buy!!! Bad software = bad phone
@@Fresh.Travels as if you have actually driven ColorOS for a long time 😒
Very honest review and focused on little features that matter, Oxygen OS was neat and clean, Color OS is why I switched to Samsung.
I feel like my oneplus7 Pro does the same thing with the notifications that you had an issue with in the 11. I'm running Android12 with Nova7 Launcher, it's been so long since I've used the default oneplus launcher I wouldn't even know what was different.
Do you think I'd be disappointed with the 11 over my 7 Pro? I've held off upgrading this long as there seems to have always been gripes about the newer Gen oneplus devices that lament they're not as good as the older ones....
I just switched from the OnePlus 10 Pro to the Galaxy S22 Plus like 2 months ago most because of the software. I was happy with the display, the speakers, even with the camera (specially the main cameras), but having a OnePlus nowadays is just not the same as it used to.
Why does the OnePlus 11 only have 2x optical zoom?
Even the OnePlus 7 Pro had 3x years ago!
@@kwinzman because the 11 not a "Pro" phone. Marques did mention that and you are asking the same thing again
Preordered a s23 ultra through Fi but have the 9 pro at the moment and have had it for a while, it can be frustrating to use at times.
@@vishnuvijwani doesn't matter if it's pro or not
The price matters
Does it overheat?
It sounds like of a lot the issue could be easily fixed with a software update. It would be interesting to see if they do any follow up to this video and send out updates.
They wont
Watched this video on my 7 Pro! I just can't believe OnePlus didn't build from this phone in the phones they had after it. The pop up camera is sick. I love playing the game "where's my camera?" When people ask what kind of phone I have, the reactions are always funny lol
I just say I have a Mcclaren😂
Hey what's up. I'm thinking about buying the OnePlus 11. I just wanted to know if I can transfer all my apps and stuff to it from my Samsung z flip. Can I do that?
Personally, I would like to see the pop-up camera again. It was awesome having no camera cut-out, plus there's the "privacy benefit" for paranoids like me 😁
Absolutely! Going to use my 7T pro till it dies and get another one. Will upgrade when there is another phone with a popup camera or camera behind the screen.
I don't think it has any chance of coming back, but I did love it while we had it
it also had the added benefit of looking SUPER cool
I still use one plus 7 pro it's still smooth!!!!
Yeah, I think that was the golden age of selfie cameras. Hidden & quirky.
Small note, iOS has the same thing with media from from the control center and I noticed when I switched from my pixel that it is in fact a pain to have to double press it to return to now playing
Because Oppo acquired OnePlus and they want to make more profit by giving ads rather than stock os. I used all OnePlus till OnePlus 8. It has become so much worse after OnePlus 7...
Now they use the same ColorOS of Oppo and rename it as oxygenOS... Although Color OS is not that good, renamed origin OS is even bad than Oppo real OS.
Just notice that
ColorOs in Oppo phones is much better than OnePlus... Since Color OS is designed by Oppo.. it gives more refined and better experience in Oppo than OnePlus
It is time to choose Motorola, Nothing and Pixel for great OS. Time to ditch OnePlus now
OnePlus is same Chinese brand now.
I bet he didn 't complain about that reviewing an iphone with that "problem" , once an Apple fan always....
so ... switching obviously was a mistake!
Never change a winning team.
@@pvh3053 he was very tactful with his wording by comparing it to “other” Android phones so it was fine to me. If anything it just goes to show that copying iOS to try and draw in users isn’t the best UI design. Google developed vanilla android very well.
Damn iOS control center does sucks then 💀
In ColorOS 13 that's kinda easy tbh. What you need to do is, swipe down from the bottom edge to go into the one-handed mode and then just control the media. May sound like a bit of a hassle but it actually is as easy & fast as opening the lid of Airpods. Otherwise there's also the lock-screen gesture which lets you control your media playback from the lock screen. there's even the AOD control.
I've had OnePlus 8 pro for almost 3 years. It still works great. But I'm out of storage so I'm wondering if the 11 pro is good
im about ready to upgrade from my s21 plus. I was thinking about going with something like this but no wireless charging is going to bug me. I really like the s23 ultra, but that phone probably won't last long in my work environment with the curved display. I can just see myself dropping it, hopping off the ladder of the crain and hearing a cracking sound as it hits the ground 🫣
I have the same annoying SW behaviour on my 8T, definitely an OS thing. I believe that was around the Android 12 update. Good phone performance wise and still fast after 1.5 year of use and no reset but a couple little things that are hard to comprehend design wise (though I have to specify I have the bigger model with 256GB/12GB RAM).
At least now the FB Messenger bubbles aren't as broken as they were before that update!
Edit : as of today, it seems an update made the notifications much better, though they appear much bigger which is weird.
It's the whole reason I'm still on oos 11
@@lilkidsuave definitely not a bad decision it seems
This. And last oos13 update on OP8T broke navbar recents switching. Double tap recents should go to last app, instead it pots back the front app on the screen. It made quick switch between 1st and 2nd app impossible
@@zgagacz Oof. Still haven't gotten 13 yet, even as developer previews for 14 are out.
I just love the way you review a smartphone. Unlike other RUclipsrs who only speak about the main configs which we can see on the product’s website, you never disappoints in explaining even the minor details.
💡
Means you havent seen much youtube reviews.
@@Gamer-xb1eo okay
Check Mrwhosetheboss. His videos are the most interesting. They are friends as well. He is an Indian origin guy.
I still have my OP 7t and after 3 years it still can do everything. There are some problems though: battery isn't the greatest and sometimes the screen's refresh rate drops down to like 30-40 Hz and the phones needs to be restarted to go back to them beautiful 90 Hz. The software also has some problems every now and then (and yeah I also hate the notifications). But still, it does everything almost as quick as it was 3 years ago.
Also in Europe charging is 100w. Another thing that's important to know is that the 128gb ver uses old memory being ufs 3.1 and lpddr5 while the 255gb ver uses the new ufs 4 and lpddr5x
I went from OnePlus 7 Pro to Pixel 7 Pro. Its good to see OnePlus getting better again but software wise I might stay with the Pixel line for the future.
Same here.
Same upgrade here
Still rocking my One Plus 7 Pro but was planning on hopping to Pixel whenever it dies.
I went from the oneplus 7 pro, got the 8 pro, then the 9 but eventually switched to the pixel pro 7.
I switched from one plus 5 to pixel 7 pro..one plus is now another Chinese gimmick..not worth it
Great job! I have used OnePlus for the last 5 years, OxygenOS is for me the best overlay. No useless apps, no ads, no slowdowns due to heavy functionality. What I can only blame them for is the "slowness" of updates on older devices, but I'm quibbling. This year, I switched to the Samsung Galaxy S23+, wanting to change and see what a really good camera was. I must say that I'm quite amazed by the result, even if I think that I will miss OxygenOS in the long run. Long live OnePlus!
I am still with a 5 year old OnePlus 6. I just might go with this 11. I was contemplating the S23Ultra for a while.
@@KrishnenduKeswell it's like this would u rather spend $1200 or $700 ... I think the pricing of phones has gotten ridiculous I blame Apple for introducing their $1,000 phone ... I always bought my Galaxy phones on promos so I didn't it didn't seem as crazy but u know what is that after only 4yrs my phone is worth less than a 3rd it's price ...
@@xxkarlosxxxxxx7233 Pretty much agree. If I am spending those extra $500, would I make that extra money from the phone? That way, the choice is easy. I will take a photo with the OnePlus and with the S23Ultra and 99/100 times, people would not be able to tell the difference. Productivity would be the same.
@VoxiBe any particular reason y you didn't consider S23 Ultra, it got better camera and S pen, just wanted to know your thoughts. Also do share how is S23+ doing so far for you.
Color os is the same
They fixed the notification issue. Just got one last week. The update allows notifications to go away when you swipe either way
Great review! I'm still using my 5T! 6 years on, I do see some battery life issues but other than that, it works fine. Considering whether the OP11 is one to look out for...
Same for me :)
Still rocking the OnePlus 7 pro for over 3yrs now(yes the popup camera still works!). Funny that this doesn't have most of those annoying notification "features". Love this phone, but the battery is obviously starting to be too old. Might go with the op11 next. Its the same price as I bought this one. Amazing considering inflation during the last years
Annoying notification features?? Which one, that double swipe he spoke about?? or the Spotify toggle?
It's nice to see them going [back] in the right direction again.
uh. You can disable the notification problems. They show a huge pop-up asking if you want to use their notification app, like with their search app in the app drawer. If you say no you can disable theirs and just use the default Android notification management UI. Color OS really isn't that bad. It could definitely be more polished but otherwise it has some cool features that are genuinely useful.
I just migrated from Apple to android for the first time in years. So far i am loving with my oneplus so much. aside from No-wireless-charger i am happy with everything else. It is very simple to use. easy to customise to my liking and very fast with 16RAM. Omg! i am so in love with this phone. i used to use Samsung before, but i didn't like it that much. Although, i am keen to try the new Galaxy S23 Ultra. However, based on MKBHD review, i decided to go with oneplus phone and i am very excited to use it as my daily driver. It is is quite difficult to slowly depart from APPLE ecosystem but it is such an exciting journey to dip my toe in android OS again. The Oxygen OS is such a fantastic OS. I love this phone so much. I really want to swap my black colour with that new earthy tone colour. LOVE LOVE LOVE.
I am still using OP5T....still going strong...time to upgrade to 11...Thanks Marques 🙏
Go for Pixel benchod, OnePlus is dead with ColourOS
yo it's this guy
same 5t still alive
Hi Xavier, the price is a joke.
You see the duration of the video. Its perfectly 11 just like the OnePlus 11. I do really like these small details👆👆👌👌👍
Been using one plus pro since 2019 Dec, worth every penny. Still working smooth as ever, the camera pop is so slick, I wish they revert to core originals. They are just raising prices, the best part of one plus was it was giving specs of pixels and iPhone at such an efficient price, with slick design models.
You can actually pull the single notification by pulling at the bottom of the bubble. No need to tap the pull down arrow
I think the notification tray issues are common among Chinese brands, at least on Xiaomi you also have the left-swipe settings on each notification and expanding notifications is a very messy and inconsistent experience. It boggles my mind when brands specifically copy the worst parts of each other and ignore the best lol
They seem to be getting back on track. I might hold out and see what the 12 is like
Will this work on Spectrum network, I couldn't find any info on their site ? Nice review.
Good for them, cause it's a valiant effort to bring the brand back to their roots. With software updates the little annoyances can be corrected as long as they continue to listen to their community.
I remember my days using oneplus 1&2 like yesterday and it's 11 now. Time really flies...
Hey. Currently watching this on my OnePlus 6T and I must admit, this one looks tempting.
Excellent video, by the way... Very informative. Much love.
Hi, what is your opinion between op 11 with xiaomi 13? Which one would you prefer?
Very interesting, I am still using the 7Pro.... it just keeps chugging and I can't find a reason to upgrade. This one is maybe the first that I might consider, but I do love my pop up camera!
The fast charging and big battery are important to me. I literally just topped up my Samsung with its 45w fast charging before a planned power outage.
I can only imagine what almost doubling the charging power would do.
Great video as always man!
the software issue is one that has been around for a while now on all OnePlus phones...after about a month or two of usage, you do get used to it
I'm on OnePlus 7 and love the way I interact with this old artifact. Considering upgrading and I hope OnePlus gives me something I can work with. I do spend a lot of time in the notifications so I can relate to Marques here. They need to fix those things.
The subtitles at 1:53 are hillarious. $900,000 flagship phone? :D
Lol
Hahahaha not funny.🤓🗿
Still using my OnePlus 7 for 3+ years now without any issues, Marques is absolutely right OnePlus really peaked at 7 series
I bought the 256 gig version Arbor Green with head phone for free. I completely agreee with the reveiw. I upgraded from a oneplus 7 I had for 4 years. I love the 11 but the same time I share the same software annoyances. If they fix those to be more old school oxygen while keeping a lot of the new features that would be great.
quick question ‼️please tell me how I can get text message notifications when I turn my 1plus115G back on, when it's been off❓
As a OnePlus 9 Pro user with the latest OxygenOS 13 on it, I absolutely relate to all the small software details Marques mentioned at 7:00. I got used to them but as a company that emphasizes at speed and responsiveness all those extra swipes and multiple screens seem a bit odd (and a bit annoying...)
My Huawei mate 20 pro has all the same behavior and it really bugs me out. Most of it came over time with updates
I have the same issues with software on one plus 9 pro ! Somehow I still use it and like this phone
